Abstract

Permasalahan terbesar dalam pengendalian reaktor alir tangki berpengaduk adalah sistem yang sangat tidak linear dan multivariabel. Sistem pengendalian konvensional tidak dapat mengkontrol sistem semacam ini dengan optimal, sehingga kemurnian produk yang dihasilkan rendah. Multiple Model Predictive Control (MMPC) digunakan untuk mengatasi masalah pengendalian proses yang nonlinear dan melibatkan banyak variabel. Beberapa MPC lokal digunakan pada MMPC diperoleh dengan metode yang baru dikembangkan, Representative Model Predictive Control (RMPC). Penelitian ini menggunakan model reaktor alir tangki berpengaduk yang disimulasikan dengan perangkat lunak MATLAB. Variabel yang dimanipulasi adalah suhu inlet pendingin dan konsentrasi umpan. Sedangkan variabel yang dikontrol adalah komposisi produk. Untuk perubahan set point konsentrasi produk dari 8.5 sampai 8.6; disarankan menggunakan MMPC 4,1,2.

Abstract

Vibration on End Mill Feeds will occur due to friction between the workpiece and end mill. The friction which occurs will cause tool wear in the insert blade. At this point, the tool wear experienced by the end mill can be seen from the imperfect feed of the workpiece that is resulted. Therefore, it is necessary to find out a method that can quickly and accurately detect tool wear at the end mill. The one that was experimented in this study was the vibration method. The vibration response was measured at their x, y, and z axes with rotation speeds of 2500 rpm, 3500 rpm, and 4500 rpm. At the broken end mill, it was shown that frequencies resulted did not affect the rotation while in the standard end mill. The initial frequency was highly influenced by spindle rotations treated on it.

Abstract

Ordinary audiences who do not have formal education such as builders are called vernacular architects. In Kendari City, in general, public housing is built by a vernacular architect. The foundations made by vernacular architects do not use empty stones and sand dunes. The foundation is made partially in the hole and is made partially on the surface of the soil. This research is aimed to formulate the knowledge of vernacular architect on mountain rock foundation. This type of qualitative research with the descriptive approach used in this research. The resource is determined by the snowball method. Data collection was done by observation and in-depth discussion on three construction workers. Data were analyzed by the descriptive method. The research concludes that the vernacular architect in making the mountain rock foundation is rigid but also flexible, in order to respond to earthquake disaster. Rigid principles are found on mountain rock foundations, empty stone plates, nail terms on empty stones, chicken claw foundations, hierarchy on the floor, sloof and foundation relationships. Flexible principles are found in sand dunes, empty stones, anchor depth, and mortar for plaster.

Abstract

Semakin berkembang dan meningkatnya aktifitas bisnis mengakibatkan bertambahnya interaksi antara perusahaan dengan pihak eksternal baik itu instansi pemerintah maupun instansi swasta. Bertambahnya jumlah permintaan kendaraan operasional, menuntut perusahaan untuk menambah jumlah unit mobil operasional yang dimiliki. Keputusan untuk penambahan mobil operasional memerlukan pertimbangan yang tepat, terutama yang menyangkut masalah biaya, mulai dari pembelian, operasional, pemeliharaan, perawatan dan lain-lain. Pengambilan data dilakukan di PT Panarub Industry, pada periode Agustus - Desember 2012. Data yang berhasil dikumpulkan antara lain: data mobil, pengemudi, jam kerja, upah, permintaan mobil, biaya operasional, biaya perawatan, biaya pembelian dan penyewaan mobil. Selanjutnya data tersebut diolah dengan menggunakan beberapa metode analisis, diantaranya Payback Period, Net Present Value, Profitability Index, dan Internal Rate of Return.Dari hasil perbandingan kelayakan antara pembelian dan sewa, diperoleh hasil dan dipilih alternatif pembelian dengan nilai Payback Period  2,37 tahun; Net Present Value Rp 299.432.323; Profitability Index 1.73; dan Internal Rate of Return 31,58%. Berdasarkan  analisis hasil menunjukkan usul investasi layak untuk dijalankan.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the case of the disappearance of legal bus services due to their loss in competition with a kind of car services called “Travel” for the corridor of Padang - Pesisir Selatan, West Sumatera, Indonesia. Travel might not legal public transport services, and therefore, in this study is also called un-official public transportation. This study aims to determine the driving attributes for passenger’s satisfaction of un-official public transportation services and to figure out the service attributes that need to be improved according to passengers’ perceptions. Data was collected using random sampling with a total sample of 160 respondents and was analyzed using the Importance Satisfaction Analysis (ISA) method. Quadrant analysis of ISA revealed that the availability of music and air conditioner on-board is not so essential but resulting a higher satisfaction to passengers. Passengers are calling for an improvement of the services by consistently implementing the law against a driver who uses a mobile phone while driving or driving inconsiderately, and improving the courtesy and friendliness of the driver.

