Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of combinations of pesticides to pests and rice yield with System of Rice Intensification (SRI) in the tidal area. This Studies was conducted in Kuala Tungkal, especially at one of the farmers fields in Desa Bram ITAM Pembengis Kecamatan Tanjung Jabung Barat. This Studies activity was conducted from September to December 2013. The studies using randomized block design (RBD) with 6 treatments and each factor level in re-treatment 4 times with 5 plants sample. Based on the results of analysis of variance showed that administration of a combination treatment plant pesticides significantly affect plant height, number of tillers, number of productive tillers, grain permalai, production data, the percentage of pests, and no apparent effect on 1000 grain weight. In the tabulation of treatment combinations pesticide plant Leaf Extract Rhizome Extract Soursop + Jeringau get the highest production of 3.69 kg / plot treatment.

Abstract

This research aims to know the growth of oil palm seeds and composition of empty oil palm bunches of compost and ex- coal mining soil as a medium for planting oil palm seedlings in pre nursery. This research consists of 4 level of treatment, namely k0: top soil as a control, k: the composition of media from ex-coal mining soil andempty oil palm bunches compost (75%: 25%), k1: the composition of media from excoalminingsoilandempty palm bunches of compost (50%: 50%), k2: the compositionof media from ex-coal mining soil and empty oil palm bunches of compost (25%: 75%).Each treatment was repeated 6 times, so there are 24 units of treatment. The variablesmeasured in this study are number of leaves, stem diameter, total dry weight, leaf areaand dry weight of roots. The results showed that the composition of media from ex-coalmining soil and empty palm bunches of compost can increase oil palm growth seedling.The treatment of 75 % of media from ex coal mining soil: 25% empty of oil palmbunches of compost show the highly number of leaves, stem diameter, total dry weight,leaf area, and dry weight of roots.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the response of oil palm seedlings to oil palm bunch ashand get the composition of palm bunch ash as the optimum media mix for planting oilpalm seedlings in the ex-coal mining soil in polybag. This study used a CompletelyRandomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments, the composition between ex-coal miningsoil and oil palm bunch ash (75%:25%), (50%:50%), (25%:75%) and six replicates.The results showed that the composition of ex-coal mining soil and oil palm bunch ashhave significant effect on seedling height, seedling diameter, number of leaves, leafarea, dry weight and root dry weight. The composition between ex-coal mining soil andoil palm bunch ash (75%:25%) gave the best results to all parameter observed.

Abstract

Chili is a vegetable that has high economic value, but to increase production is hampered by high attacks of pests and diseases. One effort to improve it is by using mulch and selecting superior varieties of chili plants. The study aimed to examine the effect of Black Silver Plastic Mulch (MPHP) on the growth and yield of two chili varieties (Capsicum annuum L). The study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with one factor of combination of variety and type of mulch.. The combination of two varieties and mulching is as follows: P1 = (Mario variety + without MPHP), P2 = (Jatilaba variety + without MPHP), P3 = (Mario + MPHP variety), P4 = (Jatilaba + MPHP variety). To see the effect of treatment, the data were processed statistically by analysis of variance, and for further tests using the Smallest Significant Difference Test (LSD) at the level of α = 5%. The combination of the use of MPHP and two chili varieties affected plant height, number of fruit crops, yield of 2X yields, and weight vanished. The use of Mario varieties given MPHP can increase yields on variable height of chili plants, number of fruit crops, yields and weight loss. Chili Mario varieties more resistant than Jatilaba using MPHP .

Abstract

Land of coal post-mining is the critical area that generally can not becultivated due to very low levels of fertility of the land, so this landbecomes slighted. One of the alternatives to overcome this problem isthrough inoculation with Arbuscular Mycorrhiza Fungi (AMF).Indigenous AMF (from coal post-mining location) is more potential AMFdeveloping in that area. Therefore, isolation, identification and purificationsteps of AMF spores are required. The objective of this study was toisolate, identify, and purify of arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi from coal postmining area. The study had identified that at this soil was found 3 AMFgenuses, i.e. Glomus, Acaulospora, and Gigaspora. On coal post-miningsoil was found 20 strains of AMF (13 strains of Glomus, 3 strains ofAcaulospora, and 1 strain of Gigaspora). In this soil was dominated byGlomus. Strain’s AMF that was successful isolated from single sporeculture was 4 strains i.e. Glomus sp-3, Glomus sp-6, Glomus sp-15, danGlomus sp-16.

