Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan  menemukan  dan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja kepala SMA berbasis Islam di Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini disebut dengan cross sectional research. Dalam menganalisis hubungan antar variabel digunakan pendekatan statistik uji analisis jalur (path analysis). Pengujian terdiri atas pengujian hipotesis secara simultan dan pengujian hipotesis secara individu dengan taraf kesalahan α = 5%.  Sampel yang diteliti adalah 15% dari jumlah populasi yaitu 57 sekolah dari 348 sekolah berbasis Islam yang ada di Provinsi jawa Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku kepemimpinan, motivasi, kemampuan manajerial dan sistem kompensasi merupakan empat faktor yang secara langsung maupun tidak mempengaruhi kinerja kepala SMA berbasis Islam di Jawa Barat. Besarnya pengaruh masing-masing faktor yaitu; 1) kepemimpinan sebesar 25,6%; 2) motivasi kerja sebesar 7,7%; 3) kemampuan manajerial sebesar 22,6%; dan 4) sistem kompensasi sebesar 8,0%. Urutan besarnya penilaian terhadap faktor-faktor tersebut yaitu 4.17 dengan tingkat kesesuaian 90,35%; 4.01 dengan tingkat kesesuaian 83,34%; 4.34 dengan tingkat kesesuaian 92,18%; 3.48 dengan tingkat kesesuaian sebesar 77,31%.

Abstract

This paper attempts to redefine the concept of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), especially in the field of moral education, which is confronted with the problem in the present context: weak character of the nation. The study is based on these three things: 1) the material of akhlaq is being the public concern, 2) it is also the core of Islamic teachings, and 3) The term „akhlaq‟ experiences limitation in terms of meaning in PAI. The method of discussion used is the philosophical of Islamic education. The data is processed through the discourse analysis, then discussed in accordance with the context and the present needs, and synthesized with actual and universal values of Islamic teachings. The results showed that 1) the core of PAI is building character, not merely teaching rituals, 2) The materials about „akhlak‟ do not cover the contemporary issues such as how Muslims in Indonesia live better as the member of the state and the nation, 3) there is a meaningful relation between ethics, morals and characters in the context of PAI. PAI which is based on akhlak, moral principles and character should consider: 1) integration, 2) relativity, 3) environment, 4) reciprocity, and 5) the relevance or adaptation. The five principles are essentially avoiding the symbolic PAI practices which is formalist, apologetics and fanatical.

Abstract

This paper intends to unravel the leadership internal conflict that generally happened in all State Islamic College in Indonesia, especially in the institutions named Institute (IAIN) and high school (STAIN). These issues was revealed by using case study. The selected case is STAIN Kudus in Central Java. Data were collected through interviews, observation and documentation study. The data was then analyzed using Miles and Huberman interactive model and based on the theory of transactional leadership proposed by Yulk (1998), the theory of effective leadership from Razik (1995) and models of leadership (Muhammad SAW) of Islam. The results showed that internal leadership conflicts that occurred in STAIN Kudus is the impact of 'direct election' mechanism in selecting the chairman in the late 2005. The battle between the winning and losing camps continues to become a long-drawn leadership internal conflicts. The conflicts apparently decrease the performance of the lecturers. It is characterized by shifting the focus of the lecturers‟s performances from academic to political performance.

