Abstract

Each type of work will cause fatigue. Fatigue is decreasing a person’s condition so that no longerable to perform the work or activities. This study is to find out the relationship between individual characteristics such as age, work period, smoking habits, exercise habits, nutritional status with work fatigue complaints of taxi driver. The method used in this research was observational analytic with cross sectional approach. This study uses a questionnaire tools work fatigue Industrial Fatigue Research Committee (IFRC), weight scales and height or microtoise Stature Meter. The population in this study was a taxi driver in Rungkut Surabaya who work at night time from 14.00 pm–12.00 pm. The studysample of 50 drivers by used purposive sampling method. The results of this study used Chi-Square. Statistical test results indicate that the age of the driver has a low relationship strength, the driver’s working period has a very strong relationship strength, smoking habits driver has a very low relationship strength, exercise habits and nutritional status drivers has a strong relationship. The conclusion that can be drawn from the results of the study there was no association between age, work period, smoking, exercise habits, and nutritional status and work fatigue complaints of taxi drivers. Therefore, need forsocialization or briefing about the dangers of smoking to health, eating vitamin partially substitute for cigarettes and a healthy lifestyle.Keywords: work period, nutritional status, exercise habits, indivudual characteristics, work fatigue complaints, taxi drivers

Abstract

One of the problems that still exist in Indonesia was e arly marriage. Early marriage was a marriage under years old 18 (UNICEF, 2014). Early marriage can be caused by many factors liked the k nowledge by women who do early age and her p arents. The purpose of this study was to analyze of k nowledge of women on the attitude of e arly marriage in Wonosari, Bondowoso District. This research was a descriptive research using qualitative approach, conducted in Wonosari, Bondowoso District. Researchers use a purposive way to determine the subject to be studied. Based on research results, low k nowledge of e arly marriage in women has a relationship with the low education of p arents, family, environment, mass media, experience about e arly marriage and the impact on health. Based on the results of the study could be concluded that the lower of  knowledge of women have higher attitude of tendency e arly marriage than higher k nowledge.

Abstract

The older the stages of pregnancy, it was more likely for pregnant women to experience sleep disorder which usually cause physical discomfort and desease (Prasadja, 2009). Poor sleep disorders can cause complications in pregnancy. This study aims to assess the relationship between physical discomfortand presence of disease with sleep quality of women in third trimester of pregnancy. Dependent variable is sleep quality, while Independent variables were pyshical discomfortand presence of disesas. This study used cross-sectional study design and total sampling technique. A total of 36 respondents gathered from Puskesmas Gading’s pregnant women population. PSQI quetionaire used to assess sleep quality (cronbach’s alpha = 0.83)and physical discomfort quetionaire (cronbach’s alpha = 0.672). Every quetionaire’s validity hasbeen tested with r-count > 0.707. All of the data then processed by cross-tabulation and Pearson test. The result of this study showed that most of the respondents have poor sleep quality (53%). Statistical tests showed poor correlation (r = 0.363) between physical discomfort and sleep quality. Furthermore, poor relationship found in pregnant women with disease (r = 0.334).Keywords: physical discomfort, pregnant woman, sleep quality, disease

Abstract

Lack of  knowledge and attitude might lead to a state of poor behavior in society. Results of nutritional awareness family (KADARZI) survey in 2015 showed 24.09% families and increased to 24.15% in 2016 of families who not aware of nutrition. The aim of the study was to analyze the relationship between  knowledge and  intention with mother of  children under five malnutrition. This was a cross sectional study with 58 samples selected by simple random sampling. Subject in this study was the mother of malnourished children under five. The data were collected through interview using questionnaires, and analyzed using pearson correlation. Of the five indicators, families who weighing weight every months (74.14%), consume a variety of foods (55.1%), iodized salt (100.0%), exclusive breastfeeding (51.72%), and nutritional supplements (100.0%). Most families were having medium level  knowledge (53.4%) and poor  knowledge (46.6%). There were association between family income (p = 0.040),  knowledge (p = 0.033) and  intention (p = 0.048) to the behavior of mother towards KADARZI. While attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control did not have relationship to the behavior of mother toward KADARZI. Knowledge and  intention was related to enactment of KADARZI.

Abstract

Road traffic accident was the public health problem that can decrease public health status. Most of the road traffic acccident involving motorcyclist and mostly among people around 15-19 years old. Agressive driving behavior was one of the factors causing road traffic accidents. The aim of this study to analize the relationship between motorcyclist’s agressive driving behavior with road traffic accidents. This research was analytic observational research with case-control design. The population was senior high school student who riding motorcycle aged ≥ 17 years old in Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Population were divided into two groups, namely case group and control group. Case group were respondents who had road traffic accidents while control group were respondents who never had a road traffic accidents in the last year. The number of respondens were involved 24 respondents in case group and 48 respondents in control group. Sampling were purposive sample in case group and matching sampling in control group by age and sex. The result of analysis using chi-square test  (α = 5 %) showed that agressive driving behavior in motorcyclist has significant relationship of road traffic accidents (p= 0,0006; OR= 5,320). Senior high school students were encouraged to managed time and more prioritised safety while driving to avoid traffic accidents.

