Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of interaction between types of growing media with nutrient concentrations on the growth and production of tomato (Lycopersicum ecsculentum Mill) in the hydroponic system. Conducted in the plastics chamber, drum Durung Village district. Temple District. Sidoarjo. In May until September2003. The experiment was arranged in factorial using completely randomized design (CRD) . The first factor is the concentration of nutrients, namely: control (K0), K1 = 10cc/lt of water (K1), 15cc/lt of water (K2), 20cc/lt of water (K3); the second factor is the growing media comprising: sand (M1), gravel (M2) and paddy’s husk (M3); the replay 3times obtained 108 experimental unit. The results of the study at 45 days after planting showed: (i) the presence of interactions between the types of growing media concentration of nutrients to the number of branches as well as wet weight and root dry weight, (ii) the growing media influence the mean difference in plant height, number of branches, number of leaves, fresh weight and root dry weight, (iii) differences in nutrient concentrationsperbedaab effect on the average number of branches , fresh weight and root dry weight.

Abstract

The aim of this research was wanted to study about the impact of unhulled rice floor price policy (Kepres No. 2/2005) on the increase of farmers income in East java, and also study about production factors which influence paddy agribusiness income and productivity. Desa Clumprit,location of the research was one of paddy production area, in where paddy was dominant staple food crop. The research was descriptive research characterized as explanation research. Stratified Random Sampling was used to determine samples based on land used as paddy agribusiness. Data was collected by structured and unstructured survey. Secondary data was collected as Desa Clumprit, Kecamatan Pagelaran, Kabupaten Malang monograph document. Then, data was analyzed by Polynomial Linear Regression. Result of this study showed that unhulled rice floorprice policy (Kepres No 2/2005) was able to increase farmer income until 18,24% from average Rp 3.438.550,- became Rp 4.072.028,- Kepres No.2/2005 did not influence paddy agribusiness productivity. After establishment of unhulled rice floor price policy, farmers income significantly influenced by seed price, land rent, and pesticides price. For larger agribusiness than 0,5 ha,decreased fertilizer and seed price, and land rent would significantly influenced paddy agribusiness income.

Abstract

Barefoot processing is widely used as food products in Indonesia and one of the products is cracker. Therefore, production of high quality cracker is required to study the proportion of ingredients. The aim of this study was to determine the best proportion of tapioca, chicken skin and chicken leg bone towards cracker quality. The cracker was treated based on proportion (g) of tapioca, chicken skin and chicken leg bone as follows: T1 (100:50:0), T2 (100:0:50), T3 (100:25:25), T4 (100:33:17), T5(100:17:13), T6 (80:70:0), T7 (80:0:70), T8 (80:35:35), T9 (80:47:3), T10 (80:23:47). The experiment was arranged by randomized block design (RBD), which were run triplicate, thus all samples were obtained 30 experiment units. The observed variables were classified by chemical analysis (protein, water, Ca), physical analysis (degree of expansion and mass expansion), and sensory evaluations (color, aroma, flavor andcrispiness). The data was analyzed using ANOVA followed by HSD 5 % and the organoleptic were analyzed by Friedman test. The results were significantly different based on protein and color. However, the datas were not significantly different based on taste, aroma, crispiness, degree of expansion and mass expansion. T5 was identified as best characteristic, notably the proportion of tapioca:chicken skin:chicken legbone was 100:17:33. Its characteristic based on protein, moisture, calcium, mass expansion, degree of expansion were 3.96 %, 10.24 %, 176.8 mg/100g, 0.20 %, and 5.97%, respectively. In the other hand, sensory value based on color, aroma, flavor and crispiness were 5.07 (like), 4.7 (rather like), 5.03 (like), and 5.33 (like), respectively.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer and seed tuber cutting against to growth and production of onion. Experiment was arranged in a factorial experiment using a randomized block design (RBD) and repeated 3 times. Factorial I was concentrationof liquid fertilizer comprises four levels: 0,2.4, and 6 cc/liter of water; factor II was piece of tuber shoots comprises 3 levels: nocutting, cutting 1/4 and ½ part cutting the tubers sprout. The measured variables were plant length, number of leaves, number of tillers, root length, weight stover, fresh weight and dry weight of tubers. Data were analyzed by ANOVA followed by a test ynag HSD 5%. The results showed concentration of organic fertilizer influence on the plant long parameter age of 14, 21 and 28 days after planting, and the number of leaves at the age of 14 and 21. Cutting seed tubers affect the number of leaves aged 14, 21 and 28 days after planting. There is an interaction effect between kosnetrasi organic liquid fertilizer by cutting the tubers lip on the length of the plant ages 35, 42 and 49 days after planting, the number of leaves of the plant ages 28, 35, 42 and 49 days after planting, and the panang roots, weights stover, fresh weight and dry weight of tubers red onion. Combination treatment liquid fertilizer concentrations of 6 cc/liter and ½ part cutting buds bulbs given the best results.

