Abstract

This study aims to analyze Abdurrahman Wahid’s thought about democracy including what the factors of his idea in realizing democracy. The method used in this study is historical research method. The result showed that because democratic values haven’t run well, so Abdurrahman Wahid want to implement democracy in the domain of social, political, and economic. According to Abdurrahman Wahid, a democratic state when equalized all citizens before the law, upholds sovereignty law, free stating opinion, apply function checks and balance, and give priority to the welfare. The conclusion is thought Abdurrahman Wahid about democracy influenced by the sociocultural, education, and political experience, who good synergy, until formed the idea of democracy. This research is expected to be a reference for the community to apply the values of democracy in order unites the various interests and the diversity of Indonesian peoples. Abstract

Based on the percentage of classical completeness of learning performance of learners are on the criteria less reflected from the low ability of learners related to material absorption, analytical skills, problem-solving, learning products and learning attitudes. With regard to such matters, a problem solving is required through classroom action research by applying of TBL (Team-Based Learning) model assisted by media video. The purpose of this study is to assess the improvement of learning performance in class XI IPS 3 MAN 1 Jember after the application of TBL model assisted by video media. This research is a classroom action research conducted for three cycles with Kemmis and Mc Tagart model. The sample of the research is the students of class XI IPS 3 MAN 1 Jember a number of 33 students. Data were analyzed quantitatively. Learning performance was measured using five indicators including affective, cognitive and psychomotor spheres while research data was obtained through observation, interview, documentation and test. The result of the research shows that the improvement of learning performance includes: (1) process performance with the percentage of classical completeness equal to 74,66%; (2) the performance of the results obtained a percentage of classical completeness of 77.77% and; (3) the affective domain obtained a percentage of classical completion of 75.75%. Based on the results of research, it can be concluded that the application of TBL model assisted by video media able to improve learning performance include affective, cognitive and psychomotor span. The implication of the writing of this scientific paper is to contribute to the field of education as one of the inputs in overcoming the problem of learning performance in history subjects as well as a contribution to further research related to the model of TBL, video media and learning performance. Abstract

The dynamics of community life around ulo coastal tourism in Jember district have increased, both in terms of economic income increase and socio-cultural changes that occur. The problems in this research are; how is the history of the establishment of Watu Ulo as a tourist attraction ?; and how is the socio-economic life of the people in Watu Ulo Sumberejo village around 2003 ?; and how is the dynamics of socio-economic life of the people in Watu Ulo Sumberejo village in 2003-2015?. Abstract

The Meiji restoration gave a great impact on Japan development into a developed nation. The development of Japan at the Meiji restoration periode required funds in great quantity. The Zaibatsu was a group of entepreneurs with a lot of funds and had developed businesses in various sectors. The cooperation between the Meiji goverment and the Zaibatsu made the restoration well-worked. This research aims to know the contribution of Zaibatsu in granting funds for the development of Japan. This research also describes the history of Zibatasu development. The result of cooperation between the Government of Meiji imperialism and the Zaibatsu was showed by the success of Japan in becoming an industrial nation by retaining its traditional nature. Beside that, the Meiji imperialism had been succeded in developing the economy of Japan. In addition, Japan also had become an imperial nation, showed by the Japanese victory over Russia for taking Korea as the market of Japan industrial products during the reign of Meiji imperialism periode. The Zaibatsu became the side that succesfully advance the economics of Japan so Japan can become a developed nation in the economy, especially in the industry. Abstract

Gus Dur is one of the renewed figures of modernization of Islam in Indonesia, one of which which received deep attention from Gus Dur is the modernization of education within the Islamic Boarding School body which is considered to be able to compete and adapt to the changing times. The formulation of the problem to be studied is as follows; (1) what factors influenced Gus Dur's thinking about the modernization of Islamic Boarding School education ?, (2) how did Gus Dur's thinking about the modernization of Islamic Boarding School education ?, (3) how did Abdurrahman's struggle to realize his thinking about the modernization of Islamic Boarding School education ?. This study uses the sociology of knowledge, while the theory used is the theory of Hermeneutics. The result of this research is some conception about the division in the field of Islamic education that will provide progress for Islamic Boarding School education in the future.Keywords: Islamic Boarding School, Modernization of Education

Abstract

The paradigm change colleges associated with the concept of student centered learning requires the learning process more active learners. Learning components on the concept of student centered learning is the learners and teaching materials. One of the teaching materials is a module. This research aims to develop a Jember Prehistoric Tourism Object Module. The method used Dick and Carey research design. Modules will be tested on 2014 academic year history education students. The data analysis was obtained from expert material validity, expert design and language expert using descriptive method through questionnaire, product effectivity test developed from learning outcome obtained from pretest and posttest. Modul validity result showed that expert material validity was 83%, expert design validity was 87,14%, language expert validity was 81,7%, and product effectivity was 71,2%, that means the product was valid and effective in improving student’s learning outcome. It can be said that Jember prehistorical tourism object module can be used by the students as the media of learning history. Keywords: Module, Dick and Carey Model, validity, effectiveness

