Abstract

The challenge for planning in small island is to ensure efficient use of limited land resources, ensure balanced regional development and balanced use of resources, including natural resources and landscape resources. Based on carrying capacity and small island destination, spatial planning of tourism in Sapeken archipelago which contaian several small island, done by suitability analyze Sapeken archipelago for several tourism. Furthermore, carrying capacity calculated referring Yuliandaetal(2010) to assess how much tourism can commodate without causing disruption the nature. The result suggest Sapeken archipelago have suitable area for dive tourism (164.42 ha); snorkeling (361.56 ha); fishing tourism (1493.38 ha), mangrove tourism (3927.09 ha) dan beach tourism (39.77 ha). Carrying capacity for tourism activities,Sapeken archipelago can commodate 4260 person/day for dive tourism; 3590person/dayfor snorkelling; 14 900people/day for fishing tourism; 321. 000people/day formangrovetoursm;and 199 people/day for beach tourism.

Abstract

Disparity of development, poverty and unemployment is one of the main problems of East Java Province. On the other hand East Java province has great potential fishery. This study aims to analyze the role of the fisheries sub-sector in the regional economy of East Java province, knowing the factors that influence the fisheries development and arrange  the fisheries development strategy in  East Java province. Processing data using descriptive analysis, input-output (IO) and multiple linear regression. Fish processing subsector provide the largest multipliers of employment, output and value added among fisheries subsector. Inland fisheries subsector provide the largest of total linkages between fishery subsector, whereas the marine fisheries subsector have the largest of output value among the fishery subsector. Labor and maritime affairs and fisheries budget have a positive influence on the development of fisheries. Fisheries development strategy should be carried out simultaneously between marine, inland and fisheries processing. Fisheries industrialization strategy is expected to increase the value added of fisheries and reduce the disparity of development, poverty and unemployment.

Abstract

Road as transportation infrastructure must be adaptive for the users. However, along with the outgrowth of automotiveindustry, people start to leave non-motorized vehicle. Nowadays road merely serves and accommodates motorized vehicle. Roadphysical design is unable to accommodate the un-motorized vehicle necessity such as bicycle. The cyclists are forgotten that they arealso road users as what happens in Kaligawe Street, Semarang in which cycling inconvenience becomes an important issue. Thedemand of secure traffic lane by cyclists is very high which since Kaligawe Street as arterial road has threatened the safety of cyclists. This study aims to arrange the secure traffic lane designed for cyclists by utilizing the traffic and slow lane which are designed basedon the change of driver’s behavior in order to ensure all road users safety.

Abstract

The role of Agricultural sector isn't only to ensure food supplies but also as an income generating through export activities. Padang is potentially developed to modern agriculture due to vast number of agriculture land.  Base on regulation No.18 of 2004 on RPJP and Regulation No.9 of 2009 on RPJM, Padang is declared as Agropolitan area. The Agropolitan concept is expected to increase agriculture-based development, because the GDP share of agriculture is relatively small. This study aims are to  analyze a basic food crops, 2) to choose the region which will develop as agropolitan area base on availability of facilities and infrastructure in that region and 3) to formulate development strategies of agropolitan area. The analysis of LQ indicate rice crop as the basic commodity with the LQ greater than one. Skalogram analysis and diamond porter show that Sub District Kuranji is potentially developed as a growth center in the Agropolitan Area because it has the most complete facilities and infrastructure. In this research the development strategies are to develop agricultural infrastructure (sub terminal of agribusiness) and institutional strengthening of capital institution.

Abstract

This research of dynamics growth of urban area and land carrying capacity using system dynamics model that can relate all of components complexly has to be done, then we can forecast the behaviour of its variable to make a policy to solve the problem. The components that used in this research are population, land use, flood disaster, and land carrying capacity. Model behaviour shows that the population growth can raise the escalation of built up area, then result the growth of water run off. This escalation of built up area increasing the attraction of its area, so it increase in-migration rate, and increase population so the built up area attains the limit of land carrying capacity at 2020.To anticipate the limitation of land carrying capacity, the policy scenarios were made. The scenarios can prolong the attainment of land carrying capacity limit, developing rural area outside Kawasan Cekungan Bandung  and forbid the land use convertion  from forest and agriculture land to become built up area, which couldn’t attain but can preserve the green area; and last, the combination of all scenario. The best scenario is the combination of all.

Abstract

Abstract

Indonesian regions are prone to natural disasters. For this, Law 26/2007 on Spatial Planning orders that disaster mitigation is an important. This paper aims at developing a spatial model for suitability analysis, mainly considering physical and disaster prone conditions. The model is a raster based-GIS weighted scoring model. The model is applied in Semarang City with the consideration has various topographical conditions, from flat in the North and hilly in the South. The application shows that the model is suitable in representing land suitability in three categories, i.e. low, medium, and high flexibility of development. The validation, done by comparing the model output and reality, shows that its accuracy is 91,25%. However, to be widely generazed, the model needs to be tested more, by applying in other locations having criteria regardingthe needs of the test.
