Abstract

This resarch aims to determine the effect of the 5E learning cycle on learner autonomy. Research with the type of quasi experiment using questionnaires as a measure of learner autonomy. The research subjects are 84 PGSD students. 5E Learning Cycle applicants with the syntax of Engagement, Exploration, Exploration, Elaboration, and Evaluation were carried out in advanced science courses in the second semester.. The results showed that the mean pre-test score of the control group and the experimental group had increased. The Mann-Whitney U test obtained a significance of 0.039 and the effect of the 5E learning cycle showed a high category with score of N gain is 0.98. So that it can be concluded that the 5E learning cycle affects student learner autonomy.

Abstract

The design of this research is survey research. This study aimed to explore seventh-grade science teachers’ perception of laboratory activity on mixture separation topics and match them with available evidence from learning document. The sample comprised 10 seventh grade science teachers, purposively sampled from seventeen teachers. Questionnaires and interview guidelines were used to collect data. The results show that while teachers’ perceptions of mixture separation topics in science classrooms are inadequate. Caused, there was a mismatch between teachers’ perceptions, learning document, and what was taking place in the science classroom. The study may inform teachers’ performance in teaching mixture separation topics in science. It is recommended that teacher on learning should be used to practice worksheet and assessment of laboratory activity, as most of the teachers do not record marks regularly for laboratory activity. Furthermore, laboratory activity prepared by the teacher should be arranged in a lesson plan and practice schedules.

Abstract

This study aims to enrich and developing vocabulary the child with speech delay by using flashcard. The subject of the research is the child who was late in speaking due to sensory disorders, Kindergarten 1, the age of 4 years old. The research method was single subject research quantitative research (single subject research). Techniques of analysis the data collection through observation of  baseline A and B, also documentation. The Results showed that baseline phase (A) phase to the intervention (B) are increasing, which means that the condition has increased after the intervention. Where in the baseline-2 (A2) phase to intervention (B) it is increased which means that the intervention can significantly improve the ability of the subject.

Abstract

This study aims to know the effectiveness of STEM integrated handouts to improve students creative thinking skills in biotechnology material. The design used was nonequivalent pre-post control group design. This research was implemented in grade IX of SMPN 25 Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. The subject were 70 students divided into experiment class (N=35) and control class (N=35) with purposive sampling technique. The data collection was done by pretest and posttest for students creative thinking skills and students responses to the STEM integrated handouts. Based on the result, it were obtained that an average N-gain of experiment class was 0,64 greater than average N-gain of control class was 0,40. Both of class in medium category. Average N-gain of fluency was 0,50 and originality was 0,66 with medium category, then average N-gain of flexibility was 0,74 and elaboration was 0,79 with high category. The student responses showed almost all of the students agreed to the implementation of STEM integrated handouts lead to be interested and motivated in biotechnology material.

Abstract

This study applied Station rotation as one of differentiated instructions. Each student who comes in the classroom has a unique characteristic to capture the lesson in the classroom. Blended Learning’s Station Rotation is a learning method that nurtures higher order thinking skills and is able to meet all the students learning needs. This study is a classroom action research and uses One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design with descriptive quantitative analysis techniques. Data is collected through observation, interviews, teacher’s journal, and students’ learning outcomes. Station rotation is able to promote students’ performance in problem solving, critical thinking, and finishing project creatively to apply their understanding in their learning process. The result showed, the Station Rotation method promotes higher order thinking skills.

Abstract

This study developed a knowledge assessment instrument of three tier diagnostic tests based on higher order thinking skills (HOTS) which aims to diagnose students' understanding in higher-order thinking and reduce misconceptions. The research method uses ADDIE (Analysis-Design-Develop-Implement-Evaluate) and the subject is class VII junior high school students with 2017 odd semester curriculum materials. This study used HOTS-based knowledge assessment instruments of three tier diagnostic tests of 20 items. The results of the instrument expert validation test based on aspects of content, construct, and language assessment have an average score of 90, 88, and 89 with a proper assessment. The data were analyzed using rasch model and the item reliability index was 0.89, the reliability index of the respondents was 0.91, and Cronbach's alpha value was 0.93, which meant the reliability of the questions obtained was good. The results of the students 'answer patterns are six criteria: understanding concepts, misconceptions (+), misconceptions (-), misconceptions, guessing / lack of confidence / luck, and not understanding the concepts used to diagnose learners' understanding in measuring high-level thinking skills (HOTS) which is integrated with the dimensions of factual, conceptual and procedural knowledge. Misconceptions that occur in students have three criteria, namely misconception (+), misconception (-), and misconception, and the most experienced by students is a misconception (-) in the C4 cognitive level which is integrated with the conceptual knowledge dimension on the substance characteristic material . This misconception (-) can be reduced through the correct concept with the right reasons.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the importance of implementing counseling for children with special needs with auditory barriers in terms of psychological, socio-cultural aspects to the development of science and technology. The role of guidance and counseling services in the realm of education becomes a basic necessity to support the growth and development of students optimally, starting from personality development, social skills (activity daily) to developments related to the potential of students so that they are expected to achieve their actualization later The research method used is descriptive qualitative research, by describing the implementation of counseling in the school, through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study are counseling becomes a primary need for children with special needs, this is because of several aspects such as psychological or emotional instability than the ability to socialize in society such as the influence of bullying or pressure social, to the ability of children with special needs to keep up with as a form of interaction from cyberspace or the use of advanced technology. The implication of this study is that counseling is actually the basic foundation for research in children with special needs that are useful as identification of potential and talent as well as an effort to solve problems that occur for children with special needs
