Abstract

Teachers are still considered the only centers of learning in mathematics, in the sense that only teachers in the delivery of materials that play an active role in the classroom, so that the learning process becomes ineffective. It can be to affect the low students’ result. Efforts are being made to overcome this is to involve students actively and creatively in the process of formation of knowledge. The Piaget’s theory of constructivism assimilation and accommodation is a learning that allows students to be active and critical in the process of learning and allow students to construct their own knowledge based on experience and knowledge they have. The population was all of the students in eight grade of SMP 25 Bandar Lampung in the academic year of 2013-2014. The samples of the research were taken by using the cluster random sampling technique. To obtain data through the students’ result in the form of an essay test consists of 5 items, then the data were analyzed using t-test. Based on hypothesis test, it can be included that, there is influence the Piaget’s theory of constructivism assimilation and accommodation to the improvement of knowledge formation about circle.Keywords: The Learning Assimilation and Accomodation, The Piaget’s Theory of Constructivism, The Knowledge Formation About Circle

Abstract

Learning Mathematics in SMP Muhammadiyah Pringsewu tends to be teacher-centered learning process. Teacher as the main source of learning, students is less involved in discovering the science of Mathematics, the result of students’ achievement is low. From that condition it is very crucial to apply the alternative learning using cooperative model type problem solving. The aims of research are to know the differences of average score between students in control and experimental class and to know which one is higher of mathematics’ score between students in control and experiment class. The population of research is the students at eighth grade in even semester in SMP Muhammadiyah Pringsewu in the academic year of 2012/2013. The sample of research used cluster random sampling technique. The result of learning process is from test with 5 items of essay. The analysis of data using test of normality, test of homogeneity, those are as pre-requisite test before conducting t-test. From the result of data analysis, the average score of Mathematics in experiment class is 67.74 and control class is 58.21. The conclusions are; there is a significant difference between the average scores of Mathematics in experiment and control class. In addition, the average score of Mathematics in experiment class is higher than in control class.Keywords: Cooperative Learning Model, Problem Solving, Subject of Cyrcle

Abstract

The objectives of this research was to solve how to increase the students’ average result especially on the subject of Opportunities. This study aims to determine whether the students’ average result of the student Mathematic Education Department STKIP Muhammadiyah Pringsewu Lampung (STKIP MPL) in the academic year of 2013-2014 using instructional teaching media using Microsoft Office PowerPoint on the subject of Opportunities, is better than the students’ average result without using instructional teaching media using Microsoft Office PowerPoint. This research is a quantitative approach, with a quasi-experimental research methods. The population was all of the students in third grade of the Mathematic Education Department STKIP MPL in the academic year of 2013-2014. The samples of the research were taken by using the cluster random sampling technique. Based on hypothesis test, it can be included that: 1) there are differences in students’ average results between experiment class that used computer teaching media using Microsoft Office PowerPoint and the kontrol class without using a computer teaching media using Microsoft Office PowerPoint; 2) the students’ average results at experiment class that used a computer teaching media using Microsoft Office PowerPoint higher than the students’ average results in kontrol class.Keywords: Teaching Media, Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Subject of Opportunities

Abstract

The problems of this research is a low the student learning result. This is due to the lack of involvement of the students and the students just accept what is presented by the teacher rather than seek their own knowledge that students need. One way to overcome this problem is by actively engaging students while learning. The aims of this research are to improve the student learning result with using the learning strategies of lightening the learning climate. This research is an action research with three cycles, which consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection, where each cycle consists of two meetings. The subjects of this study were students in fifth grade of the MI Islamiyah Sinar Jaya. The data used in this research is qualitative and quantitative data. The results of the research in the first, second, and third cycle students who received grades ≥ KKM on the first cycle of 47.2%, the second cycle of 58.5%, and 80.6% for the third cycle. The results showed that the learning strategy of lightening the learning climate can improve mathematics student learning on the subject Build Flat in fifth grade of MI Islamiyah Sinar Jaya in the academic year of 2011/2012..Keywords: The Student Learning Result, The Learning Strategis of Lightening The Learning Climate, The Subject of Build Flat

Abstract

The aims of the research were to determine to the effect of learning models on mathematics achievement viewed from students cognitive style. The learning model compared were model elicting activities, team assisted Individualition, and direct instruction. The kind of research was a quasi experimental research with 3 x 2 factorial design. The population was the students of Junior high school in SMP N Pringsewu. The size of the sample was 208 students. The instruments used were mathematics achievement test and questionnaire. Hypothesis analysis test used two ways analysis of variance with unbalanced cells. The conclusions were as follow. model elicting activities gave better mathematics learning achievement than the students who used Cooperative Learning TAI type and Direct Instruction Assisted Powerpoint, and the students who used Cooperative Learning TAI type gave better mathematics learning achievement than the students who used Direct Instruction Assisted Powerpoint; For all types of students cognitive style give the different effect for mathematics learning achievement of students, In each model of learning, students with cognitive style types field independent gave better mathematics learning achievement than field dependent.Keywords: Kooperatif; MEas; TAI; Gaya Kognitif

