Abstract

This study aims to improve children's science process skills through experimental methods in children in Group B of the Dharma Wanita Kindergarten, Manding Village. This research is a Classroom Action Research. The research model was carried out in two cycles, and each cycle was carried out in two meetings. The subjects of this study were 25 children in group B, comprising 15 boys and 10 girls. Methods of data collection are done through observation and documentation. The results showed that the experimental method could improve children's science process skills. No seven children (28%) had sufficient and good science process skills before the action were taken. After the action in Cycle I, children's science process skills increased by 13 children (52%), and in Cycle II increased to 19 children (76%) with moderate, good, and very good. In learning using the experimental method, the teacher invites children to discuss procedures, equipment, and materials for experiments as well as things that need to be observed during the experiment, then provide an explanation accompanied by examples. Furthermore, children can try to practice themselves, make observations, prove the truth of the predictions, overcome problems arising in the experiment, and draw conclusions.

Abstract

The purpose of Classroom Action Research (CAR) using audio-visual media for this learning is to increase the activity and learning outcomes of PAI (Islamic Religious Education) about the End of Days for Class IX students of SMP. The time of the study was in November 2019. The subjects of this study were Class IXB students in Semester 1 of the 2019/2020 academic year which consisted of 35 children. The data in this study are learning activities and learning outcomes. Data collection tools using observation sheets and written tests. The research procedure uses a Cycle Model which consists of 4 stages, namely Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. The results of this study are (1) learning becomes concrete and interesting; (2) students learn actively and effectively by listening, seeing, analyzing, taking notes, doing individual assignments, asking questions and giving opinions; and (3) students achieving better learning outcomes by increasing average scores and completeness. In the initial conditions, learning completeness is only 28.6%. in this cycle the completeness reached 83.9%. The suggestion is that the teacher: (1) give individual assignments to students to answer questions in writing after watching the film so that students are not only interested in the appearance of the film, but actually observe and analyze the content of the film; (2) paying attention to the content of the film, taking notes and asking questions, so that mastery of the material is increasing; and (3) optimizing the function of the audio-visual room and the completeness of the facilities available as interesting and effective learning media, so that learning is more meaningful.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of realistic mathematics approach on students' mathematical communication skills. This research is a quasi experimental research. The population in this study were all seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Pangkalan Susu. The samples in this study were 2 classes, namely class VII-3 which was used as an experimental class and class VII-4 was used as a control class. The instrument used was a test in the form of a description of the material Plan Figure. From testing the hypothesis obtained t count (2,250) > t table (2.0003) means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows the influence of realistic mathematics approach on students' mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

The beginning of this research was due to students' problems with activities and student learning outcomes. During the passive student learning process,no one asked or contributed to the learning activity. Many student learning outcomes are less than the predetermined KKM value. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of using the Think Talk Write type learning model with the help of learning videos in ICT learning on the activities and learning outcomes of class VIII students. This research was conducted at SMPN 1 Pangkalan Kuras. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with a population of all class VIII SMPN 1 Pangkalan Kuras for the academic year 2021/2022 which opens seven classes. The sample is represented by class 8B as the experimental class and 8F as the control class. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The instruments used for data collection are questionnaires and tests. Data analysis used normality test and homogeneity test and t-test was performed to prove the hypothesis. The result is a significant effect of the use of the Think Talk Write cooperative learning model on activities and learning outcomes on basic computer operating materials taught using cooperative learning models and assisted by animated videos which are higher than student learning outcomes and learning motivation taught by learning models conventional video-assisted animation.

Abstract

Android-Based Ethno-POE Media on the subject of vibration, waves, and sound is a development product that is relevant in the era of technological development as it is today, namely in the form of android-based learning media. In addition, the developed media contains elements of ethnoscience in the form of traditional Wonosobo musical instruments known as Bundengan. The addition of ethnoscience elements in the media is one of the real manifestations in the effort to preserve local culture. The type of research is research and development. The procedure used in this study uses the 4D development procedure that has 4 stages of development, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. Data collection techniques using the method of questionnaires. Then, the data sources were obtained from primary data and secondary data (books and articles related to ethnoscience, POE, android, and vibration, waves, and sound materials) with junior high school students as research subjects. Data analysis using product validity. The result show that: (1) Android-based Ethno-POE media is declared feasible after going through validation by three validators with an average score percentage of 85% and is in the " Very Valid" category. (2) Android-based Ethno-POE media gets a percentage of 80% with the "Very Good" category in terms of practicality.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the need for learning media for Early Childhood Educators (PAUD) in improving language skills in early childhood. (2) Learning Media Development Procedures that are suitable for use in improving early childhood language skills. (3) The implementation of the use of Learning Media using flannel board bags in improving expressive language skills in early childhood. This research method uses the development model developed by Borg & Gall. Brog and Gall argues that the Research and Development (R&D) approach in education includes ten steps. The main purpose of this research and development method is used to produce products and determine the feasibility of the products developed in the form of flannel board bags. Data collection techniques used interviews, FGD (Focus Group Discussion), observation and validation questionnaires from material experts and media experts. Data analysis technique using validity test, reliability test, effectiveness test, practicality test, descriptive statistical analysis, and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The conclusion is that learning with flannel board bags can improve expressive language skills in early childhood.