Abstract

The escalation of degenerative diseases can be prevented by consuming fibrous foods. This study focus onproduct development of cookies from arrowroot starch with the addition of rice bran and whole wheat flour as fiber source. The addition of fiber was conductedusing various  concentration of 0-30%. Aim of this study was determinedto add therice bran and whole wheat flour against physical-chemical properties of cookies. The data of physical-chemical properties were analyzed by Anova, followed by HSD test, while the organoleptic data were analyzed using Friedman test and determining the best treatment using method effectiveness index (De Garmo). Best quality wasshowedon proportion of20% rice bran flour (P2) and 20% whole wheat (P5) with the average value of the water content in sequence P2 and P5 are: 2.50% and 2.67%, 1.44% and dietary fiber 1.67%, 8.35% protein and 57.12%, and 60.73% texture and 65.80%. Organoleptic datashowedpreferable panelist on the color scale of 3.69 (regular) and 4.8 (a bit like), a sense of scale 4.13 (regular) and 4.77 (a bit like), aroma scale of 4.57 (slightly like) and 4.73 (a bit like), and the texture scale 4.37 (regular) and 4.33 (regular).

Abstract

The aim of this research was to study the yield potential of Capsicum frutescence affected by difference watering volume on varies soi types and growth media compositions. This research was held at Trunojoyo University about 3 m above sea level with the average rainfall about 1685 mmper year. A transparent plastic roof was used to protect the experiment from rain. Polybags used were 40 cm x 20 cm in sized. Split plot design arranged as factorial was used in this experiment and was replicated three times. As main factor was volume of watering wiyh three levels of 0,25;0,5; 0,75; and 1,00 times of fied water capacity. The subfactors were soil types and media composition. The four levels of soil type used were regosol, vertisol, mediterane and alluvial. The three levels of media composition were proportion of soil: manure: rice husk of 1: 1: 1; 1: 2: 1; and 2: 2: 1. Result of this experiment showed that all of combination between treatments did not influence yield and yield components. But individual treatments significantly influenced the yield and some yield components. Fruit weight of 0,90; 1,02; and 0,91 g were given by watering volume of 0,75 times of field water capacity; alluvial soil type and media composition of soil: manure: rice husk (2 ; 2: 1), respectively

Abstract

The Success to realize a new superior soybean variety is definitely by a genetic an phenotypic variability. Morphological relationships among soybean genotypes is necessary to orchid breeder in obtaining good hybrids in perennial plants. Openly related among soybean genotypes would increase their crossing opportunity. The aim of this research was to identify morphological relationships of ten soybean genotypes based relative determinant components. The research was carried out on the August until November 2005, at the experiment field of the Jember State Polytechnic and in the Biomolecular Laboratory of the Jember University. The experiment designed in Randomized Block Design (RBD), with ten soybean genotypes as treatment in the three replications. Relationships among of ten soybean genotypes was analyzed according to Cluster Analysis. The result of cluster analysis indicated that, (1) However the genotypes ZKJ 2-3 and ZKJ 1-7 are the most identical on similarity distance 0.0025. On similarity distance more than 0.9965, genotypes ZKJ 1-7 and 482 is different exclusively (2) On minimum distance 0.100 all of genotypes soybean can be divide four groups i.e. Group I (55, 56, 481, 482, Galunggung and 52), group II (ZKJ 2-3 and ZKJ 1-7), group III (I10), and group IV (Lokon).

