The tourism industry is an industry that can absorb many creative economic markets. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the creative economic activities as added value that support the tourism industry. The creative economy analyzed here is the creative fashion economy, which is one of the supporters in providing direct income and advertising as a downstream chain of tourism to convey messages to consumers. Method used qualitative and quantitative by looking for regression between income and costs and based on questionnaires conducted on consumers. The results showed a relationship between costs of advertising incurred with income derived from visitor. In a qualitative analysis in the fashion subsector, fashion can contribute a value of 10-12% to revenue. To accelerate in this industry is by knowing the various sub-sectors that are part of the tourism industry value chain and increasing creativity and innovation of creative economic products (fashion and advertising).

Abstract

As tourism industry is always increasing, nowadays, it does not only touch the leisure sector, it expands into health industry. Medical tourism is a combination of both health care and leisure activity. It is projected to grow US$38 until US$55 billion per year. In Asia, it successfully attracts visitors which increase by 20% every year because affordable price, yet high quality. Malaysia, Thailand, India and Singapore take this opportunity. These countries take control at least 80% of Asia market share. Unfortunately, Indonesia plays only a small part. Moreover, the data reveals a surprising truth that 57% of Malaysian patients are Indonesian. This raises a paradox, whether it is an irony or opportunity. Thus, this comparative study is conducted based on literature review in qualitative and analyzed through SWOT.Bali is very potential. It already has three international hospitals, popular for its wellness tourism, rich for its unique culture, sophisticated medical equipments, professional medics and paramedics, and good image for the hospitality.The next important step is the synergy of every stakeholders which consists of government, academic, media, private sector and community. Those stakeholders have to be eager in seriously creating better regulation, offering an interesting medical tour package, and participating actively.

Abstract

The development of Semarapura City Tourism through City Tour has not been running as expected, so it has not been able to increase foreign tourist arrivals and has not been able to improve the economy of the community. The research objective was to identify integrated development of City Tour City Semarapura tourism through the SHIP Approach. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection methods used in this study were observation and interviews. The theory used in this study is the Tourism Area Life-Cycle, explaining the position of development of Semarapura tourism. SHIP theory (systemic, holistic, interdiciplinary, and participatory) to describe and explain how the integrated development of City Tour in Semarapura City. The integrated form of City Tour tourism in Semarapura city is carried out by designing tourism models with improvements to the previous City Tour program and designing new tour packages, with additional classes for each package. Puppet painting class, weaving class, metal craft / kepeng money making class and brown sugar making class. The development of City Tour with the addition of tourist classes will provide experience for foreign tourists who visit and have a positive impact on the economy of the community through active participation from all stakeholders. Abstract

Tourism has begun to develop in the village of Tablanusu. The community as a major component in tourism development plays an important role to develop the local potentialities of nature and culture. The purpose of this study is to identify the forms of community participation in tourism development in Tablanusu village. This study uses descriptive qualitative method, the technique of collecting data through observations, interviews and documents study. This study was conducted at the Tablanusu village. Informants in this study were 17 people selected by purposive sampling. This research uses the theory of participation. The results of the study reveal the form of participation in planning, implementation, and monitoring. The research results suggest the government to support the community to improve the quality of human resources, building infrastructures which are still lacking, and make good cooperation between tourism stakeholders including the local community in Tablanusu village.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the forms of empowerment carried at Tourism and Home Assistant Program, its model of empowerment, and its advantage on tourism activity in Buleleng Regency. The problems of the study were conducted with qualitative phenomenology approach. Data of the study were analyzed by utilizing qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques utilized observation, documentation studies, and in-depth interviews. The results of this study shows that the forms of community development activities in Tourism and Home Assistant Program were one year tourism training and providing incidental help. Analysis of empowerment model Tourism and Home Assistant Program consisted of creating relevant curriculum, management, marketing, supervision, implementation of clear education system, recruitment systems, cooperation with the users of the graduates, and provide sustained professional development. The interpretation of the data indicates that Tourism and Home Assistant Training Program has advantage on tourism activity of Buleleng Regency such as promotion of tourism activity through social care activities.

