Abstract

The research objective is to estimate and study the genaral picture of dwarf buffalo (Bubalus sp) in oder that their presence around can still be recorded and better managed in Sulawesi.  Descriptive research method was used by applying line transect to observe population quadrat transect was used to analyze habitat composition.  Based on footprints found, there were estimated that were about less that 12 adult, 8 teenagers and 5 young dwarf buffaloes around within 13 obrvation points with density of 1.23 dwarf buffaloes/km2 or around 1 ? 2 per square kilometres.  For habitat vegetaton, there were about  85 species function as supporting habitat and about 33 species as food sources.  Laboratory analysis noted that soil texture on the sites are clay with salinity level of 0.72 µS/cm.  In addition, it was recorded that the temperature during the morning time were about 140 C ? 180 C, 180 C ? 200 C during the noon time, and arond 200 C ? 150 C during the evening time.  To summarize, the population sze of dwarf buffalo can be conculded as low leading to extinction if illegal hunting and habitat destruction continuously occur Keyword: population, dwarf buffalo, protected forest

Abstract

Production of fresh fish that is high enough requires good handling technology for fish susceptible to the decay process. Handling fresh fish is still unfavorable in terms of security, including the process of handling the fish after rigor mortis, especially when viewed from the aspect of sanitation and hygiene. Consequently fish up into the hands of the seller before the consumers, had been contaminated by chemical contaminants, physical, and microbiological. The study aims to identify Escherichia coli bacterial contamination on fish float (Decapterus russelli) in various markets Palu. Research using descriptive analysis with Total Plate Count testing and identification of the bacterium Escherichia coli. The result of the identification of Escherichia coli bacteria in three markets in the city of Palu showed that all positive fish are Escherichia coli, where the Presidential Market with the number 210 APM / g, Market Masomba the amount of 3.0 APM / g, and 27 APM / g and Markets parents of 35 APM / g. Based on the results of testing of Escherichia coli showed that fish float in three different markets in the city of Palu have exceeded the maximum contaminant ISO 7388-2009 bacterium Escherichia coli on fresh fish that is <3 / g.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe correlation between: (1)  learning style and critical thinking skill; (2) learning style and cognitive ability in chemistry subject; and (3) critical thinking skill and cognitive ability of students in chemistry subject at Class X of SMKN I Bungku Tengah. The population of the research was 48 students at Class X of SMKN I Bungku Tengah registered in 2013/2014 academic year. The sample of the research was the overall of the population member (saturated sample). The collecting data used questionnaire and multiple choice test. Data of the research were analyzed by using correlation and regression analyses. Based on the data analyses, it could be concluded that there were positive correlations between: (1)  the learning style and the critical thinking skill; (2) the learning style and the cognitive ability; and (3) the critical thinking skill and the cognitive ability in chemistry subject of the students at Class X of SMKN IBungku Tengah. Abstract

This research aimed at finding out the influence of factors in line with land area factor, seed, Urea fertilizer, Phonska fertilizer, Seprit fertilizer and labours toward the production of rice field cultivated with System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method at Lero Tataro Village, Sindue district, Donggala regency. The 40 respondents were taken through census method. A multiple linier regression was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the independent variable (Xi) gave a big influence toward the dependent variable (Y). The coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.979 which means that 98 percent of the variations of rice field?s production can be explained by the variable of land area (X1), seed (X2), Urea fertilizer (X3), Phonska fertilizer (X4), Seprit fertilizer (X5), and the labour (X6). The other 2 percent was explained out of the model. It can be said that farm production through System of Rice Intensification (SRI) method at Lero Tatari village were obviously influenced by the land area, seed, Urea fertilizer, Phonska fertilizer, Seprit fertilizer, and labours. The income of farm production using System of Rice Intensification (SRI) Method at Lero Tatari, Sindue district was Rp. 13.023.005.88/0.76 ha, or Rp. 17.079.351.97/ha.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effect of learning model and learning motivation on studets? learning achievements in mathematics. This research was conducted at SMAN 2 Palu using a quasi-experimental design with factorial 2 ´ 2. The independent variable in this study is learning model and learning motivation. The dependent variable is the students' mathematics learning achievements. Instruments used in the form of learning motivation questionnaire and achievement test. These samples students of class XI-IPA taken using random sampling techniques. Analysis of data using analysis of variance two-lane. Results showed (1) there is a significant difference the mathematics learning achievements of students between who are taught trough  active learning model and direct learning; (2) there is a significant difference the mathematics learning achievements of students beetween high learning motivation and student learning achievements learning motivation is low; (3) there is an interaction between learning active learning model and learning motivation of students; (4) specifically for low motivation students who are taught by active learning model mathematics learning achievements was higher than students taught with direct learning; (5) specifically for high motivation students who are taught by active learning model mathematics learning achievements was lower than students taught with direct learning; (6) specifically for active learning model students who have high motivation to mathematics learning achievements higher than the students who have low motivation, and (7) specifically for direct learning model students who have high motivation to mathematics learning achievements higher than the students who have low motivation.