Abstract

Aim of this study was to study the interaction effect between combination treatment of anorganic fertilizer and amount of the buds on the beginning of the growth sugarcane (Saccaharm officinarumL.), which conducted in green house of Sidoarjo Muhammadiyah University on March to May 2014. Experiment was arranged by randomized block design (RBD) with factorial consist of two factor and triplicate. First factor was combination of anorganic fertilizer, consists of four levels ie K1 (Urea 100% with fertilizer ponska 0%) = 1304.378 kg urea/ha, K2 (Urea 75% fertilizer ponska 25%) = 978.2835 kg urea/ha with Phonska 1000 kg/ha, K3 (urea 50% fertilizerponska 5%) = 652 196 kg urea/ha with Phonska 2000 kg/ha, K4 (urea 25% fertilizer Phonska 75%) = 326.0945 kg urea/ha with Phonska 3000 kg/ha and K5 (Urea 0% with fertilizer ponska 100%) = Phonska 4000 kg/ha, while the second factor is the number of buds, comprising two kinds, namely T1 (the buds) and T2 (two buds). The data showed that was interaction between combination treatment of anorganic fertilizer andamount of buds at variable leaf area. The best treatment is a combination of Urea 50% fertilizer ponska 5% (Urea 652 196 kg/ha with Phonska 2000 kg/ha) and number of buds one (T1K3) to produce an average of leaf widest (14:50 cm2) age 30hst, and treatment inorganic fertilizer effect on the variable leaf area, root length (59.54cm) and the weight of the root (9.072gr), treatment K3 (urea 50% fertilizer ponska 5%) = 652196 kg urea/ha with Phonska 2000kg/ha effect on the variable area leaf, as well as observation of a variable length of root and root weight occurred in treatments K5 (urea fertilizer Phonska 0% to 100%) = urea 0 g/ha Phonska 4000 kg/ha. Treatment buds number one (T1)was siginificantly different on observed variabel of plant diamater and “luas daun” has good effect.

Abstract

This study aims to comparesynthetic and natural colour on quality and characteristics of sugar cotton. The research was conducted in April-June 2014 at Laboratory of Product Development and Laboratory of Food Analysis, Faculty of Agriculture, Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo. The experiment was arranged in a randomized block design (RBD) with 7 treatment consisting:withoutcolour (control), addition of synthetic colourand natural colourwithin ratio 12 ml:0 g, 8 ml:16 g, 8 ml:32 g, 4 ml:16 g, 4 ml:24 g, and 0 ml:48 gr. The measured variables were chemical analysis (concentration of sucrose, glucose and fructose), physical analysis (volume, weight shrinkage, durability sugar cotton inside and outside plastic) and organoleptic analysis (color, taste, aroma, and texture). The data of chemical and physical analysis were analyzed by Anova followed byHSD 5%, while organoleptic was analyzed by Friedman test and method of De Garmo to find the best treatment. Comparison between synthetic colourand natural colour were significantlydifferent on the levels of sucrose, glucose, fructose, volume analysis, resilience in plastic and outer plastic resistance; and significantly affect the color and flavor, but not significantly different on taste and texture. Overall, the best treatment was without natural preservatives and artificial; but the all treatment with preservatives,synthetic colour of 8 ml treatment and 16 g natural colourwas the best treatment.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the initial growth of orchids from application of various concentrations of nitrogen and various growth regulators. The location is at the experimental study of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo at a height of 5 m. The factorial experiment arranged in a randomized block design (RBD) with three replications. The first factor is the concentration of nitrogenfertilizer consists of : without fertilizer N (N0), 0.3 g/l of water (N1), 0.6 g/l of water (N2), and 0.9 g/l of water (N3); the second factor is a growth regulator (PGR) consists of: without PGR (Z0), dekamon Z2 (Z1): ergon (Z2), and gibberellins (Z3). Penenlitian results showed: (i) there is no interaction between dose and concentration of nitrogen fertilizer plant growth regulator on all variables of plant growth, (ii) the concentration of nitrogen effect on all variables were observed, as well as PGR types, except the variable plant height, (iii) combined treatment of nitrogen fertilizer dose (0.6 g/l of water) with gibberelin provide the highest stem diameter (18.33 mm) and the highest number of leaves (7.67 strands) at the age of 105 HST.
