Abstract

Introducing the culture as early as possible to students can be done through the learning process. Local culture can be presented in the material or practice questions given by the teacher. Many things can be learned from Pekalongan City as a creative city (UNESCO) so that it can be integrated in the mathematics learning process and one of the mathematical abilities that must be mastered by students is the ability to understand mathematical concepts. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the culture-based statistical material of Pekalongan City. This study uses a descriptive study method of literature study which is included in one of the processes for developing worksheets for students of culture-based statistical materials in Pekalongan City. The collection technique uses interviews, questionnaires, and observations. The results of this study found that the questions developed can measure the ability to understand mathematical concepts and can introduce more deeply about Pekalongan City towards their students. So in addition to introducing the culture of Pekalongan City through learning, it can also be done with the evaluation questions. The ability to understand mathematical concepts in data presentation material can be measured through questions based on local culture. It also has a goal so that students' learning interest in mathematics material becomes high.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze the items about students' mathematical critical thinking skills by using Graded Response Models (GRM). This research is a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The research subjects here were VIII grade students of MTs Al Muhajirin Panjang 2018/2019 school year, totaling 30 students by means of purposive sampling. Data collection techniques are carried out by written tests (essays) and interviews. The data analysis technique is using the Graded Response Models (GRM) test, which is then combined with data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that students with high ability categories can generally say that students can work on mathematical critical thinking tests well according to mathematical critical thinking criteria in accordance with indicators of critical thinking questions. Students with moderate abilities can generally be concluded that students who have moderate abilities have not been too capable of working on mathematical critical thinking tests well according to mathematical critical thinking criteria. As well as low-ability students in general it can be concluded that students who have low ability have not been able to at all work on mathematical thinking test questions properly according to mathematical critical thinking criteria.

Abstract

This research was based on the background of the lack of critical thinking skills of students in SMP PGRI 6 Bandar Lampung. This is caused by several factors, one of which is the selection of learning models such as conventional learning models that are continuously applied by teachers in the classroom. Efforts to address these problems, researchers aim to determine whether there is the effect of problem-based learning with cognitive conflict strategies towards students' critical thinking skills better than conventional learning. This research is a type of experimental research from Quasi Experimental design. This study uses the Pretest design - Posttest Control Group. The subjects in this study were VII grade students of PGRI 6 SMP Bandar Lampung with a total sample of 62 students. The sampling technique was carried out by means of class random techniques. Instruments used to collect data in tests of critical thinking skills. For the normality test using the Liliefors test, the homogeneity test uses a similarity test of two variances. The hypothesis test used in this study is the t-test on n-gain data. With a sample of 62 students and a significant level of α = 0.005 obtained t table = 2,0002 and the calculation results obtained by tcount = 2.50791, it can be seen that tcount> ttable then H0 is rejected. Thus it can be concluded that whether there is the influence of problem-based learning with cognitive conflict strategies towards students' critical thinking skills better than conventional learning.

Abstract

Education students must be someone who is intelligent and able to think creatively in the future as an educator. But in reality it is not small when students are tested to perform properly like a teacher. Microteaching courses can be used as a solution for students to learn how to work as educators. Not only in the microteaching course, students can learn how to become good educators, other subjects that support basic mathematics and teaching and learning strategies, so the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of basic mathematics and teaching and learning strategies on microteaching subjects. This study uses a purposive sampling technique with a sample of research determined by students of class E T.A 2015/2016. This study uses linear regression calculations and correlations with Ms. Excel in order to find out which of the 2 courses that have been taken is the one that most influences the appearance of students in the microteaching course. The results showed that the teaching and learning strategy subjects had the most influence on the appearance of students in the microteaching course with a correlation value (0.20).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is the development of ICARE based learning modules for effective learning Improving learning outcomes of students using the developed modules. This type of research is research and development, better known as Research and Development (R & D). The research model used in this study is ADDIE. Analysis of technical data was carried out by validity analysis, practicality, and effectiveness. The learning module that produces the average final score of the material expert is 4.41 with very valid criteria, and the average final value of the media experts is 4.03 with very valid criteria, Practical quality modules are very practical with an average of 3 , 49, and module effectiveness is very high with an average of 90%. The results showed that the teaching materials developed had met the feasibility and fulfilled the requirements to be used as ICARE-based learning modules in statistical material for grade VIII SMP / MTs students.