Abstract

This research aimed to result computer-based interactive learning media for eighth grade students of Junior High School. Developed interactive learning media consisted of two main parts: material and evaluation. The procedure of development followed Borg and Gall model. The interactive learning was validated by material and media experts. The material validation result was in very good category and media validation was in good category. The media was tried out at SMP Negeri 3 Palu. The students? response in small and large-scale try out were in very good category. The students? learning achievement showed an improvement where normalized gain (<g>) was in moderate category. The results showed that developed interactive learning media is feasible to use as an learning media in supporting conceptual understanding. Keywords: Interactive learning media and evaluation.

Abstract

Mathematics errors give great effects in physics problem solving, thus the using of mathematics in physics is indispensable because both of them are structured knowledge. The objective of this research is to describe mathematics concepts errors of undergraduate students of Physics education study program on kinematics concepts using vector analysis. Data were gained from students? answer sheets and Thinking-Aloud recording. The errors of mathematic concepts and procedures were analysed using  Kastolan,  then elaborated how students use mathematics in physics problem solving. This research was conducted at Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Tadulako University and research? subjects were 5 undergraduate students of Physics education study program which were chosen by purposive sampling methods based on their basic physics subject mark. The results show that mathematics  has crucial role for students in physics problem solving. Percentage of students? mathematics errors in integral concepts is 50%, differential concepts is 20%, distributive of mathematics is 20%, whereas mathematics procedures errors embody 50% of integral operation errors, 20% of differential errors, 80% of exponent differential errors and trigonometry,  60% of fraction operation  and 20% of calculation operation. These results indicate the lack of respondents? mathematics concepts understanding specially in exponent differential  and trigonometry concepts  and enact the unit vectors.

Abstract

It has been conducted a research where that aim is to describe the influence of the guided inquiry learning process with the scientific approach on the learning outcomes of and scientific attitudes of student. The population in this study is all students of class X SMA Negeri 9 Palu with academic year 2014/2015. The purposive sampling is used for sampling technique where class XA as an experimental class and class B as a control class. The research design used is the pretest-posttest control group design. Statistical test used is the Mann-Whitney U-Test. Based on the analysis of the calculation of the value of <g>, there is an improvement on learning outcomes of student in the experimental class compared to the control class. Based on statistical test, it is showed that  Zcalculation<Ztable at significant level of 0.05, which means that the guided inquiry in chemistry learning through scientific approach gives a significant effect on learning outcomes and scientific attitudes of student in class X SMA Negeri 9 Palu on electrolyte and on-electrolytes solution topic. Abstract

The research was aimed to describing the influence of Jigsaw II type as cooperative learning model and mind mapping technique on the learning achievement for biology subject at grade X, and than to describing the influence of Jigsaw II type as cooperative learning model and mind mapping technique simultaneosly on the learning achievement. The research was quantitative with quasi- experimental design. Population in this research were all students in grade X SMAN 3 Poso which consists of 8 study groups. Research sample that is graders XD and XH, taken with random probabiliy sampling. Research data were obtained from the student achievement, and were analized by t-test was followed by ANOVA test with SPSS 20. The result of the research showed that there was a significant influence jigsaw II type as cooperative learning model and mind mapping technique on the learning achievement for biology subject, and there is significant influence of Jigsaw II type as cooperative learning model and mind mapping technique simultaneosly against on the learning achievement for biology subject. The Conclusion of this research that there is significant influence of jigsaw II type as cooperative learning model and mind mapping technique on the learning achievement for biology subject at grade Xof class X SMAN 3 Poso.

Abstract

This study was descriptif research, to be known the teacher skills for implementing thematic learning at SDN Impres 1 Tanamodindi Palu. The data collecting by instrument: instructional observation, validity of lessons plan, observation of PAIKEM, and student?s satisfaction. The result of this study showed the skills of instructional teacher had good category (69.89%). Only two teachers had excellent category (76 and 78%). The documents of lessons plan in good category (69.14%). The teacher skills to implementing PAIKEM got a good category (68.89%), but only one teacher had a little bit good category (87.78%). The student?s satisfaction had very good category its 3.00%.  Base on the study finding, it can be concluded that the sixth of teacher hope to be still improve their skills for hopefully professional teacher.
