Abstract

This research is focused on the development of science profession course in the Program of Communication Studies and Islamic Broadcasting since when it became a part of the Department of Da’wah, STAIN Surakarta, to becoming part of the Da’wah and Communication Major, Faculty of Ushuluddin and Da’wah, IAIN Surakarta. Some problems in this research are: (1) How does the distribution map of the existing profession in the Major of Communication and Islamic Broadcasting (KPI)? (2) How does the development of profession-based courses in the Major of Communication and Islamic Broadcasting (KPI)? Researchers categorize that the distribution map of subjects in KPI Major into six components, namely component Institute, component Department, Component Science Courses of KPI Major, Professional Components of KPI Major in Journalism Concentration, Professional Components of KPI Major in Broadcasting Concentration, Professional Components of KPI Major in Public Relation Concentration. With such a profession component in KPI Major, it can be expected to create students for becoming professionals in their field with the result by targeting appropriate academic skills in learning outcomes and the standards graduates competency will be achieved.

Abstract

The transformation of The State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) towards State Islamic University (UIN) Surakarta is understood as a strategic step to improve the quality of the institution's education. IAIN Surakarta needs to fix several factors, both internal and external, in order to maintain its existence as a public institution in the implementation of Islamic Higher Education. The dilemma faced in the transformation of IAIN towards UIN is the dualism-dichotomic phenomenon of science developed. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. This research was conducted from June 14, 2017 to September 12, 2017. The data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis with inductive thinking methods. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that: 1) Surakarta IAIN needs to develop general study programs as well as integration between general science and Islam, including KPI Study Programs; 2) the development of study programs at IAIN Surakarta is important in order to accelerate the transformation into UIN Surakarta; 2) the rapid trend of media development needs to be addressed by the Surakarta IAIN.

Abstract

The study discusses the types of religious and cultural communication of Kompolan Sabellesen ritual implementing dhikir khataman Tarekat Qadiriyah Nashabandiyah, and how the people in Bluto village mean the values of sufistic proselytizing internalized in Kompolan Sabellesen. The research is a case study with qualitative approach based on anthropological study. The analysis uses the symbolic interpretative madzhab. The result of the study shows that Kompolan Sabellesen has a very important role in the dynamic life of people in Madura. The collaboration of religious and cultural teaching becomes one unity that influences the way how the people view their religion and socialize its religious teaching in the society. Kompolan Sebellesen is a communication medium of religion and culture packed in religious rite collaborated with cultural practices as a means of strengthening Islamic brotherhood to create harmonic and humanitarian society. Moreover, by contemplating dhikir khataman Tarekat Qadiriyah Naqshabandiyah in Kompolan Sabellesen, they feel positive energy that results peace and happiness. In order to get the blessing of sufistic values, they usually use pure water that has been recited some prayers to drink as the manifestation of sacredness in profanity. Thus, the existence of Kompolan Sabellesen should be maintained as mediation and meditation media in approaching the God by using sufistic values internalized in cultural rite.

Abstract

Gadget in the form of smartphone and laptop is a development of information technology and communication in Indonesia. This development is the reason difabel to use gadget in their daily activities. But each of difabel have different motiv and gratifications in using them. So, the aim of research is there is correlation between the difabel use of gadget and satisfaction of interpersonal communication in UIN Sunan Kalijaga. This is quantitative research with the method of purposive sampling and the collection data by questionnaire. Population of data is 72 person and with sample 32 people. The results obtained from this research is proved hypothesis stating that there is a significant positive correlation between the use of gadgets with the satisfaction of interpersonal communication in difabel UIN Sunan Kalijaga.

Abstract

Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam. When the first pillar of Islam until the fourth has been done, the Moslem wants to complete the pillar by performing the pilgrimage as the fifth obligation. However, in modern times today, along with the increasing number of hajj quotas, automatically caused the turn period of hajj to be increased as well. In fact, it raises some problems, especially for the elder Hajj pilgrims. This research aims to identify some problems that arise from the preparation of Hajj until the completion of Hajj in the elderly congregation. The problem is studied based on the perspective of Islamic guidance and counseling by using literature review. This research also uses qualitative approach in the form of case study technique. The result, there are some problems of Hajj experienced by the elderly so that it’s needful for assistance and psychological guidance in the implementation of the pilgrimage by the elderly congregation.