Abstract

Based on the pre-research results show that the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students VII SMPTaman Siswa Teluk Betung Bandar Lampung still low, it is important for students to have the ability to understand mathematical concepts. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Flipped Classroom learning model to improve the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts. This research is a type of quasi experimental design. The population in this study were grade VII students of Taman Siswa Teluk Betung, Bandar Lampung. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling. Cluster random sampling is the random sampling of members from the population regardless of the strata in the population. The instrument to be used in this study is an instrument in the form of a test instrument. The test is given in the form of a description item (essay) which is intended to determine the ability to understand the concepts of students in mathematics learning. The mean similarity test uses a one-way analysis of variance intended to determine whether the sample group has the same average or not statistically. To test the similarity of the average experimental class and control class, the two-party t test was used. Based on the final test hypothesis or posttest ability to understand students' mathematical concepts in the comparison material can be seen that t = 2.2617> t table = 2.0024 means that at the significance level α = 0.05 H0 is rejected, thus it can be concluded that the ability to understand mathematical concepts increases through learning with Flipped Classroom models than those using conventional learning models.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the DMR model with the CBSA approach to the ability of mathematical representation, the effect of students’ learning motivation on mathematical of interaction between learning models and learning motivation on the mathematical representation ability of grade VII students of state junior high school 19 Bandar Lampung. This type of research is Quasi-experiment and design used is post-test only control. The population of this study was all students of class VII of state junior high school 19 Bandar Lampung. The technique used for sampling is cluster random sampling. The sample in this study were students of clas VII B as the experimental class and students of class VII C as the control class. The testing of hypothesis uses two-way analysis of variance with unequal cell. The results obtained in this study are: (1) there is an influence between the DMR learning model and the CBSA approach to mathematical representation abilities; (2) there is influence between students who have high, medium and low learning motivation towards mathematical representation abilities; (3) there is no interaction between the learning model and learning motivation towards the ability of mathematical representation.

Abstract

Spatio Temporal or Space Time Model is a stochastic processes which indexed by space and time simultaneously. In this paper we studied a development of spatio temporal model especially in Generalized Spatio temporal Autoregressive (GSTAR) model which is developed from Spatio temporal Autoregressive (STAR) model from Pfeifer (1979). STAR and GSTAR models are developed as a univariate time series from Box-Jenkins (1976). GSTAR model is a stationary multivariate time series model, which has an assumption that parameters are vary per location, so it is capable for heterogenous locations characteristic. GSTAR model can be applied for forecasting an observation at the future time based on lag time before and influenced by the observations at surrounding locations. For example of GSTAR model can be used in forecasting of oil production at oil wells at volcanic field Jatibarang, forcasting of tea productivities at several plantations in West Java and forecasting of rainfall at West Java area etc. The stationary GSTAR model can be extend to be GSTAR-X with addition of exogeneous variable, or to be non-stationary model as GSTARI or GSTAR-ARCH and KSTAR-Kriging. To make easier in estimaton of parameters of GSTAR model , we built an interactive software using the script of opensource R software using Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method.  Spatio Temporal Model especially the GSTAR model can be used for recommendation of management in decision making at a certain area.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of Problem Solving learning models assisted by LEAD Adversity Quotient on mathematical problem solving abilities compared to conventional learning, the influence of gender differences on students 'mathematical problem solving abilities and the interaction between learning models and gender differences on students' mathematical problem solving abilities . The method used is the Quasy Experiment method, this study uses analysis of variance (ANAVA) two ways with unequal cells. Data collection techniques using tests, the research instruments used were tests of mathematical problem solving abilities. The results of the study showed that (1) There was an effect of the Problem Solving learning model through improving students' problem solving abilities. (2) There is an influence of sex in improving students 'problem solving skills (3) There is no interaction between learning models and gender in improving students' problem solving skills

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there are differences in the increase in mathematical connection skills of students who are given the application of outdoor learning with media clinometers with conventional learning. This research is a quasi-experimental research (Quasy Experimental Design). This study uses independent variables, namely outdoor learning with clinometer media with symbol (X) and the dependent variable is the students' mathematical connection ability with a symbol (Y). This study used a pretest and posttest-only control design. The instrument used in this study is a test that is used to determine the completeness of student learning outcomes and students' mathematical connection skills. Data collection was done with questions about the pretest and posttest in the control class and experiment. The hypothesis testing of the researcher uses the t-test. Based on the research results it can be concluded that there are differences in the increase in mathematical connection ability of students given the application of outdoor learning with media clinometers with conventional learning and from the results of N-gain data processing it can be concluded that students' mathematical connection ability with outdoor learning with clinometer media is better than learning conventional.
