Abstract

Corrugated boxes as a transport packaging can decrease the damage of the contains during transportation. The transport packaging for fresh fruit has to be provided by ventilation. However the percentage of the ventilation candecrease the physical properties/the strength of the corrugated boxes it self. Experiment has been carried out to determine the percentage of the ventilation of the corrugated boxes needed for fruit of manggistan. The type of corrugated boxes is Regular Slotted Container (RSC) with inner dimension 300 x 180 x 110 mm and 2, 5 kg by weight. The transport simulation test showed that the optimum percentage of the ventilation is 5 % with the self live of 8 days.

Abstract

Redesign of the existing transport corrugated box from its initial dimension of 504x404x202 mm consisting (5x4) primary packages of 1 liter liquid product, has been carried out to minimize the use of raw material, to maximize the pallet efficiency, and to improve its ability to withstand the laboratory scale of transportation simulation tests.The results indicate that all of those three purposes can already be achieved mainly by changing the formation of the primary packages in the box, i.e. from one stack (5x4) into two stacks 2(5x2). However, the best result is shown by the two stacks 2(4x2) of primary packages within the box having dimension of 404x205x395 mm.

Abstract

The living environment must be managed in order that it may be in harmony with the concept of sustainable development. Heavy metals is one of a toxic materials including on the list a hazardous and toxic waste relation by a Government Regulation. The pollution a heavy metals in the water area increase by industrial activities, where to discharge they waste to the ilegal dumping. Effect accumulation of a heavy metals in the marine biota such as fish, kind of mollusca (anadara sp), etc was absorbed, to caused a hazardous and toxic, that may endanger the environment and the health of human beings.

Abstract

Research on wastewater treatment from coconut oil by using local anaerobic bacteria was carried out by continues methods. Local anaerobic bacteria from cattle breeding farm have been acclimated by mix with chemicals for bacteria growth, The TOC load is 1,8 g!Llday, and the removal efficiency of TOC is 75 % this condition not optimal. Mixture between bacteria and waste water and also the distribution of bacteria in the wasreactor was not good there fore condition was not optimal yet. High contain of oil in the wastewater also lower the efficiency.
