Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan memaparkan (a) cerita Calon Arang sebagai mitos otonomi, (b) konteks historis cerita Calon Arang, (c) tradisi otonomi ?Duplang Kamal-Pandak? zaman kerajaan, dan (d) implikasi cerita Calon Arang bagi solusi konflik separatisme pada abad modern. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan menerapkan pendekatan sastra lisan. Sasaran penelitian ini adalah konsep otonomi dalam cerita ?Calon Arang? dan relevansinya dengan situs sejarah Rajegwesi-Blambangan kuno di Lawang Seketheng dan situs ?Duplang Kamal-Pandak? di Arjasa Jember. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan metode (a) dokumentasi, (b) observasi, dan (c) wawancara bebas-mendalam. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode heuristik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cerita rakyat ?Calon Arang? merupakan mitos ilmu pengetahuan tentang cara mengatasi konflik separatisme di Jawa pada zaman dahulu. Situs Duplang di Arjasa Jember merupakan bukti solusi konflik yang terjadi pada zaman pemerintahan raja Airlangga dengan otonomi daerah. Pengetahuan tentang otonomi dalam cerita Calon Arang relevan untuk dipertimbangkan sebagai solusi alternatif dalam menyelesaikan konflik separatisme. Kata-Kata Kunci: separatisme, otonomi, cerita ?Calon Arang? Abstract: This study aims to explain (a) Calon Arang as a myth of autonomy, (b) the historical con-text of Calon Arang, (c) the tradition of ?Duplang Kamal-Pandak autonomy, and (d) the implica-tions of Calon Arang as a solution to overcome separatist conflict in the modern age. This research was conducted by applying the oral literature approach. The target of this research is the concept of autonomy in the story of "Calon Arang" and its relevance to the historical sites of Rajegwesi in Lawang Seketheng and "Duplang Kamal-Pandak" in Arjasa Jember. The data were collected by (a) documentation, (b) observation, and (c) in-depth interviews. Data analysis was performed using heuristic methods. The results showed that ?Calon Arang folklore? is a scientific myth on how to solve the separatist conflict in Java. ?Duplang Kamal-Pandak?in Arjasa Jember is a proof how to solve conflict that occurred during King Airlangga era using regional autonomy approach. Auto-nomy approach in ?Calon Arang? is relevant to be considered as a solution in solving the separatist conflict. Key Words: separatism, autonomy, story of "Calon Arang?

Abstract

This paper is aimed to describe the stories of Supernova 1 to identify the fiction and non? fiction dialectics and also to represent science aspect in Supernova novel Episode Ksatria, Puteri, dan Bintang Jatuh (Supernova 1) through the relationship of intertextuality. We can find five stories in novel Supernova 1, they are the stories about Ruben-Dhimas, Ferre-Rana-Arwin, Diva, Supernova, and classic fairy tale knight, princess, and falling star. The dialectics between fiction and non-fiction in Supernova I are found through some indications, such as cover, tittle, scientific process of writing method in fiction such as the use of footnote, the insert of bibliography and index, and also preface, the dynamic of character, events arragernent that make plot, mentioning 'keping' to change chapter. Science aspect in Supernova 1 are not only a pacth but they are represented in text structure. The transformation of science elements in novel Supernova 1 are more affirmative with hypogram that is referred by some expansion. That science elements are astronomy, chaos theory (it covers Lorenz butterflies and fractal geometri), Schrodinger, co-evolution, and non-linear theories.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengungkapkan hasrat pengarang dalam novel A Thousand Splendid Suns karya Khaled Hosseini, yang merupakan hasrat-hasrat pengarang sebagai subjek yang berkekurangan dan berhasrat untuk memperoleh keutuhan identitasnya. Penelitian ini menjawab dua pertanyaan: bagaimana hasrat Khaled Hosseini termanifestasikan dalam novel A Thousand Splendid Suns?; ?hasrat menjadi? dan ?hasrat memiliki? Khaled Hosseini yang seperti apa yang termanifestasikan dalam novel A Thousand Splendid Suns? Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan teori dan metode psikoanalisis Lacan. Psikoanalisis Lacan membahas hasrat manusia melalui bahasa (penanda) dengan mekanisme metafora dan metonimia. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa novel A Thousand Splendid Suns merupakan manifestasi dari hasrat dan kekurangan yang ada pada diri Khaled Hosseini sebagai pengarang melalui hasrat untuk menjadi (narsistik) dan hasrat memiliki (anaklitik).This study reveals the author's desire in Khaled Hosseini's A Thousand Splendid Suns, which is the author's desires as a subject of lack and desires to obtain his identity. This study will answer two questions: 1) How does Khaled Hosseini's desire manifested in A Thousand Splendid Suns?; 2) What is the Khaled Hosseini?s desire-to-be and desire-to-have manifested in A Thousand Splendid Suns?. This study was done by using theory and method of Lacanian psychoanalysis. Lacanian psychoanalysis discusses human desire through language (signifier) with metaphor and metonymy mechanisms. The results prove that A Thousand Splendid Suns is a manifestation of the desires and lack that exist in Khaled Hosseini as the author through the desire to be (narcissistic) and the desire to have (anaclitic).

