Abstract

This research was aimed at improvingthe students’ mathematic problem solving competencethrough Problem-Based Instruction (PBI). The subject of this research was IV graders od SD Negeri 1Kalibagor consisting of 18 males and 19 females. The design of this research was Classroom ActionResearch which was carried out in 2 cycles in which every cycle consisted of 2 meetings. In each cyclethere were planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The result of the research indicated that theimplementation of learning mathematic through Problem- Based Instruction learning model couldenhance the mathematic problem solving competence. This was proven by the increaseof the averagescore of mathematic problem solving competence. The average score inthe first cycle was 14.21 whichwas considered goog, and in the second cycle it was 16.69 which belonged to very good criteria. Theaverage result of students’ mathematic problem soving competencetest was 71.03 in the first cycle and83.51 in the second cycle. Furthermore, the students’ learning mastery was 51.40% in the first cycleand 89.19% in the second cycle whic indicated an improvement

Abstract

The research was aimed to improve students’ creativity and skill in writing narrative text in the Indonesia subject through Examples Non Examples with picture series aids. This classroom research consisted of two cycles. The object of the research was the fourth grader's students in SDN 3 Linggasari consisted of 35 students, 19 males, and 16 females. Each cycle consisted of 4 stages, planning, implementing, observation, and reflection. The instruments used to collect the data were test and observation sheet. To see the students’ work on the narrative text, they used a test paper of narrative at the end of the meeting. It showed that Examples Non-Examples with picture series aids could improve student’s creativity and narrative writing. It could be proven from the writing outcome it first and second cycle. In the first cycle, the level of achievement was 40% an in the second cycle was 89%. The students’ creativity was also improving from the first to the second cycle. In the first cycles, it showed 57% and 86% in the second cycle. It could be drawn that Examples Non-Examples method could improve students’ creativity and narrative skill for the fourth semester SD N 3 Linggasari.

Abstract

This research aimed to improve the students, poem writing on topic of completing poems based on the pictures of thematic learning model using audio-visual for the third graders of SD Negeri 1 Rejasari The method used was a classroom action research held in 2 cycles , each cycle had 2 meetings consisting of planning, acting observing and reflecting . The data analysis was by test and non – test techniques, the test was by written test and the non – test was by teacher’s and students’ observation sheet and documentation. Based on the result of the research of the student’s ability in writing poems, the learning completeness in pre cycle was 12,5%, it improved to 42,42% in cycle II and it improved more to 90,37% in cycle III, The teacher ‘s activity in the effort to improve the student’ writing poems in cycle I was 63,04% in cycle and it improved to 93,57% in cycle II. The students’ activity in cycle I was 66,66% in cycle I and it improved to 94,44% in cycle II. Therefore , it could be concluded that thematic learning model by using audiovisual could improve the students’ ability in writing poems in class III SD Negeri I Rejasari.

Abstract

The research about the misconception of science teaching-learning of fifth grade in Elementary School aims to find out the misconception found in Science books, misconception during science teaching-learning process, determine the causes of the misconception and the percentage of the misconception of the books used by teachers in the class during the science learning for the fifth graders. The method used in this research was a descriptive method with the quantitative and qualitative design. The quantitative method was aimed at measuring the numbers of misconception of the books used by teachers during the science teaching and learning process in class V. Qualitative method was by interview and observation technique to dig the teachers’ misconception in the teaching-learning process. The object of this research was the book of science for the fifth graders and the subject was some teachers of the fifth grades of elementary schools in Purwokerto Utara. The result of the research showed that there was a misconception of the books used by the teachers, therefore this misconception was brought to the class during the teaching-learning process. The factors causing this misconception were the wrong textbooks, the teacher’s less material mastery, and science material understanding, the teacher’s teaching methodology was always monotonous. The percentage of the book misconception was 5,45%, this number belonged to very low category, therefore it needed some improvement by selecting the books

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to increase student motivation and learning outcomes/result of 5th-grade SDN 1 Karanganyar Patikraja Banyumas for Social lesson with the topic to Appreciating the Characters Struggle to maintain independence through the application of the scientific approach. This Research is using Classroom Actions Research which implemented in two cycles, each cycle consisting of four stages, those stages are planning/designs, actions, observations, and reflections. Data collection can be done by test, observation, and questionnaire. An indicator of the success of actions in this research is if the increase of student motivation is at least 80% from the maximal score from all students and if the increased of learning outcomes is at least 85% from all students has to reach KKM of Social lesson 68. This research concludes that: First, Application of the Scientific Approach with group discussion method can increase student motivation in the social lesson for the topic to Appreciating the Characters Struggle to maintain the independence of 5th-grade SDN 1 Karanganyar Patikraja Banyumas.

Abstract

On science learning at fifth grade SD Negeri 2 Kotayasa showed that learning process still used lecturing method and lack of students’ participation. The research was aimed at improving curiosity and science learning achievement at class V SD Negeri 2 Kotayasa. The research was done in 2 cycles which consisted of 2 meetings for each. The result of the research showed that there was an improvement. The average of curiosity in cycle I was 30,3. Meanwhile, the average of curiosity in cycle 122,2 and for cycle II there was an improvement on which the average was 159 with 81,5% as the classical completeness. Based on the data aforementioned, it could be concluded that make a match learning model could improve curiosity and science learning achievement on land forming material through making a match learning model in class V SD Negeri 2 Kotayasa. This classroom action research improved curiosity and science learning model on land forming through make a match learning model.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effectiveness of Value Clarification Technique (VCT) learning modelof exampling type toward learning achievement for the fourth graders of SD N 1 Tinggarjaya in Civic EducationThe subject on the topic of Globalization. This is an experimental design with Randomized control group pretest-posttest research design. The subject of the research was the student off for the Fourth Graders of SD N 1Tinggarjaya academic year 2014/2015 consisting of 32 students of class IVA as control, class and 33 students ofclass IVB as an experimental class. The technique of the data collection was by posttest in the form of filling short answer and statement with 10 items., while for the student’s responsibility technique, it used the questionnaire technique. The data had been gained were then analyzed to test a hypothesis by using the formula of the t-test. Based on the result of the research, it was found that the application of VCT learning model exampling type affected on learning achievement for the fourth graders of SD N 1 Tinggarjaya in Civics Education Subject on the topic of Globalization.

Abstract

Commonly, science teaching and learning were still focused on the teacher. The teacher gave less direct experience to the students like experiment and observation activities. Commonly, science learning still used presentation method and giving exercises with questions. Students do not have the chance to have experiments or observation. The innovation in teaching-learning can apply one of the teaching method, namely by experiment method, the problem formulation of this research was whether or not there was an effect of the experiment method toward the students’learning outcome for the fourth graders of elementary school. The learning result observed consisted of three aspects: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. This research is quantitative research with experiment design. The subject of the research was the fourth graders of elementary school consisting of two classes, the students of class IVA with 19 students as the control class, and the students of class IVB with 20 students as the experiment class. The technique of collecting the data was by posttest for the cognitive aspect, hard work questionnaire for the affective aspect, and work performance for the psychomotor aspect. The material used in this research was all in the topic of energy changes through the use of instrumental music. The data gained was then analyzed by Mann Whitney test. Based of the calculation, it could be concluded that three was an effect of experiment method toward the students’ science learning outcome on cognitive and psychomotor aspects, however, it had no effect on the students’ science learning outcome on the affective aspect of the fourth graders of elementary school.
