Abstract

Currently, unit productions of apple processing that have been developed by State Vocational School 2 Batu majoring in Agricultural Product Technology are apple chips, apple juice, and apple sweet with brand “ESEMKA”. The purpose of this activity is to expedite learning process, especially in agricultural processing practice by introducing me-chanical dryer in unit productions of apple processing at this school and mechanical mixer multi function in apple porridge production at SME “Bagus Agriseta Mandiri” that become practical place for the students. From the result of perfor-mance test of mechanical dryer to produce apple sweets with the water content of 12% is 15 hours therefore processing is more efficient and hygiene, which was previously done with the sun drying process which takes up to 3 days. However the application of mechanical mixer multi function at SME apple porridge stirring time of 3.5 hours/pro-cess, where pre-viously manual methods takes 6 hours/ process, so the efficiency of the mixing process increased up to 90% and less fuel. The application processing machines increase performan-ce of production also has implications that the teaching and learning process at this vocational school over a smooth and increase students' knowledge and skills.Keywords: apple, mechanical mixer, mechanical dryer

Abstract

ABSTRACT In Batu, 2 SMEs which produce fruit drink and beverage. SMEs "Sumber Barokah", producies strawberry and mulberry juice beverage with the brand "Arohmah" and SMEs "Tiga Bersaudara" Pepino juice products under the brand Nature Fresh. The current problems faced by SMEs is limited due to low production capacity capability (process capability) and the efficiency of production with production facilities still manually so that the quality and quantity of the product can not be maximal. Solutions from this activity was facilitation of the production machine semi-automatic cup sealer and Training and coaching of management of a commercial venture with the implementation of logbook, improved on-line marketing strategy serta Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purposeofthis activityis to applymechanical machine such as washing machine for rhizome (empon-empon), gra-termachine, andhydraulicpress toimpro-ve theperformanceandefficiency of productionprocess oftraditional drinks (jamu). This activity has been done by “learning by doing” method emphasized to practical aspect rather than theoretical aspect. Therefore, there are several activi-ties such as:  (1) SurveytoSMEsinBatutraditionaldrinks, namelySMEs"Seger" and"BuRoes" and doing preliminary eva-luation(2) Designandmanufacture of mechanicalwashingmachines, machinegrater, andhydraulicpress (3) Training(4) implementing machineries in SMEs part-ner, then (5) monitoring and evaluation. Final result showed that the training mate-rial can be accepted by SMEs. The result of performance washing machine, it  obta-ined average input capacity is 5-7 kg/process/5 minutes with 95% efficiency. Grater machine performance is 5-7 kg/process/15 minutes. Moreover, the hydraulic press is the input capacity grated “empon-empon” average 3-5 kg/process/10 minutes. The benefits of this machine implemented are saving the time and power, increase production higienes, and efficiency.Keyword: grater machine, hydraulic press,rhizome washing machine,traditional drink (jamu)

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this community service is to optimalize the integrated health service post in increasing toddler development. We held some health education and training to its cadet about integrated health service post management and repair some Posts facilities. Other purpose is to develop entrepreneurship among Flamboyan cadet post collaborating with catfish farmer in Gading Kulon Malang Regency. The catfish was processed as dried shredded catfish that hygienic, nutritious, and high selling values. The result of these activities was accomplishment of 100% of cadets’ knowledge and skill in post management. During the development screening, there were 25norm toddler participants.The corporation with catfish farmer produced a pilot catfish pond and independent funds from dried shredded catfish selling. Survey result to 20 consumers shows that 90% of them were satisfied to the taste of dried shredded catfish. Keyword: community empowerment,dried shredded catfish, independent integrated health service post revitalization

Abstract

The aim of this community service was to introduce a new technology of Milk Blue Crab to improve its economic value. The activity was conducted by extension and demonstrating to the small medium enterprises in Pasuruan City. The success of activities was evaluated by qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results showed that the community was interested to try and implement this new technology (smoking cash fish, meat mincer, and grinder machine). However, there were some problems for the small medium enterprises to apply this method, such as inadequate equipment. Therefore, such technology was only conducted by home industry that still cannot extend its market share. Consequently, selling activities  cannot operates well. The suggestion from this activity was important to make business partnership between government, entrepreneur and other institutions that has a relation to this activity to increase more society incomes.Keywords: blue crab, bubu net, steamer, sortage table

