Abstract

 Abstract. This study aimed to explore the relationship between self-concept and the intensity of parent-child communication with premarital sex trend. Total subjecs of study were 97 students aged 17-19 years, consisted of 31 male students and 66 female. The data was collected using a scale of 3 pieces each scale trend of premarital sex, self-concept and the intensity of communication among parents and children.The collected data were analyzed with a statistical technique of regression analysis and then parcial correlation. Results of analysis of data showed no significant association between self-concept and the intensity of parent-child communication with the trend of premarital sex. The results of partial analysis showed  no  correlation between self-concept and tendency of premarital sex behavior. There was a negative correlation between the intensity of parent-child communication and the tendency of premarital sex. Abstract

Abstract, The aims of this study is to investigate the correlations among the self-confidence, emotional maturity and the democratic-parenting with the youth delinquency. The subjects of this study were 46 students of class X of SMK Muhammadiyah,Malang. Based on  the correlation and the regression analysis were obtained  there were no correlation among the  emotional maturity  variable and the democratic parenting  with the youth delinquency. Expectionally  the self-confidence, there was significant and negative correlation with youth delinquency. The more self confidence, the less youth delinquency. Abstract

Abstract. Delinquency picture resembles a misbehaving adults. The proportion of variation of delinquency explained through peer conformity and self-concept. Measurement of delinquency, peer conformity and self-concept involving 100 adolescents aged 15 to 17 years. The findings showed: 1) peer conformity and self-concept significantly predicted increased delinquency, 2) correlation of peer conformity (with controlling of self-concept) with delinquency is positive and significant; 3) correlation of self-concept (with controlling of peer conformity) with delinquency is negative and significant. The research findings are discussed in the context of adolescent developmental tasks.Keywords: Self-concept, peer conformity, delinquency

Abstract

Abstract. The main purposes of this research are to find the differences of learning motivation   and self-confidence of students come from intact family or peace family and the broken family. The subjects in this study were 100 students come from SMA Negeri I Panji Situbondo. They were 50 students from intact families and 50 students from families broken home. Data analysis was used statistical t-test. Results showed learning motivation of students come from intact families is more high than student from broken families. Adversly, students come from intact families are less confident than students from broken families. Further, the results will be discussed in this article.Keywords: intact family and broken, learning motivation, self-confidence

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to identify and evaluate whether basic leadership training influences on increased self-confidence and problem solving ability of scout members. The subject of this research are all members of the Board of shelves scout Raden Pratanu-Syarifah Ambami Frontline 09.73 - 09.74 based at SMA Negeri 1 Arosbaya numbered 60 people. Experimental design used was a quasi experimental, one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected by scales of self-confidence and problem solving ability. Such data as the results of the pretest scores and posttest. The collected data were analyzed by t-test. The result of study indicated that the basic leadership training affects on increase self-confidence and problem solving ability of scout members.Keywords: basic leadership training, self-confidence and problem solving ability

Abstract

Abstract, This study aimed to find a positive relationship between job role work-family conflict, positive relationship between the role of the family with work-family conflict, job roles and relationships and the role of the family toward Work-Family Conflict in female nurses in the Hospital PT. PETROKIMIA GRESIK. Sampling in this study conducted with a purposive sampling method with consideration of (judgment) specific, namely: nursing women who are married and have children. The number of samples in this study were 70 respondents. Data was collected by survey methods and distributed questionnaires to the respondents. Testing the hypothesis in this study using multiple regression analysis. The results of hypothesis testing showed that there was no positive relationship between the role of work-family work, it can be seen from the value of sig. 0.321 (> 0.05). For the second hypothesis in this study proved to be acceptable, with sig. 0.01 (<0.05) means that the role of the family has a positive relationship with work-family conflicts for the job role and the role of the family also proved capable of simultaneously dealing with work-family conflict, amounting to 0.201, suggesting that the role of job and the role of the family were able to collectively affect or contribute to work-family conflict by 20%, while other factors of (100% - 20% = 80%) is influenced by other variables that are not observed in the study.Keywords: Role of Work, Family Roles and Work-Family Conflict