Abstract

Islam is a da’wah religion which disseminate the truth. But on the other hand, Islam is a political religion that is often used as the basis of ideology and struggle in the democratics era that upholds the constitution. Nowadays Muslims have various political channels through Islamic political party. But each Islamic party has different interests although equally portray itself as the da’wah party or Indonesian Muslim political home. In the dynamics, political behavior by using da’wah symbols and labeling was also performed by parties with nationalist genealogy like Partai Demokrasi Indonesia – Perjuangan, Partai Golongan Karya, and Partai Demokrat through the Islamic religious wing organization. One actual case we can make a referral is the DKI Jakarta governor election. That phenomenon is authentic evidence that the negotiation between da’wah and practical politics is happen. To deepen the phenomenon, this study used qualitative types, descriptive approach, and interactive data analyst methods by Miles and Huberman. The research results showed that the da’wah agendas which organized tends to be incidental to adjust with the political constellation that they face and optimized just ahead of key moments in the political calendar like regional head election. It can be concluded that the orientation of Islamic religious wing organization by nationalist political party are more on political da’wah rather than da’wah politics. So that in the negotiations between da’wah and practical politics, the political aspect is more advantaged than the da’wah aspect.

Abstract

The developments in zakah management is considered increasingly important along towards the digital era. Based on studies in the performance of several LAZs carried out, the realization of zakah collection is currently far from the potential of zakah which should be, so LAZ needs to take progressive steps in the implementation of the digitization system. This article aims to reveal the challenges faced by LAZ in the dissemination and collection of zakah in digital era, complete with the obstacles faced. In addition, it was stated about the form of strategy for utilizing digital fundraising channels, such as: websites, email marketing, search engine marketing, social media marketing, and social networks, in order to conduct more optimal zakah collection. This research is a qualitative research, using a literature study approach. Data collected related to the research were taken from several literary sources including scientific journals, several books, and related articles published in online media. As a result, by transforming into the use of canals on digital fundraising, zakah management and collection programs can be carried out better while also educate the public about the obligation for zakah.

Abstract

Attacks promoted by certain elements during a discussion in LKiS of course disturb the society, moreover when they causes social violence. At the same time, the dynamic and diverse condition of society often interprets a problem according to the social condition so the problem never comes to an end. In accordance to the fact, the research was conducted to investigate why the social violence happens easily and it is always identical with Majlis Mujahidin Indonesia (MMI). The research applies descriptive analysis method using the primary and secondary data by learning the locus of research on the social violence happened after the discussion in LKiS Yogyakarta. The internal factors as causes that need to get serious attention from all components of the nation include the poor condition of social welfare, the lack of religious knowledge and the need of a figure who is able to enlighten the society. These factors cause the society behave cruelly. Meanwhile, there are other groups of people who feel that their faith was disturbed, and the absent function of existing security system, have resulted the social violence as an answer for the people who commit acts of violence.Keywords: Models of Propagation, MMI, Social Violence, and LKiS.

Abstract

Commercial sex workers often get rejection, discrimination and negative stigmatization from the community. Even so, there are still many women in Indonesia who work as commercial sex workers. Among them are some commercial sex workers who want to repent and get out of prostitution. This article focuses on describing the efforts of commercial sex workers so that they have the awareness and determination to repent. The use of descriptive qualitative methods on the subject of research originating from former commercial sex workers and guidance counselors suggests that the guidance model implemented in the Asy-Syifa Assembly by combining social and spiritual aspects is capable of motivating commercial sex workers to repent. Implementation of socio-spiritual guidance is manifested through the provision of knowledge, attitude and social interaction, as well as support in the form of advice and motivation.

Abstract

The life of pesantren students (santri) are often connoted to simplicity in standing alone and live what it is worth. Although they live in simplicity, the mahasantri in IDIA Prenduan have happiness logic in their life. The blissfulness means a happiness that is felt by someone. Therefore, this research covered about the logic of happiness of mahasantri in IDIA Prenduan, and the factors of happiness that is enjoyed by mahasantri IDIA Prenduan. By qualitative descriptive method, found that they are happy in living at pesantren campus because they have new friends from all of corner Indonesian Archipelago. In addition, the existence of programs and learning systems that prioritize the lesson kepesantrenan (ma'hadi) and Islamic Shari'a are being a factor of happiness for mahasantri in IDIA Prenduan university.  Togetherness in learning and worship also contribute to other factors of santri happiness. Moreover, the Kiai often raise the theme of gratitude in the lectures and lessons given by the Kiai in IDIA Prenduan. In addition, in the interest of education, IDIA Prenduan efforts to direct its santri to be the the patient and sincere person type. Sincerity is the soul of all branches of human belief and that result of it is the happiness.
