Abstract

The objectives in these studies are (1) determine the activity of theeighth grade students of SMP 2 Labuan Deli in learning activities using an experimental method of inquiry. (2) Determine the increased student’s activityin class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Labuan Deli in solving physics problems after applied the experimental method. This study is a classroom action research. Research subject is class VIII SMP 2 Semester 2 Labuan Deli T.P 2012/2013numbered 31 students consisting of 13 men and 18 women. Object of thisresearch is to apply the learning peruses STAD cooperative learning modelthrough experimental methods. This result show (1) There is an increase instudent learning outcomes Junior High School eighth grade 2 Labuan Deli isshown from: (a) the results of tests of student learning in the first cycle,namely: mean = 58.92 with the percentage of completeness = 19.36%; (b)tests of student learning outcomes in the second cycle is the average 75.70,percentage of completeness = 58.92%. Completeness percentage increased by61.24% and 0.41 normalized gain index or criteria being. (2) There is anincrease in the activity of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 LabuanDeli is shown from the first cycle only average 65.60 and 81.65 in the secondcycle. The results of this study can be used as input for teachers in an effort toincrease the activity and student learning outcomes by applying experimentalmethods.

Abstract

The purpose of this research: (1) Improving Students' Cognitive Structures through the Advance Organizer Model Learning by giving Structured Worksheets based on APOS Theory, (2) Improving student activity through the Advance Organizer Model Learning by giving Structured Worksheets based on APOS Theory. This research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out at SMK Negeri 1 Arse South Tapanuli. The research subject was grade 12 students of academy year 2012/2013 consisting 31 students, namely 18 males and 13 females. Object on this research were the student activity and student learning outcomes through the Advance Organizer Model Learning by giving Structured Worksheets based on APOS Theory. The research consisted of two cycles, each cycle consisting of three meetings. Test of achievement conducted at the end of each cycle. Test of achievement consisting of 15 questions. The results of the research are: (1) There is an increased of student learning outcomes on class XII Agribusiness Crop/Horticulture SMK Negeri 1 Arse which showed an increase in cognitive structure indicated strengthening of: (a) Outcomes of achievement test in the first cycle, namely: the average = 63.66; percentage of completeness = 41.94%, (b) Outcomes of achievement test in the second cycle, namely: the average = 82.58; percentage of completeness 90.32%. The percentage of completeness 48.39%, and the index gain 0.51 or moderate improvement criteria. (2) There is an increased of student activity on class XII Agribusiness Crop/Horticulture SMK Negeri 1 Arse shown from: first cycle is only the average of 59.72 up to 74.47 in the second cycle.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze: science process skills taught with scientific inquiry model using mind mapping better than students taught with conventional learning, physics science process skills students who have the ability to think critically using scientific inquiry model above average better than students who have the ability to think critically using conventional models above average, and the interaction of scientific inquiry learning model using mind mapping media with students 'critical thinking ability in improving students' physics science process skills. This research is a quasi experimental research with two group pretest-posttest design design. The research population is all students of grade X SMA Gajah Mada Medan first semester of academic year 2017/2018. The sample in this study was taken by cluster random sampling. The instruments used are tests of science process skills and critical thinking ability tests. The resulting data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA. The result of the research shows that: science process skill of students taught with scientific inquiry model using mind mapping better than students taught by conventional learning, physics science process skill of students who have critical thinking ability using scientific inquiry model above average better than students who have the ability to think critically using conventional models above average, and there is the interaction of scientific inquiry learning model using mind mapping with students 'critical thinking ability in improving students' science process skills.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve learning quality of high school students in grade ten (X) to the study material is about the vector. This research is a quasiexperimental study. Samples selection is random, using the control class from the adjacent class to avoid the large bias. The results of samples selection are the students of class X-H as the control class and the students of class X-I as the experimental class. The motivation variable was distinguished from the observations of student activities at the pre-study and at current research. Highly motivated students are the students who actively ask the questions and give answers to problems. While the low-motivated students are the students whose learning activities are the less. This research was designed using 2x2 factorial ANOVA, namely the effects of cooperative learning between learning without module and module-assisted learning on students’ learning results; and the effects of students’ learning motivation between highly motivated students and low motivated students. After given the treatment, those are: the same pre-test, cooperative learning without modules in control class, module-assisted cooperative learning in experimental class, the same post-test, questionnaires distribution, collection and tabulation of the data. The data were analyzed using qualitative-descriptive technique and percentage. The data analysis results using SPSS 17.0 conclude that: (1) There is a significant difference of study results in cooperative learning without module against module-assisted cooperative learning. (2) There is a significant difference of study results between highly motivated students and low motivated students. (3) There is a significant difference of study results between the group of cooperative learning and the group of student motivation at the significance value of = 0.05.

