The tourism industry is an industry that can absorb many creative economic markets. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the creative economic activities as added value that support the tourism industry. The creative economy analyzed here is the creative fashion economy, which is one of the supporters in providing direct income and advertising as a downstream chain of tourism to convey messages to consumers. Method used qualitative and quantitative by looking for regression between income and costs and based on questionnaires conducted on consumers. The results showed a relationship between costs of advertising incurred with income derived from visitor. In a qualitative analysis in the fashion subsector, fashion can contribute a value of 10-12% to revenue. To accelerate in this industry is by knowing the various sub-sectors that are part of the tourism industry value chain and increasing creativity and innovation of creative economic products (fashion and advertising).

Abstract

The study aims to evaluate the quality improvement activities in order to appeal tracking tours in Gianyar regency, Bali. The concept used in this study is the evaluation of the concept, the concept of tourism potential and attractions as well as the concept of rural tourism, village tourism concept, the concept of alternative tourism, archaeological tourism concept and the concept of alternative tourism. The theory is used to analyze this study is the evaluation theory, the theory of sustainable tourism development and tourism destination development theory are analyzed with models CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product). Moreover, the constraints faced in the implementation of development Ancient Tracking One at the Tourism Village Bedulu and Villages Buruan. Associated with the constraints in the development of Ancient Track One can be seen from has not been established as a legal organization as a manager of a tourist attraction. Suggestions put forward in this study, namely: commitment required for the implementation of tourism activities Ancient Track One, with no synchronization between the aspects of context, input, process and product development of tourism in Ancient Track One, as a tourist attraction based on historical and archaeological heritage, tourist areas need to be set right brand that can distinguish between this region with other regions.

Abstract

The development of tourism in Tanah Lot has been able to open up opportunities for local women. The businesses that mostly cultivated by women are the selling of traditional snacks of klepon, postcards, and hairpins.Women who participate should reconsider their decision to choose a dual role, both as housewives and sellers in Tanah Lot.This article analyzes the motivation of Women in opening a business in Tanah Lot area.The results showed that the motivation of women to open a business in the informal sector in Tanah Lot, namely to be able to meet the physiological needs, safety needs, affiliations, appreciation, self-actualization, and add to work experience. The factors that affect women’s motivations are internal factors such as age, educational background, family income, and marital status. While the external factors namely selling location, the condition of selling place, and having their own income.

Abstract

This research is conducted to determine effect of service quality and packaging of tourist attraction on visiting decisions and the impact on tourist satisfaction. This study uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach where the results of this study are expected to provide useful strategic information in the management of the Sonobudoyo State Museum. The sample used in this study was 100 respondents taken based on the tourist population. In the discussion of this study, researchers used multiple regression analysis to determine the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable. The results of the study show simultan that there is a positive and significant influence between the variable quality of service and packaging of tourist attraction to visiting decisions and their impact on tourist satisfaction. The results of the analysis partially have the effect of variable service quality on tourist satisfaction that is not positive and significant.Keywords: Quality of Service, Packaging of Travel Attractions, Decisions Visit, Satisfaction of Travelers.

Abstract

UNESCO has long been known as one of the elements that support cultural heritage conservation. In 2004, UNESCO began to build and trigger the birth of a new creativity by developing concept of creative city network which is divided into several themes, such as design, music, literature, film, media art, gastronomy, crafts and folk art. In line with the concept of tourism and creative economy that is actively promoted by Indonesian Ministry of Tourism, several cities in Indonesia have been trying to join the network, one of them is Denpasar. With all the cultural potencies owned, in 2014 Denpasar governments proposed to join UNESCO creative city network as a ‘Creative City of Crafts and Folk Art’, where it can provide an opportunity for artist and crafters of Denpasar to introduce and interact with other creative city, notably in terms on how to develop local culture in globalization. This study contributes on evaluating strengths, weakness, challenges and opportunities as well as discovering efforts which should be obtained by Denpasar based on the criteria and characteristics served as a guide to join UNESCO creative cities network.

Abstract

Tourism activities in Nusa Penida have experienced a very rapid increase in recent years, mainly in Jungutbatu Village, which is the village where Nusa Penida tourism began around 1970. After the transition from the seaweed farming activities in recent years, now the community relies on the tourism sector. The rapid development of marine tourism and the importance of this to the economy of the community of Jungutbatu Village, requires its management be carried out properly and sustainably. The purposes of this study were to determine the management of marine tourism in Jungutbatu Village through the application of four management functions (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling), and to analyze tourist perceptions on the application of sustainable tourism management in Jungutbatu Village. The research approach was descriptive qualitative and data collection methods were observation, interviews, questionnaires and literature study. The results of this study indicated that the management of marine tourism in the Jungutbatu Village was carried out by involving various parties such as the community, entrepreneurs, non-governmental organizations, and the government. The planning, organizing and actuating processes that involved and accommodated the interests of various parties built a sense of responsibility and awareness to participate in the controlling process. Good management led to a good perception of tourists who came to visit, which in turn affected satisfaction and then influenced loyalty to revisit or recommend the marine tourism area of Jungutbatu Village to others. Abstract