Abstract

AbstractThe aims of the activity was to increase knowledge and skills on intensive kampung chicken management for the community, especially the members of farmer group of GemahRipahat  Kucur Village, DistrictDau, Malang, East Jawa. The method used was the transfer of knowledge and skills through training and demonstration for the community as participant.  The results of demonstration plots showed that the cultivation of kampungchicken by intensive system with formulated feed could reduce the cost of feed, and the addition of ginger in chicken feed improved the health of chicken, increased body weight gain, and reduced abdominal fat. Evaluation activities showed that the participants were responding positively to the lecture material, training and demonstration.  It is suggestedthat the extension activities should be carried out more about the marketing of effective and profitablechicken farm production, and hatchery management counseling. Keywords: chicken farming, corn, feed, farmer group, ginger, kampung chicken

Abstract

ABSTRACT Eggplant Brownies (Brownte) is one of the culinary diversification in the Batu  City. "Sentra (Selera Nusantara)" has developed a unique food-based form of brownies healthy vegetables since 2010 with brownies carrots, tomatoes, corn, mustard greens. with the name Brownty (Healthy Brownies). The advantage of Brownty is of bioactive compounds from vegetables so it proved Brownty as one of the functional food for health. Outlets "Griya Brownte" which has a program 'Brownty Cooking Show' in the concept of "Open Kitchen" that consumers can enjoy a live presentation as well as how to cook Brownty. The concept of "Open Kitchen" aims to demonstrate the quality of materials and food processing that can be seen directly by consumers. PT Sentra also provides an opportunity for partnership cooperation Brownty healthy snacks in the form of Franchise by investing 25 million a facility such as the right partner and use the brand Brownty for 5 years, partnerships and employee training and supplies equipment for the production and marketing Brownty. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this activity is the application of dryer machine in potato crackers industry to strengthen production capabilities and fulfillment of market demand. There were several activities that had done,  beginning: 1) survey to “Dua Merpati” SMEs in Batu regency and do primary evaluation, 2) design  and create dryer machine 3) training 4) implementation of machine in SMEs, and 5) last evaluation and mentoring. The results showed that the application of dryer machine rack type can increase production capabilities and maintain continuity of production during the wet season, so as to meet the demand. Dryer machine that has implemented the specification: The dimensions of the drying chamber 3 x 3 meters with 126 trays, trays dimensions 30 x 70 cm, dryer capacity is 1000 kg of wet crackers/process. Performance of the dryer is to achieve a moisture content of 9 % takes 3 hours. This saves time by 50 %, where before with sun drying takes at least 6 hours. It means that the application of dryer machine in SMEs “Dua Merpati”  can improve the performance of it’s production system, product quality, efficiency, productivity and keep the production continuity.Keywords : potato cracker, dryer machine

Abstract

AbstractJabon area, Sidoarjo district is one of shoreline area that it have about 40 percentage of this is ponds. These used farming of agarophyte seaweeds, i.e. alga producing agar-agar, such as Gracilaria sp. Postharvest activity of this by farmer comprise of plucking, bringing, drying, and packaging produce quality of dry seaweeds lower than Indonesia National Standard and cause cheap price. The purpose of this study was to obtain increasing quality of dry agarophyte seaweeds by drum type of washing machine. The method of this activity was Participatory Rural Appraisal involving enlightenment, demonstration, and partnership in using of drum washing machine to group of farmer and seaweed cultivator on Tegalsari village, Jabon area, Sidoarjo district. The result showed that partner followed enthusiastically the enlightenment, demonstration, and partnership. The quality of dry seaweeds that washed by drum machine was rise and included in product criteria of Indonesia National Standard. The yield of dry seaweeds increased to 17.5% and the gel strength of agar-agar was higher six times and also the selling price expanded to 42% or Rp 2,500.- each kilograms. The conclusion is using drum washing machine able to increase the quality and selling price of dry seaweeds and move the increasing of prosperity of seaweed farmer and dry seaweeds cultivators.Keywords: drum washing machine, Gracilariasp, postharvest, quality, selling price.

Abstract

Batu City has a potential livestock (rabbits, beef cattle, and dairy cows). Brau  Village in Batu City is one of the centers of dairy cow farmers and they are the member of business cooperative "Margo Makmur Mandiri" which is a partner with KUD "DAU". The need of concentrate for feed is 60% in addition to elephant grass. Purchasing price of animal feed in KUD "DAU" is Rp.85.000, - per zak @ 50 kg while the animal feed from KSU Rp.75.000/zak with profits 12,000, - up to 20,000/zak. The number of dairy cows in the Brau Village is 500 cows with the need of 6 kg per cow per day.  Therefore at least it is needed 18 tons for 10 days feeding.  Especially during the dry season, the demand is 20-25 tons per 10 days. Technology transfer is required for improving capacity and efficiency of feed production including grinders (cap crusher/hammer mill), genset power plants, conveyor, cyclone and blower. The coaching was pursued about quality standards, marketing and commercial business management. This program can improve the quality, quantity and profits that impact on the welfare of society, especially cow dairy farmers in Brau Village.