Abstract

Study aimed to analyze the effect of scientific inquiry learning model on concept knowledge and science process skills in senior high school students. This research is a quasi experimental research with two group pre-test post-test design. The population of this research is all student of class XI MIA SMAN 1 Delitua (Senior High School), semester I academic year 2018/2019. Selection of sample is done by cluster random sampling that is XI MIA-1 as experiment class applied scientific inquiry learning and XI MIA-2 as control class applied conventional learning. Instrument used in this research is instrument of concept knowledge in essay form as much as 10 problem and instrument of science process skills in essay form as much as 10 problem which have been declared valid by expert team. Form the result of the study concluded that the concept knowledge of students applying scientific inquiry model better than the student’s concept knowledge with conventional learning and the science process skills of students applying scientific inquiry learning model is better than student’s science process skill with conventional learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah buku-buku pelajaran Fisika kelas X SMA yang digunakan sesuai dengan KTSP dan melihat hasil belajar siswa dengan penggunaan buku pelajaran Fisika tersebut dengan cara survey terhadap buku pegangan yang digunakan guru SMA setingkat di Kecamatan Barus. Jenis penelitian yaitu penelitian deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak semua buku pegangan yang digunakan guru sudah sesuai dengan KTSP. Dari dua buku Fisika kelas X SMA yang menjadi buku pegangan guru, buku Fisika kelas X SMA dengan pengarang Supiyanto (buku I) belum sesuai dengan KTSP karena skor keseluruhannya 175 (72,92%) berada antara 121-180 atau 51%-75% dari skor keseluruhan 240 dan buku Fisika kelas X SMA dengan pengarang Kamajaya(buku II) secara keseluruhan telah sesuai dengan KTSP dengan skor keseluruhan 189 (78,75%) berada antara 181-240 atau 76%-100%. Hasil belajar siswa pada hasil ujian akhir semester genap tahun ajaran 2009-2010 dengan penggunaan buku I nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa adalah 74,3 dan dengan penggunaan buku II rata-ratanya adalah 77,16.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of problem based learning model towards student learning outcomes, determine the effect learning motivation toward student learning outcomes and determine the effect of interaction between learning model with motivation toward learning outcomes of students. This research is aquasi-experimental, conducted at SMA Swasta Sinar Husni the academic year 2014/2015. Population in the study were all students of class X IPA consisting of 2 classes. Sampling was done by purposive sampling, while the determination of a with drawal carried out by random sample class. This study uses Two group pretest-posttest design. Data analysis using ANOVA two ways. From the study concluded that the results of studying physics students apply problem based learning model is better than the conventional learning models, learning outcomes Physics students who have learning high motivation is better than students with low learning motivation, and there was an interaction between the model of learning by learning motivation on student learning outcomes. That is,the result of learning with problem based learning model is always better than the conventional learning. Likewise, learning outcomes of students who have high motivation to learn will always be better than the learning outcomes of students who have low learning motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: learning outcomes physics students with cooperative learning model GI and conventional learning, learning outcomes physics students who have Adversity Quotient (AQ) high and medium AQ and interaction cooperative learning model GI and AQ in affecting learning physics students.  This quasi-experimental study using pretest-posttest control group design. The sample in this research is class X IPA.4 as an experimental class and class X IPA.3 as the control class is selected by simple random sampling. The instrument used is the achievement test and which AQ questionnaire form. Data was analyzed using two ways  ANOVA. The results shows that: learning outcomes physics students with cooperative learning model GI better than conventional learning, learning outcomes physics students who have a high AQ better than students who have a medium AQ and there is interaction between cooperative learning model GI and AQ in influencing physics student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: Untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaanhasil belajar fisika siswa dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe groupinvestigation dan model pembelajaran direct instruction, untuk mengetahuiapakah ada perbedaan hasil belajar fisika antara siswa yang memilikipemahaman konsep awal tinggi dan siswa yang memiliki pemahamankonsep awal rendah, untuk mengetahui apakah ada interaksi antara model kooperatif group investigation dengan pemahaman konsep awal siswa dalam mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara cluster random sampling sebanyak dua kelas, dimana kelas pertamasebagai kelas eksperimen diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif groupInvestigation dan kelas kedua sebagai kelas kontrol diterapkan modelpembelajaran direct instruction. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitianini yaitu instrumen tes hasil belajar fisika dalam bentuk uraian sebanyak 9soal dan tes pemahaman konsep awal sebanyak 12 soal yang telahdinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwaterdapat perbedaan hasil belajar fisika siswa dengan model pembelajarankooperatif group investigation dan model pembelajaran direct instruction.Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar fisika antara siswa yang memiliki pemahaman konsep awal tinggi dan siswa yang memiliki pemahaman konsep awal rendah. Terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran kooperatif groupinvestigation dan pemahaman konsep awal siswa terhadap hasil belajarfisika. Model pembelajaran kooperatif group investigation lebih optimalditerapkan untuk siswa yang memiliki pemahaman konsep awal tinggisedangkan model pembelajaran direct instruction pemahaman konsep awaltinggi dan rendah hasil belajar yang tidak berbeda. Kata kunci: group investigation, pemahaman konsep awal, hasil belajar

Abstract

Project based learning model (PjBL) is a model that is designed to train students to make plans and produce products that can solve problems in the surrounding environment. The PjBL model has five phases, there are (1) finding ideas, (2) designing the project, (3) compiling the project, (4) implementing the project, and (5) evaluating the project. The purpose of this study is to determine students ‘critical thinking skills and improve student’s critical thinking skills in learning physics through the PjBL model. The design in this study used one group pre-test post-test design on 60 students in Senior High School State of 12 Medan (SMA Negeri 12 Medan) at academic year 2019/2020. The instrument of students’ critical thinking skills uses 7 essay tests using indicators by Ennis, namely: (1) elementary clarification, (2) basic support, (3) inferring, (4) advanced clarification, and (5) strategy and tactic. Analysis of the data used is N-gain. The results of this study are students’ critical thinking skills in the medium category. And the improvement of students’ critical thinking skills is also in the medium category
