Abstract

Analog and digital signal processing in nanoelectronic devices in ultra-large scale integration (ULSI) is severely affected by the breakdown of Ohm’s law when applied voltage V exceeds the critical voltage Vc that is the thermal voltage scaled by length to mean free path (mfp) ratio. Nonequilibrium Arora’s distribution function (NEADF) is distinct from the Monte Carlo procedures and Nonequilibrium Green’s function (NEGF) in predicting the saturation velocity that is scattering independent and hence ballistic. The resistance rises with the applied dc electric field or voltage, both under direct and incremental conditions beyond the onset of sublinear behavior resulting in saturation. The surge increases with the applied dc voltage. This surge is shown to change the RC time constants, power consumption, and voltage and current division laws. Signal resistance is found to rise much faster than the direct resistance. Applications of high-field transport to silicon and carbon-based devices are included to confirm their validity. Quantum effects leading to quantum resistance are discussed. The magnetotransport in graphene reveals quantum plateaus in Hall conductivity. Carrier multiplication in high electric field as residing in a p-n junction is included to show the effect of bandgap narrowing.

Abstract

As the growing need of power electronic circuits for providing electricity to the linear as well as non-linear loads, it is necessary to develop control technique to meet simplicity in methodology – thus cheaper in hardware implementation – and also keeping the good performance in operation. To answer this challenge, in the sort of non-linear control, the predictive control method has emerged and offers these features (simplicity and performance) to implement on the power electronic circuits. In this paper, the use of predictive control method using hybrid approach will be presented. The hybrid control approach explores the fact that the power electronic circuits have discrete states besides their natural continuous states, as the word ‘hybrid’ comes up. The working principal can be described as follows. The switching behavior of power electronic circuits leads to the limited amount of discrete states, and during the period of switching, the power electronic circuit is just a simple electric circuit. The hybrid control will choose the switching state so that the circuit will be led to approach the targeted reference values.

Abstract

Abstract— We present a possible method and tool to support the novice designers in the design tasks. Although in literature stated that practitioners depend on memory and experiences, novice designers would take time to learn to acquire sufficient experience. The purpose of this research is to help novice designers to fulfill the usability goals that have determined by the expert in designing a system. The proposed methodology and tool can be considered as an assistance tool for novice designer in decision making in regards to prototype selection as well as the task-pattern mapping template for pattern selection in fulfilling the usability goal targeted. The tool was designed to manage the decisions information and to recommend the chosen prototype based on the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) technique. In overall, about 87% of expert evaluators and prospective users were agreed with the suggestion of prototype selection from the proposed tool. The findings from this study revealed that the cooperation from industry experts was valuable in determined the usability goal and direction and getting accumulative feedbacks both from users and experts.

Abstract

Abstract- The purpose of this research is to develop information system which forecast bandwidth network demand by using Fuzzy time series Singh. Data were taken in State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya during learning hour starting from 07.00 am - 06.00 pm from Monday to Saturday in odd semester of Academic Year 2011/2012. Next, the data were processed by fuzzy time series Singh in order to get forecasted data. Then, the forecasted data were compared to the actual data in order to get validity of the data. The forecasted data using fuzzy time series Singh was nearly precise to the actual data with mean absolute percentage error of 8.523 %.

Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to examine the effectiveness of Half-Sweep Gauss-Seidel (HSGS) method for Space-Fractional diffusion equations. The Caputo’s derivative and implicit finite difference scheme will be used to discretize linear space-fractional equation of the first order to construct system linear equation. The basic formulation and application of the HSGS iterative method are also presented. Two numerical examples and comparison with other iterative methods shows that the present method is effective. Based on computational numerical result, the solution obtained by proposed iterative method is in excellent agreement, it can be concluded that the proposed iterative method is superior to the Full-Sweep Gauss-Seidel (FSGS) iterative method

Abstract

In this paper, we will generalize the multi link internet charging scheme in multi class QoS network. This scheme is designed according to the base price, quality premium and quality of service to help the service provider to set up the parameters to optimize the service provider’s profit and to serve better quality of service. The objective function is formed by setting up the base price as a constant and setting up quality premium as a parameter and a variable. Models are in form of Mixed Integer Nonlinear Programming Problem and are solved by using LINGO 13.0 to obtain the optimal solutions. The results show that in case when we set up the base price as a parameter with varying the quality premium, fixing the sensitivity price of user I in class j and also varying the sensitivity of class j, the highest optimal solution was achieved. The modified model also gives better optimal solution compared to original model. It means that by fixing base price, ISP is able to goal its objective by recovering cost and promoting certain services.

Abstract

Open source server operating system mostly still uses text-based user interface and it makes hard to learn to new user in Vocational High School of Computer Network Department. This problem will be dealt by providing Graphical User Interface (GUI) in the server operating system accompany Command Line Interface feature. This paper describes the development of open source server operating system which provides server configuration in text mode and graphics mode. This research method involves the study of literature and the development of operating systems with remastering concept including selecting features, selecting graphics display, selecting the basic system, remastering, and testing to the Server PC. Research product called Net.OS (Network Technology Server OS) was tested in computer networks to validate the server functions. The results show that all functions can work successfully. Net.OS implementation can provide a user friendly to configure the server in a web-based graphical mode, text mode, moreover it becomes a bridge of Linux newbie to learn the server configuration using GUI.

Abstract

APBD is a systematic detailed list of receipts, expenditures and local spending within a year arranged in PERMENDAGRI No. 16 of 2006, so that the data of APBD can be used as guidelines for governments and local expenditures in carrying out activities to raise revenue to maintain economic stability and to avoid inflation and deflation. Government financial institutions in areas such as DPKA Padang, experienced difficulties in identifying the relevance of each archive data on APBD, that result in a data warehouse. In addition, to the administration, APBD in the government of Padang have not been effective. To minimize the difficulty in identifying data archive of APBD, then the data warehouse can be used to produce knowledge using the techniques of Data Mining (DM). The method that is used are clustering and forecasting. Clustering performed using the K-Means Algorithm while forecasting is done by using multiple linear regressions. These methods intended to classify and identify the data in the budget that have certain characteristics in common, and can predict the value of APBD for the following years.

Abstract

In this paper, a critical view of the utilization of computational intelligence approach from the text steganalysis perspective is presented. This paper proposes a formalization of genetic algorithm method in order to detect hidden message on an analyzed text. Five metric parameters such as running time, fitness value, average mean probability, variance probability, and standard deviation probability were used to measure the detection performance between statistical methods and genetic algorithm methods. Experiments conducted using both methods showed that genetic algorithm method performs much better than statistical method, especially in detecting short analyzed texts. Thus, the findings showed that the genetic algorithm method on analyzed stego text is very promising. For future work, several significant factors such as dataset environment, searching process and types of fitness values through other intelligent methods of computational intelligence should be investigated.

Abstract

This research is aimed to test the originality of paper currency using detection system based on Linear Vector X1 Quantization (LVQ) Neural Network method. The input image of the system is the “dancer” object image of paper currency Rp. 50.000,- fluorescent by ultraviolet light. The coding was carried out using visual programming language. The feature’s size of the dancer tested object is 114x90 px and the Red-Green-Blue-Hue- X2 Saturation-Intensity (RGBHSI) values were extracted as the input for LVQ. The experimental result shows that the system has an accuracy 100% of detecting 20 real test case data, and 96% of detecting 22 simulated test case data.