Abstract

The second largest foreign exchange earner from the tourism sector. The tourism sector in Indonesia grown by 25.68% in recent years. Very much different from the growth of the tourism industry in Southeast Asia that only 7%, as well as the growth of the world tourism industry which is only 6%. Opportunities in the tourism sector are quite prospective, in addition to being one of the producers of economic growth, the tourism sector is expected to encourage the growth of other sectors, such as the plantation, agriculture, trade, industry and others. This study was analyzed using structuration theory that aims to find out how the communication made by agents in the development of Pulesari Tourism Village, Turi District, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a case study approach. Research data obtained from field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study explain how the structuring process that takes place through the rural tourism program can improve the village economy, and have an impact on increasing the income of its people by increasing employment opportunities. Abstract

Badung Regency, Bali Province, has eleven tourism villages which were established by Regulation of Badung Regent in 2010. The development level of the eleven tourism villages is different, therefore it needs to be evaluated so that the tourism village can be realized for the sake of balanced and sustainable development of tourism, especially in Central and North Badung. The purpose of this research was grouping the potential of each tourism village, grouping them based on the level of development, and formulating a plan of development strategies of each group of tourism villages in Badung Regency. This study used the theory of planning, sustainable tourism theory, the theory of community-based tourism and alternative tourism theory. The research method used quantitative and qualitative methods, then the analysis used a three rating scale method for classifying eleven tourism villages and SWOT analysis was used to formulate of tourism village development strategy plan in Badung regency.

Abstract

The development of spiritual tourism activities in the Ubud Tourism Area based on the Tourism Area Life-Cycle Theory is at consolidation stage, which is seen from the many places that offer spiritual tourism activities both owned by local people and foreigners, resulting in price competition between these businesses.. The purpose of this research are to identify driving factors and implications of spiritual tourism development in the Ubud Tourism Area. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using observation and interviews for data collection methods. The theory used in this research are Contemporary Spiritual and Alternative Tourism Theory to explain the driving factors and implications sustainability resulting from spiritual tourism activities development related to. The driving factors include internal factors such as history and education as popular goals, external factors such as capitalism, world travel trends, and demand. Implications of this are implications for environmental, such as the conversion of residents' settlements and land conversion, for socio-cultural, such as changes in the consumption patterns of local people and revitalization of local spiritual activities, and for the economic, such as increased employment, increased income for spiritual service businesses, and increased ownership of local tourism businesses, where these implications require supervision by stakeholders so that they remain sustainable and provide optimal local communities benefits.Keywords: Implications, Spiritual Tourism, Ubud Tourism Area.

Abstract

This study examines promotional print media on Bali in form of pamphlet and folder made by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to Paris and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia.The aims were to recognize the messages conveyed by both medias and whether the meaning of Bali’s branding, Bali Shanti (Bali Peace), could be delivered or not. The method used in this research were discourse analysis with semiotical approach, and Barthes’s semiotics theory was used as primary theory. The message of Bali Shanti brand is about peace and harmony, since this brand was created to restore the image of the island of Gods after the Bali Bombing in 2002 and 2005. After the analysis, it was found that the pamphlet conveyed to the readers that Bali is a peaceful island with unique culture based on Balinese Hindu religion, thus, this media could transmit the message of Bali Shanti.Meanwhile, the folder expressed Bali as an island with lots of beautiful nature destinations and has exceptional culture, but the message of Bali Shanti brand could not be delivered to the audience.

Abstract

The practice of corporate social responsibility (TSP) by the hotel industry in Indonesia has been regulated in the Act, but does not provide the expected results to support sustainable tourism development, The Lovina Hotel TSP practice in Kalibukbuk Village can be used as a good example (best practice) for other hotels to have positive implications for sustainable tourism development. This study aims to analyze the practice of The Lovina Hotel TSP program. This research is a qualitative study with a case study approach. The result is that the practice of The Lovina Hotel TSP in Kalibukbuk Village is based on legal compliance, moral encouragement, enhancing hotel image, and social legitimacy. The form of the TSP program is community development and the practical implications of the TSP supporting the development of the 5A tourism component (attraction, amenities, activity, accessibility, ancillary) and has positive implications for stakeholders both hotels, village governments and the community of Kalibukbuk Village. Abstract

Visitor Code of Conduct is an effort to minimize negative impact caused by tourist visitation to the Borobudur Temple. It have been applied since 2010 and socialized to the tourists by regulatory boards, security officers and guides. However, there are still tourist violations towards it. This research aims to describe the characteristics of tourist violation towards Visitor Code of Conduct and to find out the causative factors of the tourist violation towards Visitor Code of Conduct. The data was collected by observation, interview and questionnaire, and analysed by descriptive analysis. The results of the research are: 1) the most violator towards Visitor Code of Conduct are male, 17-24 years old, well educated, from outside Java, repeater, visiting for recreation, with friends or family, with most violations is related to stupas (73.8%) 2) factor of motive, knowledge of the Visitor Code of Conduct, knowledge of the violation’s impact and enforcement of regulation has caused tourists to commit violation, while attitudes toward Visitor Code of Conduct and environment cues do not cause tourists violation.
