Al-Balagh: Jurnal Dakwah dan Komunikasi
Al-Balagh (Journal of Da'wa and Communication) is a scientific publication that efforts to facilitate academic articles and scholarly writings of a number studies in empirical research in the field of Da'wa and Communication. Al-Balagh is open to academics, students, researchers, and practitioners who are interested in contributing their thoughts, especially in the field of Da'wa and Communication.
The main focus of al-Balagh journal is on the exploration of dynamics propagation in Islamic proselytizing, studies of communication science, and the development of contemporary media in theoretical realm as well as practical one, especially the scope of local, national, and global.

<![CDATA[Benefiting from Jrgen Habermas, an intellectual figure, the study intends to answer two key questions. How is Jrgen Habermas epistemologic construction, and what is communicative actions in Habermas concept? The answers are next going to include the basic critical theories of Habermas. The beginning part the writing is intended to be the starting point of understanding Habermas thought by placing Habermas basic epistemology as a basic concept purposed afterward. <![CDATA[CDA of Fairclough model is applied to investigate the news of the death of Siyono, the suspected terrorist in SoloPos newspaper. Three levels of analysis are used to criticize the discourse, namely texts, discourse practice, and sociocultural practice. It reveals that SoloPos chooses some words that tend to be more neutral in the news. SoloPos has also the independent position in exposing the news without any intervention from other parts. It seems helps to create condusive and peaceful circumstances in Solo in informing the news to the society.]]>

<![CDATA[The dialectic of intrapersonal communication help us to understand several sides of metaphysics in the science of communication. At this level of communication, communication activities can be analyzed from the dialectic and the dialogue which is in monologue concept. Objectivity of communicative action will be traced from intersubjectivity of each individual. In this article, the communicative action will be reviewed by a phenomenal figure of Dimas Kanjeng Taat Pribadi. By reviewing and studying at this level of communication, we will try to understand the construction of knowledge, attitudes, and the subjective actions of individuals that necessitate a distinctive or enchanting communication style when they communicate with others.]]>

<![CDATA[The response of da'wa in dealing with the problems of the people in the digital era can be realized through the millennial missionary model. The purpose of the following research is to develop a pilot model of contemporary preaching for homosexuals. The author uses a study of literature studies in developing this model. Nevertheless, a preliminary study was conducted on six research subjects to provide an initial picture in building this model. The technique of giving advice by using Qur’an-based continuum of counseling approach which explained to the six main stages in dealing with homosexual cases, including: 1) identity (self); 2) relationship; 3) feeling distinction (differential of feeling); 4) identification and evaluation (identify and evaluation); 5) spiritual intervention; 6) acceptance of environment. The six continuums are based on nine letters in the Qur'an. In addition, this model also uses a contemporary approach with the use of information channels on various social media platforms in the form of "one-minute advice video", status, tweet support, and others.]]>

<![CDATA[This paper is aimed to reveal An-Naims idea of constitutionalism, human rights, and citizenship in reading the phenomena of some activists struggle for enforcing Shariah in South Sulawesi. It is important to notice that todays debatable issue is about to what extents Shariah can be implemented in Indonesia and how it should be tolerated by Muslims and non-Muslims living there. For such reason, reading An-Naim who has focused on Sharia in a secular state, is necessary. This study has efforts to critically respond An-Naim in the case of KPPSI (Preparatory Committee for the Implementation of Shariah), a committee that believes that special status for South Sulawesi to implement Shariah will be the best solution for Indonesian, especially in South Sulawesi. The discussion is generally divided into three parts: (1) exploring An-Naims points of views, especially in regard with Shariah and secular state; (2) a short description of KPPSI, either about its historical phases or political agenda, in enforcing Shariah in South Sulawesi; and (3) a critical view of Shariah on the ground by which the KPPSI will be used as a case to reconsider about paradoxical applicability of An-Naim notion on Shariah in secular state. To conclude, the important remarks are provided in the end of this paper.]]>

<![CDATA[Mosque is an instrument of empowerment of people who have a very strategic role in efforts to improve the quality and can unite the community. This article aims to describe the role of the Al-Fatah mosque as a pluralistic and socially pluralistic community empowerment center. The main data comes from interviews and observations, while the method used is qualitative descriptive. This article concludes that the empowerment of the pluralist society around Al-Fatah mosque is done by optimizing the role of all community groups in various mosque activities. The mosque can be the center of activity of all community groups because its activities are not limited to religious activities only, but cover other social social.]]>

<![CDATA[Framing analysis, methodically is used to dissect discourse impulses that leading to stigma crystallization. Media frames an issue by using language tools and plays a subconscious role in the attitude and understanding of society. Although, basically, every media does framing, but the problem that comes next is when this framing becomes an interest to postulate the lame proposition socially and logically. This research efforts to analyze in narrative about how religion is mediated by Kompas.com, through framing information issue about the Rape by the Board of Pesantren issue in framing analysis of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki. In conclusion, the Kompas electronic media framing gives rise to a certain tendency toward the negative stigma of pesantren in the public through a narrowing of news content in the media, especially from the interpretation and reporting analysis that revolves around closed syntactic and syntagmatic interactions.]]>

<![CDATA[The research is aimed to measure the effectiveness of Islamic values used as a material in group counseling service in the school to increase the honesty of students at SMP-IT Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta. The research method used is one group pre-test and post-test design experiment involving eight students of SMP-IT Masjid Syuhada. The research subject is chosen from the scale of the lowest honesty and based on the result of discussion among the researcher, the school counselor and the master of the class. The data are collected by using the scale of students’ honesty (ri= 0,367 – 0,729 α= 0,810 ), questionnaire, observation, and interview. The data analysis technique used is wilcoxon signed ranks test.The result of wilcoxon signed ranks test shows different score of the research subject’s (the students) honesty level before and after joining the group counseling service based on Islamic values (manipulation), Z = -2,232 and p-value = 0,026 (p-values 0,050. The practical nuance of Islamic values supports the research subject in understanding and practicing the teaching got from their study and interaction with their parents and other people in their daily life. It can be concluded from the research that group counseling based on Islamic values can increase the students’ honesty, so it can be used to develop the counseling service in the school especially for the students with low level of honesty.]]>

<![CDATA[The role of social assistant is very urgent in the implementation of social assistance programs, social security and social assistance. Citizen assistance is carried out through the Family Capability Improvement Program (P2K2), the activity is called Family Development Session (FDS). This article focuses on the problems that occur in these social assistance activities, especially in the communication barriers between social facilitators and citizens as Beneficiary Families (KPM). The study was conducted based on relevant literature. It was found that active and efficient communication became the determining factor in the implementation of community assistance. An affective strategy needs to be prepared in the assistance of beneficiary citizens so that the program is effective smoothly and efficiently.]]>

<![CDATA[The development of era demands muslimahs to take roles without leaving their identities. When they became career women, they were asked to work outside their houses. How if the women want to keep their faith and obey the Islamic rules by keeping their aurat with jilbab (veil)? Will jilbab disturb their activities when working? How if their working environments do not accept them? The paper discusses the relationship between the activities of women with hijab and their adaptation by analyzing Fatins Hijab Diary. With Scheiders analysis, it can be concluded that Fatin Shidqia Lubis, as an entertainer and public figure has conducted the adaptation process toward her working environment in order to be exist in it without leaving her identity as a muslimah who holds the hijabs principals. The process that has been successfully passed by Fatin shows that jilbab is not an obstruction for women who want to work and be famous.]]>
