Abstract

One of the solution of waste problem is converted them to become a product which can give benefit for human being. Banana peel is a raw material for producing pectin. From five kind 's banana peel which is used the use of ambon 's banana peel produced the higher content of low metoksil pectin, i. e 3 - 5 %, followed by raj a serai 's banana peel, i. e 1 %, low metoksil . Abstract

Wastewater from electroplating industries mainly came from plating bath regeneration and rinsing water. The other usually came from pretreatment process, such as washing solution that used for removal oil, rust and other material. The characteristics of electroplating wastewater were very high metal contain in wastewater, especially chrome hexavalent contains. Another type of wastewater with a high and low pH also emitted from electroplating industries. This research was . conducted to investigate the appropriate conditions to minimize chrome contains in wastewater. This research was started by finding out the Oxidize reduction Potential (ORP) and addition of coagulant. And followed by sedimentation process by using 10 % Al2 (C04)3 as a coagulant and an adition of 0,1 % polymer with pH is 10. The result is evaluated by measuring chrome contains in the effluent. The optimal condition of the treatment 15 as follow : Oxidize Reduction Potential (ORP) is 300 mv retention time is 5 menit, and pH is 2.5. And followed by sedimentation process by using 10% Al2(SO 4)3 as a coagulant and an addition of 0, 1 % polymer with pH

Abstract

Several design of corrugated carton boxes for ceramics vase have been developed by using single and double wall corrugated carton with different gramature 1251125/125,15011501150 and 150112511251150. The evaluation is made by comparing their characteristic through the physical test such as compression, drop and vibration test. The result shows that the single wall corrugated board with gramature 15011501150 have good physical characteristic. With regard to the economic point of view, the gramatur15011501150 single wall corrugated board is recommended for packaging of cearamics vase, especially for export.

Abstract

The combustion of wastes as a by product of polymer industry has been conducted in various ways such as natural combustion, stiring combustion, combustion with air injection or the combination of (he aboves. It was found that the process of combustion with air injection at furnace temperature > 260 °C gives the best result, i.e. it consumes less fuel and the smallest amount of remaining solids.
