Abstract

Penelitian mengenai upaya peningkatan dan pembinaan keprofesionalan guru bersertifikat pendidik melalui implementasi Lesson Study pada satuan pendidikan menengah pertama, Yayasan Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah (YPDM) Pasundan, Kota Administratif Cimahi, telah dilaksanakan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh implementasi kebijakan sertifikasi guru terhadap peningkatan kompetensi guru, serta untuk mengetahui secara mendalam faktor-faktor penyebab belum efektifnya implementasi kebijakan sertifikasi guru. Metode yang digunakan adalah Metode Reseseach and Development (R &D) yang mencakup kegiatan pemetaan SMP Pasundan di wilayah Kotip Cimahi yang memiliki guru-guru bersertifikat pendidik; pengukuran kompetensi guru bersertifikat pendidik melalui tes tertulis; identifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kompetensi guru melalui pengamatan, pemantauan dan evaluasi diri; analisis data, serta pelaporan. Instrumen penelitian divalidasi melalui pemeriksaan dan pertimbangan pakar (judgement expert) serta uji coba implementasi kepada guru-guru bersertifikat pendidik. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Pasundan I, II dan III Cimahi dengan subjek 28 orang guru bersertifikat pendidik, pada tahun 2012. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan kompetensi guru bersertifikat pendidik di SMP Pasundan wilayah Kotip Cimahi relatif baik, dengan skor rata-rata IPA 56,78; Matematika 78,33; PKn 50,50; IPS 60,00; Bahasa Indonesia 50,00;dan Bahasa Inggris 46,87. Temuan didapatkan bahwa kompetensi guru sebagai tolok ukur keprofesionalan guru harus senantiasa dibina dan ditingkatkan. Abstract

This study is the first stage of a longitudinal study on teacher professional development, particularly in writing scientific papers. From the researchers’ experience as trainers in teacher development program, it was found that most teachers found it difficult to write scientific writings. Hence, this study was attempted to investigate series of observations was done to analyze teachers’ difficulties in making academic writing, with questionnaires as the data collection instrument. Conducted in 2014, 44 respondents–7 male and 37 female teachers from Bandung and Cimahi–were given questionnaires and 42 respondents submitted the questionnaires back. From the questionnaires it was found that teachers’ knowledge in writing academic writing was 20.7%, teachers’ attitude towards academic writing was 15.5%, teachers’ motivation in making academic writing was 15.5%, teachers’ motivation in joining academic writing training was 56%, and teachers’ skill in writing academic paper was 7.8%. From the data, the researchers tried to collect further data on teachers’ relatively low knowledge, attitude and skills in academic writings in order to make training model to improve those aspects. The data served as the basis for conducting further research employing research and development (R & D) methods on making a teacher training model focusing in academic writing for teachers in Bandung and Cimahi that have already been in colom for six years as an attempt to sustainably develop teachers’ professional competence.

Abstract

Implementation of a good learning process should use appropriate learning media and can support contextual learning, and one such medium is a butterfly house. The research method is quasi-experiment. The result of the research shows that there is an increase of student learning result of biology teacher candidate using butterfly house as a medium of learning in Genetics course significantly in the medium category. This increase is not in the high category because there are many technical obstacles in the process of preserving butterflies, but these are the technical constraints that make the process of solving the problem in maintaining butterflies can be honed. Thus the use of butterfly house as a learning medium of Biology is to bridge the difficulty of studying butterflies in the wild and lack of study of butterflies using the media animation.

ABSTRACTResearch and development efforts to increase the professionalism of teacher educators certified through the implementation of Lesson Study in units of secondary education, Elementary and Secondary Education Foundation (ESEF) Pasundan, City Administrative Cimahi, have been conducted. The purpose of this study were to determine the effect of teacher certification policy implementation to increase teachers' competence, and to investigate in depth the factors that cause the ineffectiveness of teacher certification policy implementation. The method used is the method Reseseach and Development (R D) which includes mapping SMP Pasundan in the Kotip Cimahi who have teachers certified educators; measuring teacher competence certified educator through a written test; identifying the factors that influence teachers' competence through observation, monitoring and self-evaluation; analyzing data, and reporting. Validated research instrument through examination and consideration of expert (expert judgment) as well as the implementation of the pilot teachers certified educators. The experiment was conducted in junior Pasundan I, II and III Cimahi with 28 subjects certified teacher educator, in 2012. Results of this study demonstrate competence certified teacher in junior high school educator Pasundan Cimahi Kotip region is relatively good, with an average score of 56.78 IPA; Mathematics 78.33; Civics 50.50; IPS 60.00; Indonesian 50.00, and Language UK 46.87. The findings showed that the teachers' competence as a measure of teacher professionalism must always be fostered and enhanced.