Abstract

National Festival Reyog Ponorogo is a staging of Reyog Arts with the format of the race held at the Main Stage of Ponorogo central park as one of the efforts made by the Government to preserve the Arts of Reyog Ponorogo. The art of Reyog, which was initially forgotten by many people ranging from young to old, increasingly decreasing demand by the current globalization. Reyog art cannot be used properly and experienced a shift. The younger generation is increasingly reluctant to preserve their ancestral cultures because they have thought that following the traditional arts it will be termed as non-modern young men. The purpose of this study is as one way to invite young people to participate preserve Reyog Arts to be known in various regions of the archipelago. This research is a historical research that has steps include: heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography. Data collection was done by observation, interview and documentation. The results of this research showed that the implementation of Reyog Ponorogo National Festival can preserve the Arts Reyog Ponorogo and promote the Ponorogo Regency as a tourist destination for local and foreign tourists. It is proven by the participation of festival participants from Sumatra, Kalimantan, DKI Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Universitas Brawijaya, Jember University, SMKN 2 Wonogiri etc. National Festival Reyog Ponorogo can increase the income of the people and the local government of Ponorogo through the trade, transportation and services sector as well as the hospitality sector. In addition, the festival can also be a medium for the planting of characters for the younger generation of the values pertained in the arts of Reyog Ponorogo. This research is expected to be a means to cultivate the interest of the young generation to preserve the arts of Reyog and can instil the values contained in Reyog Art so that the younger generation and society know that Reyog Art not only serves as a spectacle of neglect as well as life guidance. Abstract

The Cultural Revolution is a great campaign that made China suffered paralysis in 1966-1976 led by Mao. The Cultural Revolution because there are two factors, the first is the decline of public trust in Mao for policy failures leap far ahead so that Mao stepped down from government. Secondly, Mao wanted to restore China to communism, because China has been influenced by the understanding of the capitalist and liberal. The Cultural Revolution has failed and resulted in many victims, especially the peasants and workers. These conditions cause this interesting study to be carried out, because of the Cultural Revolution can paralyze China in 1966-1976. The problems of this study are; (1) how the background of the onset of the Cultural Revolution; (2) how the Cultural Revolution took place; (3) the influence of the Cultural Revolution to the Chinese community. The purpose of this study is; (1) to analyze the background of the Cultural Revolution; (2) to analyze the process of the Cultural Revolution; (3) to analyze the influence of the Cultural Revolution to the Chinese community. The method used is the method of historical study, historical method is the process of testing and critically analyze the records and relics of the past. The conclusion of this study that used Mao's Cultural Revolution to restore public confidence by doing defamation to his enemies to again be the leader. Abstract

provided a variety of school education for indigneous people to obtain education. The error in this research is how is the education politics background education in Java the national movement of 1908-1928 ?, how is the system of education in Java the national movement of 1908-1928 ?. This research aimed to decrypt education in Java the national movement of 1908-1928. This research method is using historical research method by using approach of sociology of education. The benefits of this research, is expected to increase knowledge and can be used as a source of learning and can be used as a reference for further research. The conclusion that can be drawn from this research is first, Political education of Dutch colonial government in Java year 1908-1928 and education system in Java during national movement year 1908-1928.

Abstract

Social and economic movement in this case is a change in the community around the tomb of Gus Dur at Cukir village years 2009-2016 towards the better. The changes that occurred in the economy is evident impact on income and the improvement of the education of children around the tomb, say previous earnings ranging between Rp. 1,500,000 monthly increase of around Rp. 2,000,000 every weekend. While social changes seen from the kind of occupations, how interact people around the tomb interact to sellers from outside the Cukir village and enterprise spirit of communities around the tomb, for example changes in the type of occupations from agricultural sector into the trade sector. The problems that were examined are: (1) how is the socio-economic conditions before 2009? (2) what are the factors that cause social and economic movement? (3) how the socio-economic movement around the family tomb complex in the village of Gus Dur Cukir years 2009-2016?. The purpose of this study are: (1) to assess the socio-economic conditions of society before 2009; (2) to examine factors that cause social and economic movement; (3) to assess the socio-economic changes of society around the family tomb complex in the village of Gus Dur Cukir years 2009-2016. This study used heuristic method with the stage of history, criticism, interpretation and historiography.