Abstract

The purpose of this study explore the prophetic value of Islamic education in tackling trafficking. This research method is a survey in Cirebon and Indramayu against trafficked women. Islamic education contribute prophetic value in addressing trafficking in terms of; first, to identify the source of the problem. If the problem is poverty and low education, it is necessary to adopt policies to encourage the provision of Islamic education. The government is obliged to protect the welfare of the people persecuted and create; secondly, make regulations in favor of workers, especially women who are vulnerable to trafficking victims. The trick, the government should seriously implement the Presidential Decree No. 88/2002 on the National Action Plan for the Elimination of Trafficking in Women and Children and urged Parliament to back-up the provision of sanctions through Law Crime of Trafficking in Persons. Third, encourage the participation of the clergy to be involved in the response to trafficking through the non-formal Islamic education such as sermons, lectures or fatwa.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the other side of the Pesantren that has been stereotyped as a conservative, traditional, and old fashioned islamic education institution. The research used the historical method. Particularly, it attempted to analyze and interprete as well as crosscheck between the primary pesantren texts gained from bookstore flea market and the writings of Orientalists‘ displayed in the bookstore in Supermall which is always regarded to be more valid by the researchers of Islamic education. The findings showed that in pesantren, students were taught to be democratic, tolerant to others, respect differences (pluralism), and cosmopolitan to science. Moreover, those attitudes proved to be a fundamental ideology of our nation. In other words, understanding Pesantren actually understands how to love the nation and the State of Indonesia. Thus, education in pesantren refers to education of Islamic boarding schools intended to inculcate and love their own people.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce synectic learning model in order to develop students' creative thinking skills in teaching Social Studies in the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. This research was conducted using research and development approach. Validation testing was performed in five madrasas of which the qualification are considered good, moderate and less. This study was developed by doing experiments and comparing between Synectic Learning Model (KE) and Conventional Model KK). Validation test results indicated that students' ability to think creatively was different between the test results of the experimental group (α ≤ .0001) and the control group (α ≤ .0001). The result of this study concluded that: 1) Synectic Learning Model is the learning model proposed by Gordonsynectic. The development and modifications were made based on the condition and capability of students in the l Environtment of Elementary Madrasah; 2) The Implementation of synectic learning model can improve learning conditions on the subjects of Social Studies in Elementary Madrasah; 3) synectic learning model is effective to enhance creative thinking skills and student learning outcomes on the subjects of Social Sciences, as well as improving teacher performance.

Abstract

The aim of the paper is to describe strategy improve the quality of Islamic religious education teacher candidates at some private colleges. The method of the paper was qualitative. Instruments of data collection are observation, interview and document analysis. Analysis used interactive. The result are 1) strengthen islamic science throught mentoring cocurriculer, 2) splitting of Islamic religion learning methodology be a fiqh, akhlaq, and tawheed; 3) applicating of the computer instruction based on internet to up-date the materials of Islamic Religion, 4) involving the boarding school, 5) built think like a teacher and act like a teacher all together more integrated with intra, co, and extracurricular.

Abstract

This paper intends to outline the contribution of psychology of religion psychotherapy that evolved into a religion psychoteraphy with style Islamic (Sufi) on education, especially Islamic education. The approach used in this paper is Philosophical approach that is examining the structure of tasawuf psychotherapy that is further analyzed in the context of Islamic education discourse. The pattern of tasawuf psychoteraphy can be implemented in education, specifically in Islamic education, both substantively, methodically, and didactically. Substantively Islamic education aims to teach, improve, form and fix morals of madzmûmah to be karîmah moral. Methodically, Islam is not only as an educational institution that solely transfers knowledge to the students, but also as a guide, counselor and healer agency for students, parents, teachers and even society itself. Didactically, the relationship between teacher and student is like mursyid and his students. Professional teacher in Sufi‟s understanding is the teacher who has occupied a certain maqâmat as zuhud, wara', taubah, and patient so that he has the maturity and politeness in facing the students.

Abstract

This paper aims to assess alternative sources of education funding in madrasah through corporate social responsibility program (CSR). The approach used is descriptive analytic. The realization of CSR program is not perceived real yet by the madrasah. Previous research indicates that CSR tends to be more concerned with those who have power to influence the company (shareholders) and provides very little benefit to society and the environment. Madrasah, as one of the Islamic schools in Inodnesia, Has no strong bargaining power which results in receiving no fund allocation from CSR. Madrasah is potential to get this funding by considering the following aspects: 1) the location of madrasah gets direct impacts of the company, 2) the madrasah is participated in CSR program, 3) the madrasah has performed accountability/transparency security regarding financial management. In the company, CSR programs should ideally be used as a trade mark, as a form of corporate social responsibility to the public interest, particularly to the education in madrasah which commonly belongs to the public, but has minimum funding.

Abstract

This paper aims to examine the possibility of spiritual values that is integrated with subject-matter of general subjects, especially science (IPA). The method of analysis in this paper adopts the basic principles of values education in Islam is monotheism, science and morals, which is based on the integration of knowledge between public science with the science of religion (non-dichotomous). Integration of Islamic values in the science learning manifest in the pattern of the overall science learning (integral-holistic) appreciates the existence of a general science or science as the study of Islamic religious knowledge as well as responding to the needs of society and the family. In regard to the implementation of learning the values of unity, stimulating science search continuously and pay attention to aspects of students' moral and noble character.