This research aims to determine the potential of tourism based on supporting and inhibiting factors of rural tourism development in Desa Kemetul and analyzing the strategy of community-based tourism in Desa Kemetul. The research was conducted in Desa Kemetul Kecamatan Susukan Kabupaten Semarang. This study uses qualitative method which the data obtained through depth interviews with Kepala Desa Kemetul, Chairman of POKDARWIS Sekar Kanthil, Local Communities, and Dinas Pariwisata Kabupaten Semarang, and then the data were analyzed using SWOT analysis. The study concluded that Desa Kemetul has a lot of tourism potential to become tourist attraction. Desa Kemetul needs to consider strengthening flagship product, the strategy of sustainable development of a tourist attraction, and strategies for institutional development and human resources.

Abstract

The Grand Forest Park of Ir. H. Djuanda is a popular ecotourism in Bandung, West Java. The management is conducted by the Management Center helped by the locals. However, it has been disharmonious relationship between the park management and the local community. This article analyses conflict between the management and the community. It discusses causes, implications and solutions to the conflicts. The data were taken from observation, interviews, and documentions which were analysed using qualitative approach. The study shows that the causes of conflict are policy differences, frequent change in management leadership, lack of dissemination of empowerment programs to the people, factors of lower people’s education, and narrow-minded of people’s. The implications are both negative and positive to the empowerment programs.

Abstract

Tourism promotion through film is different from advertising due to its disguised promotion process. The application of film-induced tourism practice for tourism promotion has been widely known in the international world, but still less known in Indonesia. Utilizing film to promote tourism is not merely attaching the tourism potential into film, but is also expected to be able to help to form a positive image through the coherence of narrative and cinematic aspect of the respective film. This analysis aimed to enrich the references in the utilizing of film as one of the Indonesian tourism promotional media by identifying and interpreting the meaning of signs in the film Tabula Rasa in relation with the brand reputation strengthening of Padang culinary as part of Indonesian gastronomic tourism promotion. The analysis was done interpretive-qualitatively by using the semiotic theory as a base to interpret the signs and tourism promotion theory as the perspective of the interpretation. The result shows that the film Tabula Rasa is strengthening the brand reputation of Padang culinary by displaying brand identity, brand integrity, and image strengthening through the appearance of emotional appeals which are well packed in narrative and cinematic aspects, so that the film-induced tourism concept as a disguisedly persuasive promotional media is also fulfilled.Keywords: Tourism Promotion, Film-induced Tourism, Gastronomy Tourism, Tabula Rasa

Abstract

This article discusses the role of women in supporting sustainable tourism development in Bali by promoting Balinese cuisine to the tourism world. To date, studies on the role of Balinese women in the tourism industry have looked mainly at women as ordinary workers or professionals. In fact, Balinese women operate as culinary entrepreneurs who have not only been successful in introducing Balinese cuisine to the world of tourism but have opened up job opportunities for men and women alike. The data presented in this article was collected through observation of four leading Balinese women who run successful local culinary outlets or restaurants offering local dishes, and is complemented by interviews and other published sources relating to their business activities. The four pioneering women surveyed are Men Tempeh of Gilimanuk (West Bali) serving chicken betutu, the suckling pig restaurant manager Ibu Oka in Ubud, the owner of Made’s Warung Ni Made Masih, and the catering company owner Ibu Warti Buleleng, based in Denpasar. This article concludes that these four Balinese culinary heroines or srikandi have successfully managed to preserve and promote Balinese dishes to the world of tourism while contributing to the sustainable development of Balinese tourism by providing opportunities for tourists to experience local cuisine.

Abstract

The designing of promotional media is an important thing in supporting the development of a tourism destination. With the tight competition among the destinations, the tourist choices are swinging choices. These days, the storytelling method is a method that highly buzzed in the marketing because it is considered effective to influence the future consumen emotionally. The novel of Cintaku di Lembata is a travellougue novel which tells about a tour to Lembata Island. Seing to its many predecors that has successfully raise the popularity of the destination that being used as the setting in the novel, then the potential of this novel to become a promostional media for Lembata – NTT is also worth to be researched. The purpose of this research is to know the potential of the novel of Cintaku di Lembata as a promotional media and the strategy that can be applied to maximize its utilization. The researched was conducted qualitatively with the data collection method of observation, interview, and focus group discussion (FGD). The theory that was applied was the theory of tourism promotion and the data analysis was done by using the SWOT method. The result shows that the novel of Cintaku di Lembata is very potential to become a tourism promotional media for Lembata because the content is informative and persuasive. However, there are some adjustments needed to maximize the utilization of the novel Cintaku di Lembata to promote Lembata – NTT. Those adjustments include, among others, in the matter of transforming the form into a film form and to choose the focus of attraction to be shown.
