Abstract

Students’ evaluations of teaching (SETs) have been an important and the most commonly used method for evaluating teaching quality in higher education institutions. They provide feedback from students to faculty and administrators. The majority SET instruments used in Indonesia were developed based on the faculty/administrators’ knowledge and experience or adopted from other higher education institutions with or without modifications. This study aims to develop a SET instrument based on both educational theory and empirical data. Using data collected from a total of 755 students of Politeknik Negeri Bandung, the underlying dimensions and the psychometric properties of the instrument were tested. The exploratory factor analysis generated a three-factor solution. A confirmatory factor analysis was then run to cross-validate the item indicators of each factor/dimension. The reliability and validity of the instrument were also tested. The final version of SET instrument encompasses 15 items in three dimensions. The three dimensions were labeled as preparation and organization (4 items), instructional delivery (7 items), and examination and feedback (4 items). Although it was developed using student samples from Politeknik Negeri Bandung, the newly developed instrument can be used in any higher education institutions.

Abstract

Bandung is a popular tourist destination in Indonesia and a gateway for tourists who visit destinations around greater Bandung areas. Currently, Bandung is also known as a culinary, shopping, and nature tourism destination. Past studies have measured the image of Bandung as a tourist destination. However, the measurements were done partially due to the use of quantitative method only. Thus, the results were not comprehensive. To resolve the drawbacks of the previous studies, this study used both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data were collected from 430 domestic tourists by ways of structured and unstructured interviews in 20 different destinations in Bandung and the surrounding. Data were processed by descriptive statistical methods, factor analysis and content analysis. The results of quantitative analysis show that, in term of functional-attribute, Bandung was positively perceived as a destination characterized with natural scenic beauty, many interesting places, and various exotic foods. In terms of the psychological-attribute, Bandung was perceived as the right place for shopping and culinary tourism. The results of qualitative analysis indicate that, functionally, Bandung was a destination with natural scenic beauty, pleasant weather and provide various exotic foods. Psychologically, the tourists experienced calm and tranquil atmosphere, happiness, and comfort.

Abstract

In order to increase the number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia, entrepreneurship education at universities has an important role to foster interest in entrepreneurship. Few studies using qualitative approaches that aim to capture the change in entrepreneurial mindset of college student. The purpose of this research is to describe understanding the formation of interest in entrepreneurship as an impact of the education process. Using exploratory and inductive research approaches, this study reveals a combination of cognitive factors, attitudes, and skills related to the process of entrepreneurship education in tertiary institutions. Thus, the impact of this research is expected to be to improve the quality of the entrepreneurship education curriculum in higher education. Dalam rangka meningkatkan jumlah wirausahawan di Indonesia, pendidikan kewirausahaan pada perguruan tinggi memiliki peranan yang penting untuk menumbuhkan minat berwirausaha. Penelitian yang menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif belum banyak dilakukan untuk mengungkapkan bagaimana perubahan pola pikir berwirausaha dari pendiddikan kewirausahaan. Tujuan peneltian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan secara lengkap pembentuk minat berwirausaha sebagai dampak proses pendidikan. Mengunakan pendekatan riset eksploratif dan induktif, studi ini mengungkapkan kombinasi faktor kognitif, sikap, keterampilan yang berhubungan dengan proses pendidikan kewirausahaan di perguruan tinggi. Dengan demikian, dampak dari penelitian ini diharapkan akan dapat meningkatkan kualitas kurikulum pendidikan kewirausahaan di perguruan tinggi.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk memahami pola perilaku belanja fesyen online wanita Generasi Y Indonesia. Secara khusus, meneliti peran internet dan fesyen dalam mendorong konsumsi online. Industri fesyen online terus meningkat secara signifikan, dan konsumsi belanja online wanita Generasi Y Indonesia cukup tinggi. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini penting bagi sektor bisnis di bidang fesyen atau platform online untuk memahami konsumen potensialnya, dengan memiliki pemahaman lebih mengenai motivasi dan peran internet saat berbelanja online di era kompetitif ini. Pendekatan kualitatif melalui wawancara dengan delapan peserta digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Pengolahan data menggunakan analisis tematik induktif. Tiga tema muncul dari data: Motivasi untuk tampil fesyenable, sumber informasi trend fesyen, fasilitas transaksi online. Temuan menunjukan bahwa motivasi utilitarian mendorong konsumsi online dan fesyen dijadikan sebagai identitas diri. Kemudian, peran Instagram digunakan sebagai referensi fesyen. Sedangkan, e-commerce sebagai sarana terpercaya belanja online. Namun, penelitian ini perlu memperluas tingkatan dari generalisasi Generasi dan kesetaraan gender untuk memahami motivasi belanja online lebih luas. Studi ini menyediakan data yang kaya untuk analisis lebih lanjut. Studi ini memberikan data yang berisi wawasan untuk manajer pemasaran yang bergerak di sektor bisnis bidang fesyen atau platform online bidang lainnya, yang menggunakan internet sebagai alat strategi bisnis.
