Abstract

Diazinon is metabolized in liver becomes diazoxon, an active metabolite form that can cause free radical raisingthat leads to lipid peroxidation. The result of lipid peroxidation is MDA. Soyflour has higher isoflavones than theother processed food of Glycine max L.This isoflavones donate its electron and hydrogen atom in lipidperoxidation so it can block the lipid peroxidation. The aim of this experiment is to investigate the effect of soyflour on MDA hepar level increase of male wistar rat induced by diazinon. The sample are divided into 5 groupswhich are Kn, K(-) group induced by diazinon 40mg/kgBW, K1, K2, K3 group given with soy flour 10%, 15%, and20% orally, then induced by diazinon 40 mg/kgBW. MDA liver measured on the day 34th with MDA-TBAmethode which has pink colour and measured by spectrofotometer. Average of liver MDA levels is Kn 6,35μg/mL; K(-) 9,23 μg/mL; K1 8,85 μg/mL; K2 7,88 μg/mL; K3 7,04 μg/mL. One way ANOVA and Post hoc LSDshowed significantly different (p<0,05). Abstract

Repeated blood transfusions in patient with Major Beta Thalassemia leads to iron overload marks by the increased of serum ferritin levels. Free iron caused the change of H2O2 to oxidants by fenton reaction and caused oxidative stress. These oxidants will be counteracted by GSH as antioxidants. The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between ferritin levels with GSH in patients with major beta thalassemia in RSD dr. Soebandi hospital Jember. The samples of this study are fifteen (15) patients age 1-18 years who were regularly transfused. Serum ferritin levels were measured by Enzyme-Linked Fluorescent Immuno Assay (ELFA) and plasma GSH levels were measured by Ellman method. Data was analyzed using Pearson correlation test. Serum feritin levels were increased in Major Beta Thalassemia children with average of 3540,46 ± 3925,37 ng/mL. The mean of GSH is 10,46 ± 2,58 µmol. We found significant and negative correlation between serum ferritin and GSH with p value=0,000 and r=-0,951 in Major beta thalassemia patient at RSD dr. Soebandi Jember. Abstract

Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is a neurodegenerative disease caused by repetitive brain trauma that cancontinues to be dementia, alzheimer and parkinsonism. Traumatic brain injury increased free radicals in brain thatcaused oxidative stress and induced lipid peroxidation, neuron damage and producing MDA. The purpose is todetermine the correlation between administration of ALA and MDA level in rat’s brain model of traumatic braininjury and its effective dose. Rats are randomLy divided into 7 groups. Normal group without treatment, K(-) wasgiven NaCl 0,9% 1,5 mL, K(+) was given citicoline 6,75 mg, K1 was given ALA 1,0125 mg, K2 was given ALA 2,025mg, K3 was given ALA 4,05 mg, K4 was given ALA 8,1 mg and received 30 days traumatic brain injury treatment bydropped 245 g load on the rat’s head at 35 cm height. MDA level in brain were measured on the 31th day withMDA-TBA method by spectrofotometer. The averages of MDA levels were N 1,64 μg/mL; K(+) 2,09 μg/mL; K(-) 4,87μg/mL; K1 2,73 μg/mL; K2 2,68 μg/mL; K3 2,20 μg/mL and K4 2,02 μg/mL. Pearson’s analysis shows strong andsignificant negative correlation (r= -0,790) between administration of ALA and MDA level in rat’s brain model oftraumatic brain injury (p<0,05). Abstract

Antibiotic resistance is a serious health problem that have ben uneffective therapy. The cause of antibiotic resistance 80% comes from food of animal origin such as Broiler Chicken. E. coli contamination in antibiotic resistant chicken has been shown to transfer genetic factors between bacteria in the human intestinal system. Almost all broiler breeders use commercial feed containing tetracycline antibiotics. The use of antibiotics in the feed mixture is one of the risk factors for resistance. The aim of this study was to get an information of antibiotic resistance E. coli which isolated from broiler meat. Identification test of E. coli used two phase, presumtive test and confirmed test. Sensitivity test for E. coli to antibiotic by disc diffusion Kirby Bauer method. This study used 6 sample of upper thigh broiler meat, the antibiotic use tetracycline. The data were analyzed descriptively. The results of this study show that from 6 isolate sample, there are 4 isolate identificated as E. coli and 2 isolate show resistance to the tetracycline antibiotic. The conclusion of this study showed resistance has occurred on 50% sample.

Abstract

Cassava leaves (Manihot esculenta) contain cyanogenic glylcoside as toxicant. Cyanogenic glycoside can be hydrolized into glucose and cyanohydrin acetone which is then decomposed into cyanide. Cassava leaves are used by the community as a source of food and traditional medicine. However, there is a report of incidents of intoxication and death from cassava consumption in Kenya. This research is intended to know the effect of toxic dose ethanol extract of cassava leaves to liver histopathology of Wistar rats. This study was conducted through two stages, sighting study and main study. Both studies used initial dose level 2000 mg/kg and given once at the first day of each study. Main study consists of two groups, control group given 0,5% Na-CMC and treatment group given ethanol extract of cassava leaves dose 2000 mg/kg. All animals were observed for 14 days. Liver histopathology scores were obtained. Mann Whitney test showed that p= 0,009 (p<0,05) so that can be concluded that ethanol extract of cassava leaves dose 2000 mg/kg can cause histopathological changes in the liver of Wistar rats represented by cloudy swelling degeneration, hydropic degeneration, and necrosis in some cell.

