Abstract

Banks are the financial institutions that have functions as the intermediary between the two parties such as those who need capital and those who have excessive capital. This research aims to analyze whether LDR, LAR, IPR, NPL, APB, IRR, PDN, BO-PO, and FBIR simultaneously and partially have significant effect on ROA. It uses secondary data taken by means of documentation method. These data were taken from published financial report of the foreign go-public national banks form first quarter of 2010 until second quarter of 2014. Multiple regression analysis was used for analysis. It shows that LDR, LAR, IPR, NPL, APB, IRR, PDN, BOPO, and FBIR simulta-neously have significant effect on ROA. In addition, LAR and FBIR, PDN, BOPO, NPL, partially have positive significant effect on ROA. But, LDR, IPR and APB, and IRR partially have negative and insignificant effect on ROA.

Abstract

Banks are responsible for the financial service in order that they become an important role in the community. They provide credit loan facilities for industries, government, small and medium business Banks can get into trouble if their performance in the fi-nancial report is not matching with the actual earnings. They have to present the fi-nancial report, so that the management gets a higher bonus and the stakeholders are satisfied and finally they can invest more money. The research tries to acknowledge the factors that influence the earning management. These factors are business risk, owner-ship structure (management structure and institution structure), banking size, and CAR. This research uses the data from 31 banks in Indonesia in the period of 2008 until 2012 and analyses them using a multiple linier regression test with dummy va-riables. It was found that the factors of management ownership, institution ownership, banking size, and CAR influence the earning management of banks in Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine The Effect of Brand Awareness and Price Discount on Purchase Intention as mediated by the image of Seafood Restaurant New Javana in Surabaya. The data were collected by means of questionnaire for getting the response from the respondents on the 76 people. Sampling method is the Accidental Sampling conducted by questionnaire that is spread in a Restaurant Seafood New Java-na. Analysis technique used to test the relation of independent variables, mediating vari-able, and dependent variable is the Path Analysis with SPSS software for 16 Windows. This research shows that brand awareness and price discounts are significant and simul-taneous partial influence on the image of the restaurant. Brand awareness and purchase intent affect significantly, either directly or with the mediated image of the restaurant. Discount price does not affect significantly purchase intention. However, the discount price does not affect significantly purchase intent. But, the discount price can affect pur-chase intent significantly mediated the image of the restaurant.

Abstract

IPO (Initial Public Offerings) is one of financing alternatives for the company. In this way the company can get some funds for corporate purposes, but problems arise when they are going public. The problem deals with under pricing or overpricing. This study tries to lift and apply the concept of the IPO as done previously to develop alternative focusing on motive IPOs and total assets of issuers on the phenomenon of herding on a sample of 320 companies conducting an IPO in 1995-2014 in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Sample was taken by using purposive sampling with criteria not entirely de-lists from the stock exchange. The data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis and path analysis to examine the relationship between motives IPO, the total assets of the issuer, to herding. The result shows that the motive IPO has positive effect on herding and has an indirect negative effect but it is not statistically significant. Total assets of the issuer have a positive influence and statistically significant towards herding during the first day of trading on the stock exchange. The implications of this research, investors in the primary market should consider the information on the total assets of the company in making investment decisions and they do not lead to herding behavior that can harm the investment market.

Abstract

Today, competition in banking sectors has been very tight, and therefore, in order the banks can survive they have to provide excellent services. Besides, they should also pay attention to the promotion activity, location, and quality of service so that they can attract customers. This study attempts to investigate the effect of promotion, location, and service quality on customers buying decision in Bank Mandiri Surabaya. The sample consists of 74 customers of Bank Mandiri Surabaya selected through the judg-ment sampling technique. Regression analysis with SPSS software was used for data analysis and hypotheses testing. The results show that there effect of promotion and location on customers buying decision in Bank Mandiri Surabaya is not significant. However, service quality has positive and significant effect on customers buying deci-sion in Bank Mandiri Surabaya. The finding of this study suggests that Bank Mandiri Surabaya should pay attention to service quality in order to increase their customer saving.

