Abstract

This paper offers an action research approach as the method of research that should be done in universities while enhancing the integration of educational activities, research, and community service. This paper discusses some important aspects of action research such as understanding, processes, principles, applications and types of action research. Abstract

This article describes the scope of practice of social responsibility sejauhmanan conducted by the company, what the underlying motive, as well as the availability of coverage the company made   the disclosure in the report tahuanan. The research on this topic empirically based argument that echoes of the past decade It was not followed konsiten by the company in implementing social responsibility, as accountability and openness. The came a series of questions, why is there a company inconsistent behavior, there is a motive behind it, what and how can any portrait of the implementation of social responsibility that has been  The results showed that the availability of corporate accountability and openness in annula report are at a higher gap, ie there are companies doing with full disclosure kesereiusan, even the number of social disclosures reach 600 items. On the other hand, there are also companies simply do disclosure obligations suggested by the rules, even the number of social pengungakapn less than 30 items. The reason that companies use in tersebuit disclosure is a trade of cost and benefit, which, more economic motives as tendencius. The Company made   further disclosures using large part because of social pressure system (system epproech). Viewed from the aspect of social responsibility strategy implementation, there are three approaches, namely: (1) philantrppic, (2) semi-productive partnerships, and (3) productive partnership. Abstract

The aim of this research are to  understand teacher competence relation with organisation practice in PTS. Responden in this research are profesional teacher this receive sertificate profesional from Dikti with 2008 until 2009. The sum of profesional certificate teacher 441 person, in the 2008 size 228 teacher and 2009 size 213 person. Sample zise 120 teacher all of university in PTS central Java. The tool use are descriptive analysis and SEM with AMOS Program serie 5. The results  will describe below: 1). The teacher competence are not relationship with compesation returns. 2) The teacher competence are not alignment with of performance. 3). The competence teacher are not contribution to organisation strategy. 4). The high level education are not improve the teacher compensation. 5). The high level education this improve the teacher compensation. 6). The experience will be improve the teacher compensation. 7).  The experience will be improve job performance. 8). The experience are not results the teacher competence. 9).  The compensation will be improve the teacher compensation. 10). The compentasion are not give the contribution organisastion strategy. 11). Abstract

Intense competition requires companies to further improve corporate performance through a leadership role in motivating subordinates to be able to remove his ideas to create new products that the company expected the company can always have a sustainable competitive advantage to remain competitive with rival companies. The results of this study indicate that: 1) there is a positive influence to the performance characteristics of the leadership of the company, 2) new product innovation has positive and significant impact on company performance, 3) new product innovation has positive and significant impact on sustainable competitive advantage, 4) performance of the company has positive of sustainable competitive advantage.Keywords: characteristics of leadership, new product innovation, company performance, sustainable competitive advantage.

Abstract

A study the relationship between budget participation and managerial performance has interested many research. However, the result of previous studies were not consistent. The inconsistency situation between results of the prior research about the influence of budget participation on managerial performance become a motivation of this study. The purpose of this reseach is to examine the influence of relationship of participation in composing budget and managerial performance with used organizational commitment, leadership style, and job-relevant information as moderating variable.The population of this research was BPR companies located in Semarang and the sample was using BPR manager’s. Data for this study were collected by using questionnaires, which were distributed to 50 BPR manager’s in 10 BPR companies located in Semarang. The sampling method used is purposive judgment sampling. In total 40  questionnaires received, 38 were complete and hence usable in analysis. Analysis hypothesis is using multiple regression analysis  of SPSS program. The results of this study show that budget participation has significant effect for managerial performance, organizational commitment has significant effect for relationship between budget participation and managerial performance,style of leadership has significant effect for relationship between budget participation and managerial performance, job-relevant information has significant effect for relationship between budget participation and managerial performance.Key words : organizational commitment, style of  leadership, job-relevant information, budget participation, managerial performance.

Abstract

Public trust in the public accounting profession directly relating to quality inspection and one important element is the independence of its quality control, then an auditor in an audit carried out must be qualified. So that can give confidence and assurance to the fairness and reliability of the information presented. Because independence is a hallmark of an auditor, the auditor is required of inner honesty accountant when considering the facts and the consideration of objective, unbiased in formulating and stating his opinion. Quality is a difficult thing to measure so that makes it a sensitive matter for individual behavior to audit. Problem behavior is influenced by the orientation of auditors within the ethics of auditors (idealism and relativism) and external factors outside the auditor himself is competition among public accounting firms and audit fees. Because each accounting public office firm was faced with two options ie to lose clients because clients looking for other firms or issuing an opinion in accordance with the wishes of the client.These results, Idealism, audit fees, competition among public accounting firm, relativism significant effect on independence, but the idealism and relativism of no significant impact on audit quality, while the independence of significant effect on audit quality. Abstract

The controversy about superiority of market model or multi-factors model keeps as interesting research theme in finance. This paper try to analyse some return generating models using several individual stocks and a portfolio composed from six listed stocks in Jakarta Islamic Index. The result shows that market model outperforms multifactors or macro model. Abstract

Changes that occured in the global business environment  increase the competition among higher education institutions. Each of the institutions attempting to offer higher services performance and showing the benefits, the uniqueness, and the competence of the institutions in order to fullfil the need of the community. Highly competition among private college has a positive impact in improving their service and education quality, but in opposite have a negative impact in decreasing the number of students at many private universities, and increasing the bankruptcy  risk of the college. In general, private college depends on their student fees. It needs a hard effort to get to maintain as well as get students. This study analyzes the iinterest of students in  institution’s image and competitive advantages of Wahid Hasyim Semarang University. Research problems emerge from 2 (two) things: first, it comes from research gap from previously research literature, eg, referring to the limitations and research directions and inconsistence results of the previous findings such as the Thomas E. Decarlo.dkk; Jyh-Shen Chiou and Cornelia Droge (2006), Shue-Ching Hong, and YJ James Goo (2004), Yoo et al. (2000), Dodds et al. (1991), Radnor and Lovell (2003), Grewal, Monroe, and Krishan (1998). The second problem comes from the data found that provide overall excellence and interest of the Wahid Hasyim University students. This research was conducted to determine the factors that influence the institutions image and brand that will increase the Perceived Quality of Unwahas excellency. This research developed a theoretical model in proposing four hypotheses and examined using Structural Equation Model (SEM).
