Abstract

Linguistic landscapes have an important role in the public sphere as the use of language such as informative and educational. Various languages can be displayed in the linguistic landscape in tourist destinations such as Cakraningrat Museum in Bangkalan, Madura, which presents a linguistic landscape (LL) in Indonesian and English. However, some linguistic landscapes have not provided complete information about the relics. In addition, the increase in tourists, both local and foreign tourists, meanwhile the language presented in the linguistic landscape is still limited. Based on these problems, through this civil engagement program, LL labeling is carried out to add information about relics and improve the condition of the existing linguistic landscape as a renewal program in the new normal era. The implementation method of service consists of several stages, such as planning, preparation, LL execution and translation, labeling, and preservation. The output of this civic engagement activity is that all relics are equipped with multilingual LL (Indonesian, English, and Madurese).

Abstract

This training activity on the use of video editing software was held in order to improve the ability of Human Resources (HR) of members of the Madura tourism service provider association. Video editing skills are considered important, especially for media promotion of tourist attractions, be it natural tourism, cultural tourism or culinary tourism. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge of Madura tourism service providers to promote their business. Another objective is to establish cooperation between Higher Education and the business sectors in society. The training method used was lecture and practice. The laptop used in this training are the property of each member of the association. The results of this training show that the association members, who are mostly SME entrepreneurs in the Madura tourism sector, are enthusiastic about participating in the training activities.

Abstract

In the construction industry, one of the materials that are often used is brick. Bricks are very much needed including as a wall barrier in residential buildings with non-structural functions. The need for the willingness of bricks according to standards and affordable prices is also increasing, which makes brick production very desirable, especially construction actors. But the use of clay as the only material of brick production will provide the results of bricks that are easily cracked. This causes an increasing scarcity of the main material of clay, even more expensive. Therefore, it is necessary to utilize environmentally friendly waste materials to be the right choice in making innovations, one of which is the use of rice husk waste. The methods used are socialization related to the purpose of community service, extension and transfer of materials technology science, training and assistance in brick production, monitoring and evaluation. The location of the activity was carried out in Gambirejo Village, Tanjunganom Subdistrict, Nganjuk Regency which is a village famous for its red brick industry in Nganjuk Regency. This mentoring activity is in the form of training and extension to improve the knowledge and skills of partners so that the production of the resulting bricks becomes more quality with more efficient production costs.

Abstract

One effective way to reduce piles of waste is to manage it into innovative handicraft products. In addition to having an impact on cleanliness and health, the community also has economic value activities so that they become passive income. This year's KKN theme is "Creative and Work After the Covid 19 Pandemic", one of the work programs is to manage community waste into handicraft products that have economic value. The goal is to make the assisted villages / KKN partners become strong and independent villages after the Covid 19 pandemic. The location of this KKN is located in Bandaran Pamekasan Village. The method used is in the form of FGD, mentoring to training which is packaged in a community empowerment. The results of the service show the enthusiasm of the surrounding community in following the various stages carried out in this service so that they can create craft products in the form of ashtrays. Where this service can be useful for the community, it can also boost the economy and increase public awareness that lacks direct touch like a KKN work program like this. That way, people's creativity emerges to produce innovative products from waste.

Abstract

This service activity is a collaboration between the Service Team and Taman Baca Abdurohman. Taman Baca Abdurohman at the beginning of its establishment was the initiation of a community group in RT.13/08 Panjatan, Kulon Progo. The purpose of establishing the Taman Baca Abdurohman is to facilitate children in the surrounding environment who like to read or want to read but are hindered by economic affordability. In addition, the purpose of establishing the Taman Baca Abdurohman is to increase interest in reading and improve literacy, especially for children around and in general the community in the reading park environment is located. Children as the main users of the benefits of Taman Baca Abdurohman's have a tendency to like folklore and fairy tales. With the advancement of science and technology, of course, adjustments must be made by Taman Baca Abdurohman. The service team and partner cooperation programs implemented to achieve these goals are empowerment and mentoring. Empowerment activities are carried out through adding to the collection of books in Abdurohman's reading park and implementing empowerment for PKK mothers around the reading park locations, mentoring activities are carried out through the provision of English language tutoring and competitions. The results of the evaluation of the service program showed that there was an increase in the number of visits by members of the Taman Baca Abdurohman and the general public to the place. So it can be concluded that the solution provided by the service team is appropriate to overcome the problems that exist in Taman Baca Abdurohman's.

