Abstract

Cakung floodway is a drainage channel that plays an importance rule for the overall of drainage system in Jakarta. Rainfall in 2013 and 2014 produced a big flood in Jakarta. Based on flood map Jakarta 2013 and 2014, there are inundated areas due to 2013’s and 2014’s rainfall. So, it is necessary to analyze the flood water level in channel floodway. Using HEC-RAS, this study aimed to evaluate the water level due to the maximum rainfall in 2013 and 2014. HEC-RAS is a tool for 1D hydraulic modeling and has reliability in routing of canal water level or river flooding. The results show that the maximum rainfall in 2013 provides a significant increasing of water level in Cakung floodway compared with the maximum rainfall in 2014. Soon, the need for canal normalization to reduce flood water level in Cakung floodway should be considered.

Abstract

Petrozon Rossy-22 is one of hydrocarbon refrigerants which environmentally safe, since there is no effect on either ozone depletion or global warming. In the refrigeration cycle, imperfect vacuuming process or other factors that permit circulation of air taken place in the system predicted influencing heat transfer rate in condenser. Therefore, research on the influence of air fraction against condensation heat transfer coefficient of Petrozon Rossy-22 inside vertical pipe to be done. A modified refrigeration system of vapor compression was applied in this research, where the condensation was done in the 2 meters straight vertical condenser (double pipe heat exchanger, that further called as test section). The diameter of internal and external pipe were ¾” and 1 ¼” respectively. Electric heater was installed on upstream of the test section. Mixture of air- refrigerant was flowed downward inside internal pipe, while cooling water was flowed upward through annulus. The varied parameters were: air fraction, air-refrigerant and cooling water flow rate. The result of the research indicated that condensation heat transfer coefficient significantly decreased when air fraction increased. The proposed empiric equation is :       Nu = 0.0138. (1-w)8.8198. Re0.7941. Pr4.7315with determination coefficient of 0.6927 and average absolute deviation of 17.65 %. The equation was for Re= 6.922-12.953, Pr= 2,008-2,696, and w= (0,25-1)%.

Abstract

Both water and health are inter-connected things. Water is used for many daily needs. In Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, water needs are quite big, such as for bathroom needs, laboratory, mosque and other places. Because of that, water quality in campus need to be examined in order to fulfill requirement of Indonesia Health Ministry (KepMenKes No. 907/2002). That requirement is about water conditions and supervision. This study aimed to analyze the ability of water treatment equipment used by doing analysis of Fe and DO parameters.

Abstract

The paper presents the effectiveness of voltage stability indices for dynamic power system modelling study in providing information about the proximity of voltage collapse in power system. Four simple stability indices as Voltage Instability Predictor (VIP), Impedance Stability Index (ISI), Line Index (L index) and Voltage Collapse Prediction Index (VCPI) are compared using WSCC 9 bus test system. The comparison show the ISI and VCPI are much more reliable indicator, give the fast indication and fast time computation than L index for voltage collapse in dynamics voltage collapse prediction.

Abstract

Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) is a big and high-grade educational institution. During the period of 1998-2014, UMY has produced about 20550 graduates. But, the big number of graduates is not supported by a good data storage system. Whereas those data are needed in filling up the accreditation form. For that reason, we have to build an integrated data storage system to provide graduates data as needed, that is graduate data mart. The development of graduate data mart uses SDLC Model Waterfall method. This method involves several types, there are requirement analysis, design system, implementation system, testing system, and maintenance system and those must be done sequentially. If there is an error, the process must be repeated from the beginning to fix the error. Development of graduate data mart uses Operational Data Store (ODS) and Dimensional Data Store (DDS) architecture. Those architectures are selected because they support transactional level. By using those architectures, graduate data mart is capable to display the data of graduates on the academic year, GPA, educational years, and the status of the student transfers. As the result, those data are able to help the management of university in filling up the accreditation form.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the cash flow and the feasibility of the building investment project of Perumahan Aura Tirta Graha Banjarnegara. The data used in this study were collected from the contractor. The collected data were classified into two groups: primary and secondary data. The primary data cover the direct detailed examination of the research objectives. The data were collected by doing interview and observation. On the other hand, the secondary data were the historic data dealing with the plan and implementation of the project. In this study, there were several methods carried out in measuring the criterion of investment feasibility, i.e.: Break Event Point (BEP), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback Period (PP), and Profitability Index (PI).  Evaluation results show that every method demonstrated various performance of the investment appropriateness. From the analysis, it can be concluded that the development plan of Perumahan Aura Tirta Graha Banjarnegara has been carefully analyzed and properly implemented.