Abstract

Puri Cipageran Indah (PCI) I market waste in Cimahi City is currently not managed by implementing local reduction and processing. Currently, waste is only collected and transported to the nearest TPS, without sorting and processing. There is a desire from local RW managers to do better waste management. Currently, there are around 108 traders in the market area, which only operate from 06.00-10.00 and in the afternoon for culinary traders. There is land for processing which is very limited in size (3×2 m) so that the processing technology that can be applied is also limited. One technology that can be applied is the processing of organic waste using Black Soldier Flies (BSF) larvae. Activities are carried out by holding meetings and mutual agreements regarding the layout of sanitation facilities including waste management. The provision of training to process waste using BSF larvae (maggot) was also carried out. The construction of facilities and environmental improvements are coordinated directly by partners by following the results of the agreement and research results regarding the waste processing process using maggot. In general, the activity went well, residents of PCI I Housing represented by the PCI Forum stated that they were greatly helped by the arrangement of the market area to be better and with educational nuances for the general public.

Abstract

Alternaria sp. is one the causess of diseases that attack citrus crops. Pest and diseases control efforts by farmers more often use pesticide synthesis. This study aims to determine the inhibition of mushroom growth and other benefits of galangal extract as a natural fungicide and determine the optimum concentration of galangan extract inhibiting the growth mushroom of Alternaria sp.. The method used was experimental, testing conducted by growing mycelium mushroom Alternaria sp. on a PDA that has been mixed with extract of galangal in according to the respective concentrations and analyze growth response by measuring the diameter. The best results indicated by the treatments 60% that control the growth of mushrooms with deaths amounted to 79%. This shown that galangal extract is able to control the growth of Alternaria sp. at concentrations 60% compared to a concentration of 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% because the active compounds at concentrations that are 60% higher, so galangal extract diffuse into the cell the growing of mushrooms and may cause disruption the growth mushrooms Alternaria sp.. The higher concentration of extract given, the ability to controlling the growth mushroom of Alternaria sp. the better. The utilization of galangal material is done as an alternative fungicide in the control of plant diseases that are eco friendly.

Abstract

The thinking ability of pre service Biology teacher students must have high-level thinking skills, because they are prospective teachers for the millennial generation, therefore it is necessary to measure students' thinking levels so that prospective Biology teachers can prepare themselves from the start in an effort to improve their students' thinking skills in the future. This study aims to determine the level of students' thinking skills based on Marzano's (1997) taxonomy which includes Level 1: Retrieval, Level 2: Comprehension, Level 3: Analysis, Level 4: Knowledge utilization, Level 5: Metacognitive, Level 6: Self system. The method used in this research is one group pre test post test design. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the pre-test scores (M=27.42, SD=11.73) and post-test scores (M=65.22, SD=13.96) with the average N-gain being 0.52 which is in the medium category. Meanwhile, for the level of thinking ability, it shows that the highest contribution to increasing the average score is at level 2, namely comprehension and level 3, namely analysis, with each increasing score of 49 points. Level 6, which is the self system, also increased almost the same, as much as 48 points. Based on the results of these studies, it can be concluded that Examples Based Learning can increase the level of students' thinking skills