Abstract

CAR is one indicator used to measure the bank capital adequacy. Capital for bank is used to absorb loss emerged from banking activities, and as the basis of some policies releasead by Indonesia Bank. This research tries to investigate whether the independent variables of LDR, IPR, APB, NPL, IRR, PDN, BOPO, FBIR, ROA, and ROE both simultaneous-ly and partially have significant effect on CAR and which variable has the dominant effect on CAR. This research uses secondary data taken from financial statements from period I Quarterly of 2010 until II Quartely in 2014 of the go-public national private banks. The sample consists of PT. Internasional Indonesia Bank, Tbk, PT. Permata Bank, Tbk, and PT. Pan Indonesia Bank, Tbk. The data were processed by using SPSS 11.5 input results and F-test to see the effect simultaneously as well as t-test to see the effect partially. It shows that LDR, IPR, APB, NPL, IRR, PDN, BOPO, FBIR, ROA, and ROE simultaneously have significant effect on CAR. Yet, partially, only IPR, APB, and PDN have significant effect on CAR. The most dominant is APB that is 23.45 percent.

Abstract

Brand image has an effect on buying behavior. Consumers, who have a positive image of the brand, tend to choose the brand when buying. In addition to brand image, the packaging and advertisement can slo affect buying behavior. Innovative packaging can provide benefits to the company exceeds the competitors and to encourage sales, while a badly designed packaging can lead to consumers switching to a competitor's product and the company lost sales, and advertisement is behaving as a driving force for any business as it's an effective source to convey marketing message and stay in consum-er's mind. The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of brand image, pack-aging and advertisement on consumer buying behavior of Mizone isotonic drink in Surabaya. Questionnaire is used as an instrument to get the response of the respon-dent. Questionnaires were spread to one hundred people who buying the Mizone iso-tonic drink in Surabaya. Multiple Regression Analysis is used to examine the effect of the independent variables on dependent variable. The findings of this study shows brand image and packaging have positive significant effect on consumer buying beha-vior, but not to advertisement. The impilcation of this research, the company should improve the quality of Mizone isotonic drink and replace Mizone packaging materials with environmentally friendly packaging materials.

Abstract

The companys value is related to the stock price, showing the value that investors are willing to pay. To increase the stock price, the company should make good financial decisions and ownership structure. In addition, external factors also need to be consi-dered, one of which is the interest rate. This study aimed to examine the effect of finan-cial decisions, ownership structure, and the interest rate on the value of go public property and real estate companies. The sample consists of 45 property and real esate companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2009-2013 periods. It uses purposive sampling method in determining the sample and multiple linear regression analysis for analyzing the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable. The results indicate that investment decisions are measured by Total Assets Growth insignificant positive effect on the companys value. Financing decision is measured by Debt to Eq-uity Ratio, dividend policy is measured by the Dividend Payout Ratio, and institu-tional ownership has significant positive effect on the companys value, while mana-gerial ownership and interest rate have insignificant and negative effect on the compa-nys value.

Abstract

Bootstrap financing is commonly used by entrepreneurs as an alternative to access the capital and manage the business financing. In addition, bootstrap capital provides entrepreneurs with financing alternatives that are confronted by the lack of access the traditional sources of capital. Besides, bootstrap can be used by entrepreneurs that want to manage their business financing by themselves without any intervention from others. Although bootstrap financing is used by many entrepreneurs, the effect of edu-cation and motivation on this factor is not yet disclosed. This research aims to know the effect of entrepreneurs education and motivation on the application of bootstrap financing methods. It took 92 entrepreneurs for the sample which consists of micro and small entrepreneurs in Surabaya and Sidoarjo, taken by distributing questionnaire. It used sampling methods e.g., purposive and convenience sampling. The analysis tech-niques used were One-Way ANOVAs and simple regression analysis. The results show that education has no effect on the application of bootstrap financing methods, while entrepreneurs motivation has a positive and significant effect on the application of bootstrap financing methods.

Abstract

Working capital is defined as capital used by companies to finance daily operations. Working capital can also be interpreted as the whole current assets owned by a company. Working capital is expressed as current assets or short-term assets, such as; cash, mar-ketable securities, accounts receivable, inventory, and other current assets. The purpose of this study is to test the effect of working capital turnover, cash turnover, receivables turnover, and inventory turnover on the profitability of Food and Beverages companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2007-2012. There are 15 companies used as the sample. They were analyzed using Eviews program and the results showed that working capital turnover has partially significant positive effect on profitability. Fur-thermore cash flows, receivables turnover, and inventory partially have significant but negative effect on profitability. These findings mean that the higher working capital turnover is the higher profitability. Therefore, the companies should also maintain the low level of working capital in order to optimizing profit.