Abstract

Power System Stabilizers (PSS) are added to excitation systems, in order to enhance the damping of electric power system during low frequency oscillations. For large scale power systems comprising of many interconnected machines, the PSS parameter tuning is a complex exercise due to the presence of several poorly damped modes of oscillation. The problem is further being complicated by continuous variation in power system operating conditions. In the simultaneous tuning approach, exhaustive computational tools are required to obtain optim um parameter settings for the PSS, while in the case of sequential tuning, although the computational load is fewer, evaluating the tuning sequence is an additional requirement. There is a further problem of eigenvalue drift. This research proposes the PSS model based on IEEE Standard 421.5 PSS 4B for designing robust power system stabilizers for a multi machine system. Simulations were carried out using several fault tests at transmission line on a Two-Area Multimachine Power System. As a reference the PSS model, Delta w PSS and Delta Pa PSS has been used for comparison with the PSS under consideration. The result shows that power transfer response using the model is more robust than Delta w PSS and Delta Pa PSS, especially for three phase faults and phase to ground faults.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of various drying and tempering durations on rice quality using thin layer drying. The drying procedure consist four satge; first rough rice was dried in a drying chamber for various durations to remove 5 to 8 % moisture content (M.C). In the second stage rice was tempered under the room temperature for certain duration, to reduce MC gradients within the kernels. tempering period. The rice was then dried further to reach the final 14 % M.C. After the second drying the rice was tempered. Drying process was conducted using  heated air at temperature of either 50 0C, RH 26%  or  60 0C, RH 17%. The results  show that very small  reduction in Head Rice Yield (HRY) when  less than 6 % m.c, were removed during the first drying stage. Effects on HRY was obeserved when the moisture removal was greater than 6% m.c. during the 1st drying stage. It was also observed that tempering time could not prevent the reduction in HRY when moisture remomal was higher than 6% M.C. during the 1st drying stage.

Abstract

Concrete is one of the most commonly used materials for construction. Due to the increased of concrete demand, the need for alternative material to substitute natural aggregate becomes crucial. In this study HDPE plastic waste was used as artificial aggregate. HDPE was mixed with natural coarse aggregate at variation of 0%, 10%, 15% and 20%. Compressive test and split tensile tests were performed on concrete age of 28 days. The compressive strength of concrete decreased with the addition of HDPE levels. The result shows that the highest value of compressive strength was 27,88 MPa on 0% HDPE and the lowest value was 11,08 MPa on 20% HDPE mixture. The highest split tensile strength achieved by normal concrete of 2,71 MPa. Split tensile strength of concrete gradually decreased with the addition of HDPE variations. The lowest value of tensile strength was obtained from variation of 20% HDPE plastic waste that is equal to 1.72 MPa. From the analysis it can be concluded that the replacement of coarse aggregate crushed stone with HDPE plastic waste reduce split tensile strength of concrete.

Abstract

Generator Sinyal mempunyai peranan penting dalam identifikasi sinyal biomedik. Salah satu sinyal biomedik adalah sinyal Electromyographic (EMG). Sinyal Electromyographic merupakan sinyal yang dihasilkan oleh otot dan dapat dianalisis dengan mengamati bentuk, amplitudo dan frekuensinya. Dengan membandingkan frekuensinya kita dapat membedakan antara sinyal emg normal dengan sinyal pasien yang mempunyai kelainan. Sedangkan metode untuk mendapatkan respon frekuensinya dapat digunakan Fast fourier transform (FFT). Pada penelitian ini telah dibuat sinyal generator EMG yang menghasilkan 4 sinyal normal dan 4 sinyal yang mempunyai kelainan. Sinyal normal yang dihasilkan mempunyai range frekuensi 6 – 15 Hz dengan amplitudo –2.5 sampai 2.5 milivolt pada saat otot beristirahat. Daerah pengukuran terletak pada otot Biceps,  Tibialis Anterior, First Dorsal Interosseus, dan triceps.  Sinyal abnormal yang dihasilkan terdiri dari myophaty dengan daerah pengukuran di otot biceps, neurophaty di Tibialis Anterior,  neurophaty di Biceps, dan cedera syaraf sciatica di Tibialis Anterior. Untuk sinyal abnormal yang telah dihasilkan cenderung terjadi pengurangan amplitudo dan penambahan frekuensi.