Abstract

Learning medium are mediums used to convey various learning materials to improve knowledge. One example of a learning medium is books. With the advancement of technology, various books are now available in digital form. The availability of books and learning materials in digital format allows students, especially college students, to use either print format or digital format based on their preferences. This study aim to determine the format preferences of medical students of Tarumanagara University when studying. Descriptive study was conducted on 445 medical students from class of 2018-2020 of Tarumanagara University using the format preference questionnaire that had been modified. Sample were taken using total sampling. The results showed that student’s print format preference during studying were 53,26% while digital format preference were 46,74%. The ease of reading repeatedly with longer duration was the most reason stated by students with print format preferences (43,46%) while the convenience of being able to be read anywhere was the reason stated by students with digital format preference (72,17%). Student’s preference of print and digital format based on language and length of the reading material were questioned as well. The students shows a large preference for print format if the texts are in Bahasa Indonesia (67,42%), while students shows a preference for digital format if the text are presented in foreign language (70,11%). If text’s length are ≥7 page and <7 page, the students prefer to use print format. This study also shows that students have their own techniques/strategies when reading digitally. Underlining/highlighting is the technique mostly used by students (69,66%).From this study, it can be concluded that the majority of Tarumanagara University’s medical students prefers print format rather than digital format for studing purposes, hence Tarumanagara University should provide reading materials in hardcopy to support students academic activites.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the management, obstacles and efforts of the principal in improving the professional competence of teachers at Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTS) Lapang District, North Aceh Regency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method using techniques to obtain data through observation, interviews, and documentation. This study used 10 informants who were determined purposively consisting of the Principal of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTS) Lapang District, Deputy Principals and their staff, some teachers and students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTS) Lapang. The results showed that the principal's management in improving the professional competence of teachers at Madrasah Tsanawiyah, Lapang District, North Aceh Regency was very effective. The principal's management is to improve the teaching abilities of teachers, optimize the utilization and use of media and educational facilities, establish good cooperation with the community, apply strict discipline for students and teachers and carry out regular supervision of teachers and students. Obstacles in improving the professional competence of teachers at Madrasah Tsanawiyah, Lapang District, include: limited flow of funds and incomplete facilities and infrastructure. The principal's effort in this case is to look for opportunities to increase the injection of funds to schools, either through donors, local governments or the central government. The principal strives for the teaching staff to use the media facilities and infrastructure as much as possible even though they are limited.

Abstract

The problem that arises in this research is how the development and feasibility of KIDAL (Digital Audiovisual Comics) media in Indonesian subjects at SDN 3 Kota Barat and SD Integral Hidayatullah Kota Barat, Gorontalo City Is. This Study aims to develop KIDAL learning media and The purpose of this research is to develop KIDAL learning media and to determine the feasibilty of the developed media. This is a type of Research and Development study. Data were collected throught interviews and research instruments. The results of research on the development of KIDAL learning media based on media expert validation obtained a feasibility percentage of 93.5% with a very feasible interpertation, material expert validation obtained feasibilty percentage of 86% with a very feasible interpretation, and validation of learning practitioners/teachers obtained a feasibility of 97% with a very feasible interpretation. If the result of the validation of media experts, material expert, and learning practitioners are accumulated,the media developed obtains an average percentage of 92.2% with a very feasible interpretaion. From these results it can be conculded that the development of KIDAL learning media is very feasible to be used in the learning process and is able to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of students advanced asking skill . The difficulty of students in compiling quality questions is a problem that must be corrected in a lesson. For this reason, researchers apply learning by using an appropriate model to improve students advanced asking skill, namely the Direct Instruction learning model. Direct Instruction was chosen as a model that can increase student activity in the learning process. The subjects of this study were students of 19B1 Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, Pelita Bangsa University, Central Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency. The research method used is Classroom Action Research with a Kemmis and Tagart design (Wiriatmadja, 2005) by using question instruments and student activity sheets. Overall, the results of the study show that students advanced asking skill in learning always show an increase in each cycle. The increase in the percentage increase in achievement in this study covers aspects of students' knowledge and advanced questioning skills. In the aspect of knowledge, the percentage of the first cycle reached 78.25%, the second cycle reached 84.50%, the third cycle reached 90.63%. Meanwhile, in advanced questioning skills, the percentage of the first cycle reached an average of 22.40%, the second cycle reached 68.18%, and in the third cycle it reached 91.38%. So this research it can be concluded that the Direct Instruction learning model can improve students' advanced questioning skills.
