Abstract

The Effect of Coconut Water and Bap on Tea Plant Clone Gmb 7 After 2nd Centering. Tea plants as one of the leading commodities in Indonesia demanding high productivity. Clone GMB 7 and maintenance such as the formation of the area of plucking by 1st centering and 2nd centering on the immature plant can be done to improve the productivity of tea. Centering that plays a role in stimulating bud formation can be enhanced by the addition of Plant Growth Regulator (PGR) derived from natural ingredients such as coconut water and synthetic ingredients such as Benzyl Amino Purine (BAP). This research was conducted to determine the effect of BAP concentration and coconut water on tea plants after the 2nd centering. The research was conducted from July 2017 to September 2017 at Ciparanje Field Station, Padjadjaran University. The experimental design used was Randomized Block Design with 7 treatments repeated 4 times. The treatment used were: control (without PGR); 25% coconut water; 50% coconut water; 75% coconut water; 60 ppm BAP; 90 ppm BAP; and 120 ppm BAP. The best result are shown by 50% coconut water on the ratio of leaves number, the ratio of bud number, and the bud length.

Abstract

Soil Physical   Properties and Plant Yield on Organic Fertilizing and Intercropping System of Corn-Peanut on  Inceptisol The experiment was conducted at Pengotan Village, Bangli Regency. The purpose of this experiment was to study  physical   properties of soil organic fertilizer and the intercropping system of corn and peanut on  Inceptisol. The experiment  was arranged in nested  Randomized Block Designed  (RBD)  with three replications. The treatments was consisted of two factors i.e. dosages of organic fertilizers (P) and cropping systems (S). The organic fertilizer treatment consisted of four levels i.e. without fertilizer  (P0),  5  tons  ha   (P1),    10  tons  ha -1 -1 (P2),  and  15  tons  ha (P3).  The treatment of cropping system  consists  of three types i.e. multiplecropping corn and peanut (S1), corn monoculture (S2) and peanut monoculture (S3). The results showed that cropping systems were not significantly influenced to all parameters of soil physical properties, but significantly influenced to the yield of corn and peanuts. The NRR Test indicated that the corn was more profitable on monoculture, but yield of peanut was higher on multiplecropping. Treatment  dosages of  15  tons  ha -1 -1   (P3)  in the  peanut monoculture  provide  the highest fresh  pod weight of 3.13 tons ha . -1

Abstract

Ammonium Dynamics and Latosol Wetland Nitrates in Conventional Cultivation of Local and Hybrid Rice in Jatiluwih Subak. Plants absorb nitrogen in the form of ammonium (NH4+) and nitrate (NO3-). Each sample was analyzed for its ammonium and nitrate levels using macro Kjeldahl method. The results showed that the concentration of ammonium and nitrate in soil of the two rice fields were similar. The ions contents were as following: nitrate (2,67%) and ammonium (2,67%) in local rice, while those in hybrid rice fields were amounted of 1,48% and 4,59% respectivelly. The concentration of ammonium and nitrate on 21 DAC in soil samples remained low and rose at 28 DAC, then decreased at 56 DAC. It means that the times of fertilizing always done by the farmers were not appropriate. The content of ammonium and nitrate in water phase much lower than that in soils for both types of rice plants. The highest concentration of ammonium in local rice fields was 0,093% at the time of tillage and the lowest 0% on 21 DAC, while the highest nitrate concentrations in local rice water was 0,37% at 70 DAC and the lowest was 0% at of 21 DAC. The highest ammonium concentrations in hybrid rice 0,33% at 14 DAC, and the lowest 0% at 42 HST, while the highest nitrate content 0,47% at 42 DAC and the lowest 0% at the time of tillage. The fertilizing times recommended based on the findings of this reaserch is at 10-15 DAC for both rice types and another subsquent fertilization on 60-65 DAC for local rice and 40-45 DAC in hybrid rice.

Abstract

The Phycochemical Study of Kristal Guava (Psidium guajava L.) During Storage under Difference Cultivation Techniques and Fruit Maturity Levels. Kristal guava (Psidium guajava L.) is one of guava variety with high economic value, thick flesh and seedless. This research studied the effects of cultivation techniques and maturity level toward the physical and chemical characteristics of kristal guava during storage. Research was conducted at the farmland in Banjar Semanik, Pelaga, Badung and the storage was implemented in Postharvest Engineering Laboratory, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University in April to December 2016. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors and the treatments were repeated four times. The first factor was with 2 levels of cultivation techniques (non intensive and intensive) and the second factor was with 3 levels of maturity (green, light green and yellowish green). The results showed that there were interaction between cultivation techniques and maturity level toward the physical and chemical characteristic of kristal guava in average weight per fruit and the organoleptic test color of the fruit observed 9 day after storage. The highest average weight per fruit (248.33 g) was obtained from combined treatment of intensive cultivation techniques with the third maturity level which is yellowish green was significantly different with the lowest average weight per fruit (143.33 g) that was obtained from combined treatment of intensive cultivation techniques with the first maturity level which is green. The best combined treatment that affect the physical and chemical characteristics of kristal guava during storage is combined treatment in intensive cultivation techniques with the third maturity level which is yellowish green, but statistically not significantly different from non intensive cultivation technique.