Abstract

This article is purposed to describe the composition of Mustofa Bisri. By credo la ilaha ilallah, Mustafa Bisri creates the painting and literature area without pay attention to the comment of the critics about his work. His works are considered as a part of amar makrufnahi munkar that he wants to be built, with credo and that spirit, Mustofa Bisri presents more issues related with the correlation between man and his peer, in social level and a man with his god in individual level. His critics are not only for an administrator that related with the people but also to the community and an individual. Even though his critics to the administration are too sharp, Mustofa Bisri is always escaped from the capture and restraint. It is not only because of his figure as Kiai Nadiatul Ulama that supported by his students but also because of his competence in forming his critics to the language that is impressed jokes, by turning around the words like his poem mbeling. His poems reflex his view and attitude to the authorization in the New Orde era and the freedom in the reformation era.

Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini membahas tentang pembentukan diskursus, pembentukan dan pengawasan subjek diskursif, dan perlawanan subjek terhadap diskursus di novel The Water Knife karya Paolo Bacigalupi. Data yang berhasil dikumpulkan dari The Water Knife dianalisis dengan metode arkeo-genealogi Foucault melalui dua tahapan: pembacaan arkeologi dan pembacaan genealogi.Hasil temuannya adalah ada empat formasi yang membentuk suatu diskursus, yaitu formasi objek diskursus, formasi penyampaian diskursus, formasi konsep diskursus, dan formasi strategi diskursus. Mekanisme pembentukan subjek diskursif dilakukan dengan empat tahapan, yaitu pemusatan individu dari masyarakat, pelatihan kontrol aktivitas pada tubuh, pengujian tubuh individu pada tingkatan tertentu, dan penciptaan subjek sebagai body-machine of discourse.  Mekanisme pengawasan subjek diskursif dilakukan melalui tiga cara, yaitu pengawasan hierarki, penciptaan norma, dan examination sebagai pengawasan intensif. Dampak dari diskursus dominan adalah perlawanan terhadap diskursus dominan. Ada dua cara perlawanan di novel yaitu parrhesia sebagai sarana dikontinuitas diskursus dan the care of the self sebagai perlawanan diskursus dominan. Kata-Kata Kunci : arkeo-genealogi, formasi diskursus, subjektivitas, parrhesia Abstract : This research is conducted to elaborate discursive formations, formation and surveillance of discursive subject, and the subject?s struggle towards the discourse in Paolo Bacigalupi?s The Water Knife. Data that is successfully collected is analyzed using Foucault?s acheo-genealogy method through two steps: archeology reading and genealogy reading. The results is that there four formations that form a discourse. They are object, enunciative, conceptual, and strategy formation. The mechanism of discursive formation done though four steps; centering individual from society, training of control the activity of the body, testing individual?s body in the certain degree, and creating subject as body-machine of discourse. The mechanism of surveillance is done through three ways; hierarchial control, norms forming, and examination as intensive control. The effect of discourse is the rebellion against the discourse. There are two ways in the novel; parreshia as the discourse discontinuity and the care of the self for against the discourse. Keywords : arkeo-genealogy, discursive formation, subjectivity, parrhesia