Abstract

Implementasi penyiaran televisi digital dengan menggunakan media teresterial telah menjadi kenyataan di Indonesia. Sistem penyiaran televisi digital (Digital Video Broadcast over Terrestrial / DVB-T) memungkinkan untuk penggunaan Single Frequency Network (SFN), sehingga dapat memperluas wilayah jangkauan siaran dengan menggunakan satu kanal frekuensi. Penelitian yang dilakukan adalah merencanakan koordinat dan parameter teknis sistem SFN DVB-T di wilayah TVRI Jawa Barat, berdasarkan rekomendasi dari akta-akta akhir International Telecommunication Union (ITU) dalam Sidang Regional Radiocommunication Conference (RRC-06), untuk mendapatkan jangkauan wilayah yang paling maksimal dan efisien. Simulasi perancangan menggunakan  perangkat lunak "Mobile RF" dan "CHIRplus_BC"dalam menentukan koordinat pemancar, parameter daya dan tinggi pemancar, serta keekonomian perancangan. Hasil akhir dari penelitian adalah dengan sistem SFN dapat meningkatkan wilayah jangkauan siaran dari kondisi awal 11.609.819 orang (persentase coverage population 55,51%), menjadi 12.060.282 orang (persentase coverage population 57,66%) sampai dengan 17.563.586 orang (persentase coverage population 83,98%), dengan total jumlah pemirsa adalah 20.914.885  orang.

Abstract

Setiap semester Laboratorium Dasar Proses Kimia Departemen Teknik Kimia UI menghasilkan sekitar 180 liter limbah cair (asam campuran). Limbah ini tentunya harus diolah supaya dapat dibuang ke lingkungan dengan memenuhi standar baku mutu air buangan. Departemen Teknik Kimia memiliki alat simulasi pengendali pH air yaitu unit mini plant WA921. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan parameter PID linear optimum yang dapat diterapkan di unit mini plant WA921 untuk menetralkan pH limbah tersebut yang memiliki sifat nonlinear. Dari pengujian unjuk kerja terhadap alat ini dalam menetralkan pH limbah, didapatkan parameter PID sebagai berikut: PB = 6,6%, TI = 166 detik, TD = 41 detik pada skema S dan PB = 3,4%, TI = 59 detik, TI = 14 detik pada skema L. Kedua hasil tersebut memiliki kinerja yang lebih baik dari pada setelan parameter pengendali PID linear hasil pengujian sebelumnya (asam murni).

Abstract

Gangguan harmonisa yang terjadi pada sistem distribusi tenaga listrik akibat terjadinya distorsi gelombang arus dan tegangan. Distorsi gelombang arus dan tegangan ini disebabkan adanya pembentukan gelombang-gelombang dengan frekuensi kelipatan bulat dari frekuensi fundamentalnya. Gelombang-gelombang ini kemudian menumpang pada gelombang aslinya sehingga terbentuk gelombang cacat yang merupakan jumlah antara gelombang murni sesaat dengan gelombang harmonik. Keberadaan beban non-linier yang terdapat pada Kampus Politeknik Enjinering Indorama sebagai sebagian penyumbang harmonisa yang terjadi diantaranya electronic ballast, variable frequency, thyristor ac power controllers (TCR), silicon controlled rectifier (SCR), serta adjustable speed drive (ASD) yang terdapat pada unit mesin Drawn Texture Yarn (DTY). Pengukuran dilakukan untuk melihat kandungan harmonisa arus dan tegangan listrik di Panel Room yang terdapatnya alat ukur Digital Power Meter Mikro DPM 380 selama 2 (dua) hari kerja berturut-turut pada jam-jam tertentu. Sebagai perbandingan pengukuran dilakukan perbandingan dengan standar IEEE 519. 1992 sebagai evaluasi terhadap kualitas daya listrik pda Kampus Politeknik Enjinering Indorama. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kandungan harmonisa arus (% THDi) pada waktu  rentang 2.4 % - 4.1% untuk standar 15 % masih berada diambang diizinkan dan harmonisa tegangan  pada jam rentang (%THDv) 3.6 % - 26.6% untuk standar 5 %. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa secara umum kandungan harmonisa tegangan pada Kampus Politeknik Enjinering Indorama berada diatas ambang batas yang di izinkan.

Abstract

Energy audit is one of the first tasks to be performed in the accomplishment of an effective energy cost control program. To obtain the best information for a successful energy audit, the auditor must make some measurements during the audit visit. One of the tools that primarily used in audit visit is the portable Power Quality Analyzers (PQA) for measuring single to three-phase lines with a high degree of precision and accuracy. It is utilized for monitoring and recording power supply anomalies. For most survey applications, changing currents makes it mandatory for data to be compiled over a period of time with enormous amount of electricity data. Hence, this paper proposed a Business Intelligence approach that can facilitate the auditor to quickly analyze the PQA data. There are five Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to be displayed for analyze in form of dashboard. The method that uses to construct the dashboard is classification and association rules with the help of orange dataminer tools. Classification method is utilized to display the data distributions by frequency on a bar chart. Once we got the frequent sets, they allow us to extract association rules among the item sets, where we make some statement about how likely are two sets of items to co-occur or to conditionally occur. The result of this paper is a dashboard of five scorecards, namely unbalanced voltage, unbalanced currents, voltage harmonic, currents harmonic, and power factor.

Abstract

Bamboo is a sustainable building material because the use of new materials is sustainable. In the City of Kendari, there are still craftsmen of bamboo woven wall material. This research is important to do because to reveal how to make bamboo woven wall material by local craftsmen in Kendari and to find out the pattern of making bamboo woven wall material against the principles of sustainable architecture. This research is aimed at identifying and reviewing work tools, work materials, and how to make bamboo woven wall material against the principles of sustainable architecture by local craftsmen in Kendari City. This study uses a case study method with a qualitative approach. This study concluded that the principles of sustainable architecture in bamboo woven wall materials are as follows: working tools are used simply to reduce the use of new materials, the materials for making come from vegetation grown so that the location and natural resource ecosystems are sustainable, and how to make use of human energy so that it saves energy.
