Abstract

This study aims to analyze: 1) the degree of fiscal decentralization in East Tanjung Jabung Regency as measured by the ratio of fiscal autonomy degrees, regional financial independence ratio and regional financial dependency ratio; 2) the effect of economic growth on the degree of fiscal decentralization of East Tanjung Jabung Regency. The data used are secondary data of Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency during the period 2001 - 2015. Data were analyzed descriptively using fiscal decentralization ratios and using simple linear regression models. The results of the study found: 1) The degree of fiscal autonomy and the regional financial independence ratio of the Tanjung Jabung Regency are classified as very low, while the regional financial dependency ratio is very high; 2) Economic growth has a significant and positive influence on the degree of fiscal autonomy and the financial independence ratio of the East Tanjung Jabung Regency. On the contrary it does not have a significant effect on the regional financial dependency ratio.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze: 1) inequality of development in Jambi Province; 3) the effect of general allocation funds (DAU), special allocation funds (DAK), and profit sharing funds (DBH) on inequality in development in Jambi Province. The data used are secondary data sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics of Jambi Province. The data analysis tool uses Williams Index, and path analysis. The results of the study found that 1) The average Williamson Index value in Jambi Province during the period 2001-2016 is 0.392743, which means that there is a high inequality. 2) Simultaneously DAU, DAK, and DBH have a significant effect on inequality. together DAU, DAK, and DBH are able to explain inequality by 80.00%, while the remaining 20.00% is explained by other variables not found in this study. Partially the variables that significantly influence inequality are DBH while DAU and DAK have no significant effect.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze: 1) the social and economic characteristics of fish traders in traditional markets in Jambi City; 2) factors that influence the income of fish traders in traditional markets in Jambi City. The data used is sourced from surveys on fish traders in the traditional market of Jambi City. Data were analyzed descriptively and used multiple regression models. The results of the study found: 1) The average age of fish traders in the traditional market of Jambi City was 42.97 years, generally men with dominant education were graduating from high school. All traders are married with an average dependency of 2.51 people; 2) The average initial capital of fish traders is Rp. 2.9 million, with a monthly working capital of Rp. 2.5 million and an average income of Rp. 4.6 million per month. Most fish traders work independently without the help of other workers, with working hours averaging 61.82 hours a week and 14.23 years; 3) the income of fish traders in the traditional market of the city of Jambi is significantly affected by business capital, length of business and working hours

Abstract

This study aims to analyze: 1) socio-economic conditions of areca nut farmers; 2) factors that influence the production of areca nut farmers. The data used is sourced from surveys on areca nut farmers in the Sungai Gebar Barat Village. Data were analyzed descriptively and used multiple regression models. The results of the study found: 1) The average age of areca farmers in the Sungai Gebar Barat Village was 42 years. The average number of areca nut farmer family members is 4 people. Education level is dominated by senior secondary education; 2) The average production of areca nut farmers in the Sungai Gebar Barat Village is 256.94 kg per month. Land area and labor have a significant positive effect on areca nut production, while production costs and prices have no significant effect

Abstract

This study aims to analyze: (1) the development, contribution and effectiveness of Urban-Rural Land and Building Tax (PBB-P2) in Tanjung Jabung Barat District, (2) factors that influence PBB-P2 revenue. The data used are secondary data of Tanjung Jabung Barat District during the period 2004 - 2013. Data is sourced from the Central Statistics Agency and the Regional Revenue Service of Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency. The analysis tool uses descriptive statistics and multiple regression. The results of the study found: 1) based on its development, PBB-P2 is a very potential tax revenue in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, however, the contribution of PBB-P2 revenue to categorized PAD is very low. The effectiveness of PBB-P2 revenue is categorized as ineffective and tends to be not optimal in achieving the targets set 2) Simultaneously GDP per capita and the number of PBB-P2 taxpayers have a significant effect on PBB-P2 revenue, whereas only partially per capita GRDP has a significant effect