Abstract

Abstrak: Jumlah penduduk dari ethnic China di Malaysia menduduki urutan ketiga, setelah etnik Melayu dan India.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan interaksi simbolik untuk membangun citra etnik China di Malaysia dalam kumpulan cerpen Menara 7.  Dengan meminjam teori interaksi simbolik sebagai dasar,  dalam cerpen-cerpen yang ditulis oleh pengarang beretnik China, usaha membangun citra ditampakkan melalui penggunaan judul, penokohan, serta  misi budaya di dalamnya. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa cerita pendek juga digunakan untuk sarana diplomasi budaya secara intern, sebagai menifestasi sastra bertendes.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to reveal the internal conflict and struggle of Irina, the main character in novellete "Batu Sandung", one of the novelletes in Batu Sandung created by Ratna Indraswari Ibrahim. The main reason of Irina internal conflict emergence is the surrounding reaction on her physical defect. Her success is achieved through her struggle in exploring her surround. The discussion of the main character's internal conflicts and struggle is using Alfred Adler's individual psychology theory/approach. This paper reveals: (1) Irina's internal conflict; and (2) Irina's struggle to reach her success through: (a) gaining the strenght from the inside, (b) developing subjective conviction, (c) developing social interest, and (d) gaining creative self strength.

Abstract

This paper aims at explaining the development of creative industry-based oral literature. Banyuwangi's oral literature has autonomously developed along with tradition and modern arts, such as janger, fashion, dance, and song. The use of ethnographic method began with an inventory of bibliographic data and was supplemented by field data through interviews, observations, and participation. The story of Sri Tanjung Sidopekso becomes the janger play and theme of Banyuwangi Ethno Carnival. The mantra of jaran goyang  is transformed into dance and song. Various creative industries have the potential as a source of reconstructing oral literature. In coastal societies there has developed oral literature related to maritime culture. In Muncar Banyuwangi, the rituals of petik laut  use spells and maritime cultural symbols, such as mantras, pilgrimages to the tombs of the founders of the Muncar fishing village. While in Payangan Jember, the story of the founders of the fishing village is respected by singing macapat babad Marsodo. All that has a meaning when it becomes action, knowledge, experience, and appreciation of the supporting community. The results show that oral literature has the potential to inspire the creative industries. Likewise reversely, creative industries have the potential as a source for reconstructing oral literature that enriches their forms and versions.

Abstract

Ehabla is one of oral poetry in Sentani, Papua that is almost extinct. It is sung spontaneously, without background of notes and memorization. The singer prepares plot and theme that will be elaborated in the performance, Ehabla can be transcribed into 4 lines that is dominated by repetition and parallelism. The first line is repeated in the third line, the second line is repeated in the fourth line. Essentially, the third and the fourth lines are the repetition of the first and the second lines. The repetition is enriched by synonym and reduplication. Ehabla that expresses the socio-cultural life of Sentani people can be used as media of (1) education (pedagogical system) that teaches hard work, cooperation, pride, respecting tradition, proud of birthplace, respecting natural environment; (2) reflection of Sentani people's idealization on ideal village, ideal society, and ideal leaders; (3) legitimacy of traditions; (4) forcing and watching; (5) sharpening the emotion of religion and belief; and (6) entertainment. For Sentani people who live in some remote areas in some islands, the singing and function of ehabla are still responded even though its socialization is not positively responded by the young generation. For Sentani people who live near the city, the singing and function of ehabla are not again responded by both old and young generation. This is caused by the influence of new traditions, technology, and globalization. The only function that is still alive is the function of entertainment.