Abstract

Abstract.  This research aims to determine whether there are differences in prosocial behavior of students who are active in student activities unit art, Islamic spirituality and nature lovers and whether there are differences in prosocial behavior of male and female students at the University of 45 Surabaya. From the the 90 respondents, consisting of 45 male and 45 female, it is obtained the following result : The mean of prosocial behavior does not differ between students who are active in student activities unit art, Islamic spirituality and nature lovers (p > 0,05, not significant), the hypothesis is not accepted. The mean of prosocial behavior of students does not differ between those who are active in unit activities of Islamic spirituality and art, the mean of prosocial behavior of students who are active in unit activities of art and nature lovers are not different. Similarly, there is no difference in the mean of prosocial behavior of students who are active in unit activities of Islamic spirituality and nature lovers (p > 0,05, not significant). Hypothesis is not accepted. The other result shows that the mean of prosocial behavior looks very significant differences between male and female students (p < 0,01, not significant). Hypothesis is accepted. Mean of prosocial on female students’ behavior is higher than the mean of pro-social behavior of male students.Key words :   Prosocial behavior, student activities

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the effect of creativity in shaping the student coping strategy mainly by distinguishing personality type (ie based on the type of Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Complience and differentiate learning styles (ie visual learning style, auditory and kinestesik). Variables consisted of variables depending Strategy coping and three independent variables, namely Creativity, Personality Types and Learning Styles. models are quantitative study with 38 study subjects at the end of the semester students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Surabaya August 17, 1945. research data retrieval is done by deploying scale two of them made by a team of researchers and one scale using standard scales that have proven validity reliability. regression analysis by ANOVA using SPSS version 20 ( IBM version) shows that creativity plays a role in shaping the individual coping strategies. separately but not learning styles play a role in shaping the coping strategies despite a role in creativity individuals, where the t-test results illustrate that there are significant differences in creativity between the visual and auditory learning styles. opposite, personality type does not affect creativity but affect the individual coping strategies, although the results of the t test shows that only dominance and Steadiness personality and influence by complience which have significant differences in coping strategies.Keywords : Coping Strategies , Creativity , Personality Types , Learning Styles

Abstract

Abstract, Emotional maturity, self-concept, and juvenile delinquency examined on 120 middle adolescents. Researcher developed three research instrument of measurement, namely the scale of juvenile delinquency, the scale of emotional maturity, and the self-concept scale. Data analyzed with the multiple regression. Varians proportion of juvenile delinquency can be explained through the emotional maturity and self-concept. Emotional maturity and self-concept simultaneously predict delinquency in unidirectional and linear relationships; Emotional maturity is a psychological capacity that has the potential to allow a decline in juvenile delinquency; Self-concept is a psychological capacity that no potential to allow the reduction or increase in juvenile delinquency. Juvenile delinquency data not normally distributed and relatively high. Prediction research findings apply only to groups of adolescents with high delinquency rates. The findings are discussed in terms of their implications for middle adolescent in context. Key words: maturity of emotion, self-concept, juvenile delinquency

Abstract

Abstract. This study aimed to find out correlations among assertive behaviors and self-esteem with tendency to depression. The study was  conducted toward 119 adolescents, with ages 18 to 21 year (last adolescent). Data were collected by scales of assertive behkavior, self-esteem and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) in indonesian version. Techniques for the data analyses used statistical spearman rank correlation, SPSS for Windows release 13. Results of the analysis found a negative correlation between assertive behavior and tendency to depression. The more assertive behavior,  the less tendency to depression, and adversely. Other finding also showed a negative correlation between self-esteem and tendency to depression. The more sel-esteem, the less tendency to depression, and adversely.Keywords: assertive behavior, self-esteem, depression