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystems have functions and benefits that are quite important both physically and biologically. Mangroves can act as natural coastal protectors from damage due to abrasion and large waves and also provide shelter for associated biota. Development of a mangrove ecosystem that can be developed into a tourism area and an environmental-based education center. Pengudang Village has the potential to be developed into a mangrove ecotourism area with its resources and biodiversity. Development into a mangrove ecotourism area is constrained by public understanding of the types of mangroves, benefits and associated biota in the mangrove ecosystem of Pengudang Village. Community service activities carried out aim to provide understanding to the Pengudang Village community about the potential and types of mangrove resources and associated biota. The activity process begins with a survey of the potential of the mangrove ecosystem including recording, identification, and classification of mangrove species. The introduction and socialization of the condition of the man-grove ecosystem was carried out to the coastal community of Pengudang Village. From the results of field identification, it was found that the mangrove condition of Pengudang Village is in good condition with a dense density. Associated biota in mangrove ecosystems vary from gastropods to mammals. The identification results are disseminated to the Pengudang Village community.

Abstract

Kediri has various tourism potential, both natural, historical, and cultural tourism. One historical heritage still preserved now is the ikat craft centre in Bandar Village, Mojoroto District, Kediri City. The woven product known as the Bandar Kidul Tenun Ikat (TIBK) has been able to last more than 50 years. One of the advantages of this woven cultural product is that it is still produced traditionally, known as a non-machine loom (ATBM). Until now, there are around 15 artisans and ikat weaving business owners who are still actively producing. However, often the ikat fabrics produced can only compete in the local market. This condition is the main problem partners face, which has implications for the decline in income turnover and the cessation of production for several artisans. Based on this situation, the community service’s team of Universitas Negeri Malang provided an alternative solution to make a branding video, "The Hidden Heritage of Kediri", which shows the process of making woven fabrics and the historical aspects. With this branding video, it is hoped that the Bandar Kidul Tenun Ikat (TIBK) will be better known by the public and encourage tourist visits to Kediri City to increase regional income. This video aims to be a promotional medium for the Bandar Kidul Kediri Ikat Weaving centre so that a wider audience increasingly knows it. The making of branding videos received a good response from weaving artisans, the community, and the government of Kediri City.

Abstract

Jember coffee is well known among the public, and one of the people's coffee-producing areas to be reckoned with is Panti District, Jember Regency. Improving the welfare of the community is constrained by the many complex problems at the farmer level in maintaining these superior products. Based on this condition, this service activity is aimed at the Panti area with the Flower Farmer Group. The main problem is the lack of public knowledge in the application of environmentally sound agro-industry according to the concept of sustainable agriculture, in detail concerning several aspects, including: lack of technological innovation at the production level and no waste management for environmental sustainability. The solution provided is assistance in implementing partner agro-industry through technical innovation "Coffee clean production". Service activities in the form of assistance in improving coffee cultivation, resulting in an increase in the quality of Panti's coffee products as domestic and export superior products. The quality of Panti coffee which was originally at grade 4, after the mentoring process experienced an increase in the quality of the coffee beans, namely grade 2. In addition, there was also a change in the behavior of farmers/HR, so that environmental performance is good, healthy and natural resources are preserved, there is an increase in comparative advantage/welfare farming communities (especially nursing homes) in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The mosque is a place of worship used by Muslims to practice worship and other activities related to religious activities. Of course, as a place of worship, it needs comfort to add solemnity to worship. From its establishment as the only mosque in the hamlet of Kaliulo in 1980 until now, it has not changed much. Coupled with the growing number of heads of families reaching 350 families, of course, a renovation is necessary for comfort in worship to increase. This community service is in the form of training and mentoring, i.e., providing training to provide an understanding of the fundraising management function to mobilize public funds as well as assisting the takmir of the mosque and the renovation committee for the construction of the Baiturrahim mosque through the management of fundraising. The purpose of this service is to provide training and an introduction to fundraising management to the community of Kaliulo Hamlet, as well as assistance to the Renovation Committee on how to obtain funds to finance the activities of renovation. The first activities were carried out, although some things were still missing. This success can be seen by the increase in the amount of funds and development materials obtained by the fundraising team and the success of the fundraising team in trying new things in order to speed up the process of renovation and construction of the Baiturrahim Mosque.

Abstract

The aim of this community service activity is to provide socialization of the use of the Canva application; to help the teachers in the 5.0 industrial revolution era, especially in the process of designing online teachingmaterials; to provide new teaching material design to give an experiences to teachers which in the end get convenience in online learning teaching materials. This activity uses the Canva application. The method usedintroducting, training/practice, mentoring and evaluating. By using the Canva application, the teaching material design process is considered to be more attractive and attractive to students and greatly facilitatesthe industrial era 5.0 teacher. From these results, it can be concluded that there is still a need for intensive socialization and training to teachers regarding the use of the Canva application as an effective and efficientevaluation application for teachers. The introduction of this application is expected not only to be introduced to teachers in SMPN 1 Bojongmangu, but also to other cross-school teachers. However, of course this requirescooperation from various parties to realize this activity. Therefore, collaboration with related parties is part of the next stage plan for the implementing team in order to introduce this Canva application in every school that needs it.