Abstract

The aims of this research are to find out the different effect of each categories of cooperative learning model, characteristics of mind style and their interaction towards students mathematics learning results on equation of straight line. The research used to quasi experimental with 2x4 factorial design. The population was all of the students in Grade VIII of the State Junior High Schools of the district Pringsewu in academic year 2013-2014. The samples of the research were taken by stratified cluster random sampling technique. Based on hypothesis test, it can be conclude that: 1) the cooperative learning model of TAI type on the basis of the AfL gives a better mathematics learning results than TAI type; 2) the mathematics learning result of student abstract sequential (AS) type have a better than student concrete sequential (CS) type, student concrete random (CR) type, and student abstract random (AR) type; whereas student CS type have the same result of student CR type and student AR type; 3) at each of characteristics of mind style students (CS, AS, CR. and AR), the cooperative learning model of TAI type on the basis of the AfL gives a better mathematics learning results than TAI type.Keywords: Team Assisted Individualization (TAI), Assessment for Learning (AfL), The Characteristics of Mind Style, Learning Result in Mathematitcs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the type of error that made the students in solving arithmetic operation of natural numbers in the form of addition and subtraction. This study was a descriptive one. The population in this study were all second grade students of SD Negeri 4 Podomoro which numbered 30 people. The samples used were all students of class II because the number of students is less than 100 people. Data collection techniques used in the form of a valid and reliable test. After the test is given, then the results of tests examined and analyzed to determine the type of error that made the students. The analysis showed that the mistakes made by students in solving arithmetic operation of natural numbers such as addition and subtraction . This type of error in the addition operation, the type of basic factual errors summation with a percentage of 35%, the type of random errors with a percentage of 10.02%. This type of error in calculating the reduction of operating natural numbers, that is kind of basic factual errors, with the percentage of 36.58% reduction. Abstract

Abstract The blind students have limitations in receiving information, they are only a hold of the senses of hearing and touch, so understanding of abstract mathematical objects understood through verbal description of teacher with concrete objects directly fingered. This can result in a lack of ability of students to accept the concepts being. The acceptance of blind students in understanding the concept of geometry, include: 1) the students attention to the teachers explanation; 2) the pattern of asking; and 3) the pattern of answers. Reception pattern blind students in understanding the concepts learned can be viewed through direct observation during the learning activities with the help of a data recording device handycame. The data has been analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion and validity of the data obtained by using triangulation time. The result showed that blind students have a pattern of acceptance in understanding the concept of geometry, as follows: 1) the students attention to the explanation of the teacher in the learning merely listened without linking with the previous concept; 2) the pattern command asks merely asking the teacher is less clear, which is not directly related to the concept studied; 3) the pattern of students in answering questions of teachers, obtained from the statements that have been previously informed. Keywords:reception pattern, blind students, mathematics learning

Abstract

Abstract The objectives of this research was to solve how to increase the mathematical communication skills of students in mathematical problem solving especially on the subject of Statistic. This study aims to determine whether the students’ mathematical communication skills of students in mathematical problem solving of the student SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gadingrejo in the academic year of 2014-2015 using learning method mind mapping on the subject of Statistics can be higher than the students’ mathematical communication skills of students in mathematical problem solving without using learning method mind mapping. This research is a quantitative approach, with a quasi-experimental research methods. The population was all of the students in first grade of the SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gadingrejo in the academic year of 2014-2015. The samples of the research were taken by using the cluster random sampling technique. Abstract

Abstract Thinking can be drilled to the student by developing question skill during teaching process. Personal life quality is determined from question quality; the more qualified a question the more success a person in life. Therefore, this study analyzed the students question to find out the students question quality. The subject of this study is IX class of SMPLB YKAB students Surakarta. The data was found by observation with handy cam. The data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. From the data analysis was found the result that 89 questions from the students consist of 46 (51, 68 %) questions that consist of C1, 2 elements (2,25 %) questions that consist of C2, 25 elements (28,09 %) questions that consist of C4 elements. Based on the finding of the study could be conclude that majority of visual impaired students in low categorize because of having C1, C2, and C3 elements.Keywords : visual impaired students question, mathematics learning.