Abstract

Teenager is a period of rapid physical, psychological and intellectual development. Adolescents tend to like challenges without careful consideration. This caused various problems of adolescents, especially in reproductive health. Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) Education by teachers is an effort to overcome the problem of reproductive health of students. The purpose of this research was to identify the transfer process of adolescent reproductive health education at SMPN 52 Surabaya. This research used observational case study research with qualitative approach. Informants in this study consisted of teachers and students. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and document studies. This study found that most teacher informants have poor understanding of comprehensive ARH. The teacher informants said that ARH education is the responsibility of parents, school, community and government. The teacher informants delivered the ARH material with various methods. Teacher separated male and female students during delivering process of sensitive ARH materials. This method can encourage students' activeness to ask questions to the teachers. A better understanding of teachers on KRR materials can improve the quality of students' material delivery.ARH education is not only the responsibility of the school, but also family, community to government. The government needs to provide training for teachers related to theARH education. Families need to provide ARH education at home, meanwhile the community needs to provide supervision for adolescents in their neighborhood.

Abstract

Pneumonia is the cause of 16% of underfive children deaths worldwide. The number of cases of pneumonia in Sidoarjo had been continued to increase from 2013-2015. This study aims to describe the condition of home environment with the incidence of pneumonia in underfive children. This research was descriptive observational study with case control study approach. The sample in this study consisted of 32 cases of underfive children who suffering ISPA pneumonia and 32 cases of ARI without pneumonia. The independent variables in this study were occupancy density, ventilation area, floor type, wall type, and cigarette smoke exposure. The results showed that underfive children who suffering ISPA pneumonia have high home density (68,8%), often exposed by cigarette smoke (75,0%), and ventilation respondents was not eligible (100,0%). Based on the results of this study, the parents should to change the behavior not to smoke in their home. In addition, they should get used to open the door of their house so the air circulation in the house can exchange well.

Abstract

Leprosy is a complex condition involving the physical health and quality of life of the patient. Measurement of quality of life aims to assess health and health care obtained by patients. Quality of life is closely related to the stigma. Stigma in leprosy patients can decrease the quality of life of leprosy patients. The purpose of this study is to analyze quality of life leprosy patients with post-Multy Drug Therapy at Sumberglagah leprosy hospital Mojokerto Regency. This research was an observational research, using cross sectional research design. A sample of 80 subjects, was taken by consecutive sampling. Secondary data in the form of list of leprosy patients and primary data was obtained by questionnaires. Data was analysed by Chi Square. The result showed that the distribution of leprosy patients was mostly in the productive age group of 49 people (61,3%), male gender 45 people (56,3%), low educated 58 people (72,5%), and had high social support 52 people (65%). Age factor (p=0,035), education (p=0,003) and social support (p=0,009) have positif correlation with quality of life of leprosy patients. The sex factor (p=0.623) has no relationship with quality of life of leprosy patients. The conclusions of this study were age, education, and social support factors has relationship with the quality of life of patients with post-Multy Drug Therapy mutlibacillary leprosy in Sumberglagah Mojokerto Hospital. Efforts to hold discussion groups for leprosy patients, increase the leprosy confidence of lepers to be active and productive, and conduct health promotion with socialization is expected to improve the quality of life of leprosy patients.

Abstract

Sedentary lifestyle has been done by many workers either in the workplace, home, even on transportation. High sedentary lifestyle is a risk factor for metabolic syndrome among workers that cause of metabolic diseases such as Coronary Heart Disease, diabetes mellitus type 2, and Stroke. According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) in 2005, the metabolic syndrome is characterized by abdominal obesity plus at least 2 other positive components consisting of hypertriglycerides, low HDL cholesterol, hypertension, and hyperglycemia. This study is a cross sectional study to determine relationship of sedentary lifestyle with metabolic syndrome. 66 workers of 113 workers who performed Medical Check Up (MCU) at Prima Medika Laboratory Surabaya during November - December 2017 became a sample of this study. Sampling method was simple random sampling. The independent variables in this study were age, sex, and sedentary lifestyle. The dependent variable was metabolic syndrome. This study used Chi-square analysis to assess the relationship between independent variable and dependent variable. The results showed the prevalence of metabolic syndrome among workers was 43.9%. Of the 29 workers with metabolic syndrome, 26 workers had a sedentary lifestyle ≥ 6 hours per day with a median was 9.11 hours per day. There was a correlation between sedentary lifestyle ≥ 6 hours per day with metabolic syndrome (p = 0.000), whereas showed no association with metabolic syndrome between age (p = 0.058) and sex (p = 0.168). The conclusions of this study were sedentary ≥ 6 hours per day associated with metabolic syndrome among workers. Workers should reduce sedentary lifestyle by stretching, avoiding sitting too long while working, and increasing physical activity in the workplace.

Abstract

Kalijompo Plantation is one of rubber plantations in Jember. One of rubber production is rubber tapping that is done not only by male but also female workers. One of the factors that can affect productivity is nutrition status. Nutrition status is influenced by the adequancy of nutrients, especially carbohydrates, fats, and proteins as energy producers. The purpose of this research was to study the correlation between carbohydrates, fats, and proteins intake with nutrition status in female tap rubber workers of Kalijompo Plantation in Jember. This research was analytical observational research and had a cross sectional design. The population of this research were all female tap rubber workers of Kalijompo Plantation in Jember with the sample consisted of 33 respondents. The variables of this research carbohydrates intake, fats intake, proteins intake, and nutrition status. Data collection included measurement of weight body, measurement of height body, and food recall 1x24 hours.The results showed that there was no correlation between carbohydrates intake with nutrition status (p=0.968), there was no correlation between fats intake with nutrition status (p=0.646), and there was no correlation between proteins intake with nutrition status (p=0.679). The conclusion of this research was the intake of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins are not factors that can affect good or bad nutrition status in female rubber tapping workers of Kalijompo Plantation in Jember.
