Abstract

Abstract

Literary of history is a literary work that contains elements of history. Those elements are removed through characterizations, places, and events. “Luka Beku” by Hary B. Kori’un is a short story contained those elements. Through a historical approach, this analysis presents the historicity contained in this short story. This analysis also uses mimetic approach, because this short story is a work of imaginative truth which is artificial. As a result of analysis, there is a description about a historical event in “Luka Beku”, that is May 1998 riot in Jakarta.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to compare Conformal Cubic Atmospheric Model (CCAM) and Global Forecast System (GFS) prediction against GFS initial condition as control up to 7 days in the future over Indonesia and northern subtropical regions of Indonesia in September – October – November (SON) 2008. Comparison was conducted in spatially to observe the similarity pattern by calculating spatial correlation value for some basic parameters in several pressure vertical levels. The result described that output of both models showed general similarity pattern in SON 2008 over Indonesia and northern subtropical regions of Indonesia, obtained spatial correlation values indicated GFS prediction was slightly better compared by CCAM prediction. For some parameters, CCAM output showed a particular problem in low-pressure vertical level (250mb). There was probably a problem with the vertical interpolation of the GFS initial data onto the CCAM conformal-cubic grid.

Abstract

Until now, the highest level of women representation in Indonesian parliament is 18%, obtained from theelection in 2009. Political party as the only formal political instrument that is recognized by law has an importantrole to solve the problem. The study, which is based on Anne Phillips and Burnheim’s theory of political representation, found that political parties have a low commitment to involve women in party’s structure and electoralprocess. By using qualitative research methods, the study found that the role of parties in the political process hasnot been used optimally to improve the representation of women in parliament.

Abstract

Organic electrocoating process is the plating process using organic material to be plate on the conductor materials. The process is almost the same with other electroplating process, but they have several benefits such asno hazardous content, the plating sequence more shorter than electroplating process, and is possible to depositeng clear or tinted polyurethane plating. The organic electrocoating steps consist of surface treatment which is immersing the sample to the alkaline soak cleaner solution than acid mild dipping, continue to deionised rinse, organicelectrocoating, deionised rinse, post dye, and curing. The result of the experiment shows that the optimal Organic electrocoating process is held at voltage 35–40 V to give the best surface layer.

Abstract

Anthracnose (Colletotrichum acutatum) is considered as the major disease in chilli. Resistant variety isimportant for controlling infection of disease, since fungicide application and other cultural controlled methodswere not effective. The aim of this research was to estimate combining ability and heterosis of chilli resistanceto anthracnose. Set population of half diallel crosses which involved 6 parents and 15 crosses with C. acutatumisolate BKT 04 were used in this experiment. Mature green fruit were inoculated using a microinjection method.Disease resistant percentage and lesion diameter were used for estimating of combining ability. Disease incidenceand lesion diameter were used for estimating heterosis. General combining ability of IPB C15 was high for diseaseresistance percentage and lesion diameter. Specific combining ability of IPB C15 x IPB C9 was high for diseaseresistance percentage and specific combining ability of IPB C15 x IPB C10 and IPB C4 x IPB C2 were high forlesion diameter. Negative heterosis was expected in disease resistance traits; IPB C15 x IPB C9 had negativeheterosis for disease incidence and IPB C10 x IPB C9 had negative heterosis for lesion diameter.

Abstract

Getting new varieties according to consumer preferences   can be carried out through crossbreeding (hy bridization) between elected elders. The results of such crossbreeding must be characterized and sorted to obtain new superior varieties that show the expected appearance of phenotype. The research aimed to get information about phenotypical appearance diversity and heritability value of some characters of some papaya hybrids. The study was conducted from March 2011 to February 2012 at the Sumani Research Station, Tropical Fruit Research Institute. The research was arranged in a randomized block design with six treatments and three replications. Each unit consisted of eight plants. The results showed that the phenotypical appearances such as fruit weight, fruit girth, fruit cavity width, and a larger number of perfect flowers, was influenced by genetic factors and had high heritability values. Genotypes  P 13, P 14, P 21, and P 31 could be the superior variety candidates because of their early maturity, low height of first flower and first fruit, i.e. < 1 m (low bearing), medium-sized fruit, thick fruit flesh and sweet taste, and PTT > 13° Brix. Some of papaya hybrids are expected to be new superior varieties of papaya Indonesian.

Abstract

The median of birth interval in Indonesia is quite high which is 43,7 months. This figure can be classified asan ideal birth interval. However, the percentage point of the number of ideal birth interval only increases slowly(0,06 % annually). The findings of previous studies revealed that women’s status affected birth interval. Thus, thecurrent research aims to identify the influence of women’s status on birth interval in Indonesia context. The dataemployed in this study is taken from the 2007 Indonesia Demographic and Health Survey. The number of sampleused is 32.985 ever married women. The multinomial logistic regression is chosen for analysing the data since thedependent variables (birth interval) are categorical. The results of this study shows that educational level, wealthindex and the involvement of women in decision making related to the health services acquirement influences birthinterval.