Abstract

Intradialytic hypertension is one of the complications of chronic kidney disease patients (CKD) stadium V undergoing routine hemodialysis. There is still no definite data on incidence of intradialytic hypertension in Indonesia. Therefore, it is important to do further research about the relationship between factors of intraialytic hypertension with incident intradialytic hypertension as preventionefforts morbidity and mortality in patients CKD stadium V undergo hemodialysis. One of the factors is quick of blood (QB). The purpose of this research is to know the connection between QB with intradialytic hypertension on patients PGK stadium V at RSD dr. Soebandi Jember. This research is a type of observational analytic study with cross sectional method which is implemented in the dialysis unit at RSD dr. Soebandi Jember in October 2017. Population and sample in this research are all patients who undergo PGK stadium V routine hemodialysis in RSD dr. Soebandi Jember at a number of 82samples. The data obtained were tested normalitasnya with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test with the results of the significance of 0.71, indicating the data is distributed normally. Pearson test generates the value of significance (p) 0.032 and strong relationship (r) 0.237 indicating that there is a meaningful relationship with the powerful relationship between weak QB with the incidence of hypertension in patients intradialisis CKD stadium V at RSD dr. Abstract

One of the risk factor that can be changed in type 2 diabetes melitus is food consumption. Fat is one of the macronutrients that have significant influence in consumption. Unhealthy diet can be a trigger to macrovascular complication that is coronary heart disease (CHD) which started with atherosclerosis. Atherogenic index is a good predictor for CHD. This study aims to determine the correlation between fat consumption with atherogenic index in DMT 2 patients at RSD dr. Soebandi. This is an analitic observational study with cross sectional design, using 74 type 2 diabetes melitus patients from Internal Poly at RSD dr. Soebandi who met inclusion and exclusion criteria. Fat consumption were obtained with 24-hours food recall interview and atherogenic index were obtained from TG and HDL levels in medical record. The average of fat consumption is 34,01% and as much 33 subjects (44,6%) have high risk of CHD (AI>0,21). Spearman correlation test between fat consumption with atherogenic index is p=0,025 which mean there is significant correlation between fat consumption and atherogenic index in type 2 diabetes melitus patients at RSD dr. Abstract

Malaria is still an infectious disease that can not be eradicated. The presence of antimalarial drug resistance case encourages the research on herbal plants that are expected to be a complementary therapy drug of malaria, one of them is bangle (Zingiber cassumunar Roxb.). This research aimed to investigate the effect of bangle (Zingiber cassumunar Roxb.) rhizome ethanol extract to the histopathological changes of Wistar rats liver during acute toxicity test. This research type was true experimental laboratories with posttest only control group design using four treatment groups (given dose 42,609 mg/200gBW + Tween 1%, 213,045 mg/200gBW + Tween 1%, 426,09 mg/200gBW + Tween 1%, and 852.18 mg/200gBW + Tween 1%) and one control group (given 1% Tween). Each treatment groups consisted of five male rats and five female rats. The final mean score of hepatocyte damage as the research data was analyzed by One-Way ANOVA test and showed that p=0,084. Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia has abundant stock of Tamarindus indica seeds, but it is not yet utilized maximally, especially in medical field. Tamarindus indica seeds have high content of polyphenols compound. No reseacrh is supported by in silico data on polyphenol compound in Tamarindus indica seeds extract. Polyphenols compound can be utilized as a neuroprotective agent. This research aims to measure polyphenols concentration in methanol Tamarindus indica seeds extract and determine the anti inflammation and antioxidant potential of each polyphenol compound in methanol Tamarindus indica seeds extract by in silico method. The extraction of Tamarindus seeds used maceration method and methanol as solvent. Identification and measurement of polyphenols compound applied HLPC-MS. PyMol and Pyrx tools were used for in silico analysis. Extract recidu was obtained from methanol Tamarindus indica seeds as much as 12%w/v. HPLC-MS anaysis mentioned that levels of procyanidin B2, myricentin and caffeic acid were respectively 38.850 mg/kg, 5.845 mg/kg and 260 mg/kg. The highest anti inflammatory potential was owned by myricentin than caffeic acid, while the lowest potential in procyanidin B2. Furthermore, the highest antioxidant potential was sequentially in myricentin, procyanidin B2 and caffeic acid. It is very possible to utilize methanol Tamarindus indica seeds extract for preventing neurodegenerative diseases since its pathogenesis involves inflammatory and stress oxidative process. Abstract

Smoking behavior is one problem in schizophrenic patients. The prevalence of smoking in schizophrenic patients is reported 2-4 times greater than the normal population. Nicotine can induce the dopamine release so it increase positive symptom and improve negative symptom also cognitive deficits. These effects are an attempt by schizophrenic patients to reduce the side effects of antipsychotic drugs. This causes the need of increased antipsychotic doses. This study aims to determine the correlation between nicotine dependence level andnegative symptom in Schizophrenic Patients at Psychiatric Department, PTPN XI Djatiroto Hospital Lumajang. This is an analytical observational study with cross sectional study design which uses 30 patients with schizophrenia at Psychiatric Department, PTPN XI Djatiroto Hospital Lumajang who met inclusion and exclusion criteria. Nicotine dependence level and negative symptom were obtained with guided interview based on Fagerström Nicotine Dependence (FTND) questionnaire and score of Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) negative subscale. Spearman correlation test result between these variables is p=0,019 and r=0,426 which means there is significant correlation with moderate strength between nicotine dependence level and negative symptom in Schizophrenic patients at Psychiatric Department, PTPN XI Djatiroto Hospital Lumajang.