Abstract

The research was conducted at the green house of Faculty ofAgriculture, the University of Nusa Cendana, Kupang from July toSeptember 2012. The aim of this research were (1) to determine theeffect of urea, solid and liquid organic fertilizer from chicken manure tothe soil phisycs and chemistry properties, the growth and yield oflactuca sativa L, on inceptisol soil. This study was designed usingcompletely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 3replications. The treatments were without fertilizer (PO), 1 g ureapolibag-1 (P1), solid organic fertilizer 50 g polibag-1 (P2), 50 % of liquidorganic fertilizer (P3), 75% of liquid organic fertilizer (P4) and 100% ofliquid organic fertilizer (P5). There were 18 units of treatment. 100 %of liquid organic fertilizer (P5) equal with 50 g solid organic fertilizer(P2). Statistical analysis showed that: (1) The application of solid andliquid organic fertilizer from chicken manure gave significant effect onsoil organic carbon, soil bulk density, plant height, number of leaves,weight of root, and yield of lactuca sativa L. except on soil nitrogen, (2)Solid organic fertilizer from chicken manure gave the best effect on soilbulk density, organic carbon, number of leaf, the weight of fresh plantand roots of Lactuca sativa L, (3) from all the treatments of liquidorganic fertilizer, the concentration of 75% gave the best effect on thenumber of leaf compared to 50% and 100% of liquid organic fertilizer.Key words : chiken manure, Lettuce, growth, yield

Abstract

This research was conducted to evaluate the Duku germination and its growth.Research used descriptive analysis to examine Duku’s germination. To makeduku germinated it used six tubs that used sand as media. After fourth weekgermination, the seedling was transplanting into polybags. The polybags mediaused soil with organic manure. The parameters that observed are percentage ofgermination, percentage of normal and abnormal seedling, percentage ofpolyembrioni seedling, root and shoot growth. The result showed that theamount of normal seedling 80 %, abnormal seedling 20 %, and polyembrioni 25%. Duku seedling grows normally until six weeks after germination are 40 %and Duku Seedling with uniform growth after six months about 20 %.Key words : Seed, poliembriony, vigor.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to reveal a combination of plant growthregulators (PGR’s) and amino acids best callii proliferation and somaticembryogenesis physic nut. The experiment was arranged in completelyrandomized design with combination of plant growth regulators (PGR’s)and amino acids, i.e. 1 ppm TDZ + 1 ppm 2,4-D + 100 ppm glutamine;2 ppm BAP + 1 ppm 2,4 - D + 100 ppm glutamine; 1 ppm TDZ + 1 ppm2,4-D + 100 ppm CH (Casein hydrolyzate); 2 ppm BAP + 1 ppm 2,4-D+ 100 ppm CH (casein hydrolyzate); 1 ppm TDZ + 1 ppm 2,4-D; 2 ppmBAP + 1 ppm 2,4-D; Mannitol 3%; proline 5,75 ppm; proline 2.875ppm. The parameters observed were callii weight, callii diameter, calliicharacteristics (colour and structure) and the number of embryogeniccallii. The result showed that some treatment combinations of plantgrowth regulators and amino acids can increase the callii weight andcallii diameter. The color of celli was dominated by green and creamwith mostly compact structure. Meanwhile, celli friable structure as intreatment 1 ppm TDZ + 1 ppm 2,4-D; proline 5.75 ppm and 2.875 ppm.Key words : casein hydrolyzate, BAP, glutamine, proline, TDZ

Abstract

This research aim is to observe the effect of chiken manure on cucumbergrowth and yield, cultivar Mercy F1. Research was conducted at AgricultureTeaching and Research Farm. This experiment was design in RandomizedComplete block design. The treatment are six doses of chiken manure (k0 = 0ton ha-1, k1 = 2.5 ton ha-1, k2 = 5 ton ha-1, k3 = 7.5 ton ha-1, k4 = 10.0 ton ha-1,k5 = 12.5 ton ha-1). The parameter observes are plant dry weight, timeflowering, amount of male flower, the ratio of between male and femaleflower and yield component. Research result showed that there was significanteffect between the treatments. The highest dry weight was achived at 10ton/ha. The fastest time of flowering was achieved at 10 ton/ha. The highestcucumber yield was achieved at 10ton/ha, but there were no significant effectbetween 10 ton/ ha and 7, 5 ton/ha dan 12,5 ton/ha doses.Key words : Cucumber, chiken, male flower.

Abstract

The aim of this research were todetermine the effect of the combination of different material and dosesof organic liquid fertilizers on growth and yield of celery (Apiumgraveolens, L.).