Abstract

Memiliki keturunan adalah impian untuk setiap pasangan yang sudah menikah, tetapi tidak bisa disangkal bahwa ada keadaan tertentu di mana seorang istri tidak dapat hamil karena kelainan di rahimnya atau ada faktor lain yang mebuat seorang istri tidak dapat hamil. Teknologi kedokteran telah menemukan solusi untuk pasangan yang mempunyai masalah sulitnya mendapatkan keturunan tersebut misalnya dengan inseminasi buatan atau dengan teknologi fertilisasi invitro yang dikenal dengan bayi tabung. Dalam perkembangannya program bayi tabung dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan ibu pengganti atau dikenal dengan istilah Surrogate mother. Secara Ilmu kedokteran Praktik Surrogacy bisa dilakuan, bisa dijelaskan secara ilmiah dan memenuhi kaidah-kaidah kelmuan. Nmaun demikian segala sesuatu yang bisa dilakukan bukan berarti boleh secara etika, hukum dan aturan agama. Praktik Surrogacy pada kenyataannya banyak menimbulkan perdebatan dan kontroversi terutama ditinjau dari etika, hukum dan agama baik di Indonesia maupun negara lain. Meskipun ada juga beberapa negara yang membolehkan praktik ini seperti India, Thailand, Inggris, Amerika dan Australia. Praktik Surrogacy dalam Peraturan Hukum indonesia dilarang hal ini sesuai dengan pasal 16 UU No. 23 Tahun 1992 Tentang kesehatan dan Keputusan Menteri Kesehatan No. 72 / Menkes / Per / II / 1999 tentang Penyelenggaraan teknologi Reproduksi Buatan dan mengatur tentang hukum pelaksanaan bayi tabung. Praktik Surrogacy menurut tinjauan etika moral juga bertenatangan dengan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan bahkan menurut European Centre for Law and Justice tahun 2012 menyatakan bahwa Surrogate mother adalah kekerasan terhadap hak asasi manusia karena mengeksploitasi anak dan wanita, menjadikan mereka sebagai komoditi bisnis. Praktik Surrogacy juga dilarang secara tegas oleh berbagai ajaran agama seperti Islam, Kristen, katolik, Hindu dan Budha

Abstract

Ant, Dolichoderus sp, interact mutually with aphid (Aphis sp).  The ants specifically communicate with the aphid by means of antennal sign.  A hungry ant will approach an aphid and touch it dorsal part using ant antennae; in respond to this, will expel honey dew.  To further study the pattern of communication between the ant and the aphid, their movement was recorded using Handycam JVC GR-SXM 300 AC.  The records were processed using Adobe Premier Pro 1.5.  The results showed that the ant antennae moved in a specific pattern which could be classified into 4 main steps.     The first step consisted of 8 movements which formed 2 movement patterns.  The second step consisted of 3 main repeated movements.  The third step consisted of 3 main repeated movements.  The fourth step consisted of 6 main movements which were repeated several times before the final movement.  Such pattern of antennae movement was recognized by the aphid as tactile signal of ant identity.

Abstract

Kemampuan problem solving merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki pada perkembangan abad 21 agar peserta didik dapat menghadapi dan menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan dengan baik. Banyak faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan problem solving, salah satunya dengan pemanfaatan model pembelajaran yang berpusat pada peserta didik seperti flipped classroom yang dapat mebantu peserta didik belajar secara mandiri. Selain itu pemanfaatan media pembelajaran juga dapat membantu terlaksananya kegiatan pembelajaran dengan baik dan menarik. Pada penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan bantuan media kahoot dalam proses pelaksanaan kegiatan pretest-posttest. Instrument soal yang digunakan berupa pilihan ganda yang disesuaikan dengan komponen kemampuan problem solving. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui adanya peningkatan dari kemampuan problem solving peserta didik dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran flipped classroom berbantu media kahoot dalam mempelajari materi biologi. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pre-eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-posttest dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian yaitu peserta didik kelas X Ipa 6 SMAN 1 Katapang yang berjumlah 30 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukan nilai signifikansi lebih kecil dari taraf siginifikansi, sehingga hipotesis alternatif pada penelitian diterima dimana terdapat peningkatan kemampuan problem solving setelah pembelajaran menggunakan flipped classroom berbantu media kahoot. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hasil postif dengan adanya peningkatan yang dari hasil penggunaan model pembelajaran flipped classroom berbantu media kahoot terhadap kemampuan problem solving peserta didik kelas X Ipa 6 SMAN 1 Katapang.
