Application of the Problem-Based Learning Model to Improve Learning Outcomes of Class VI Students of SD Negeri Kedungwaru Hikmawati Hikmawati; Zulfan Zulfan; Tangdliman Tangdliman

Abstract

Every teacher expects all students to achieve mastery in learning above the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). The learning outcomes of grade VI students of SD Negeri Kedungwaru have not reached maximum completeness, namely there are 12 children out of 26 children whose scores are above the KKM. This shows the need for efforts to improve student learning outcomes. The purpose of this community service activity is to improve the learning outcomes of grade VI students at SD Negeri Kedungwaru through the application of a problem-based learning model. The location for the implementation of the activity is at SD Negeri Kedungwaru, Prembun District, Kebumen Regency, Central Java. The time for carrying out activities in the classroom is carried out for 2 days, namely on August 26, 2022 and September 13, 2022. The number of participants in the activity, namely all sixth-grade students, is 26 people. The method of activity includes 3 parts, namely introduction, core, and closing. In the preliminary activities, apperception, motivation, and delivery of goals are carried out. In the core activities, 6 things are carried out namely orientation of students to problems, organizing students, guiding individual or group investigations, developing and presenting work, and analyzing and evaluating problem-solving processes. In the closing activity, concluding activities, learning reflections, and evaluations (giving tests) are carried out. The results of the activities show that: In learning 1 the average value of students from the aspect of knowledge assessment is 86.06, skills assessment is 85.58, while in learning 2 the average value of students from the aspect of knowledge assessment is 89.62, a skills assessment is 86.38. In the 1st and 2nd lessons, the value of all students has exceeded the KKM, with a KKM score of 70, so the number of students who have completed reached 100%, which is 26 students. From the aspect of assessing students' social attitudes in learning 1, 91% of students showed high curiosity, confidence and cooperation, and in learning 2 increased to 96%. Thus, community service activities in the form of applying a problem-based learning model can improve the learning outcomes of sixth graders at SD Negeri Kedungwaru in terms of knowledge, skills, and social attitudes.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to improve the mastery of science concepts for fourth grade students of SD Negeri Beber through the use of simple teaching aids. The activity was carried out in class for 2 meetings, namely 27 August 2022 and 10 September 2022, located at SD Negeri Beber, Batukliang, Central Lombok, NTB. The number of participants who took part in the activity was 25 students. The method of activity starts from preparation, implementation, and evaluation. In the preparation stage, the team prepares simple teaching aids that will be used in learning, including learning tools, namely the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), teaching materials, student worksheets (LKPD), and assessment instruments. At the implementation stage, the team conducted learning using simple teaching aids and other learning tools. At the evaluation stage, the team reflected on the learning. The simple teaching aids used in this activity are science teaching aids for the concept of sound and energy sources. The results of the activity show that the average value of mastery of science concepts at the first meeting is 86.2 with a percentage of learning completeness of 87%, while at the second meeting the average value of mastery of science concepts is 94.3 with a percentage of learning completeness of 94%. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of simple teaching aids can improve the mastery of science concepts for fourth grade students of SD Negeri Beber

Abstract

Hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Bruno masih belum optimal. Ketuntasan siswa dalam belajar masih perlu ditingkatkan karena masih terdapat siswa yang nilainya belum mencapai KKM sebesar 75. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Bruno melalui penerapan model problem-based learning. Kegiatan dilaksanakan sebanyak 2 kali pertemuan, yakni tanggal 26 Agustus 2022 dan 13 September 2022. Pada pertemuan ke-1, materi yang dipelajari adalah Tema 4 (Berbagai Pekerjaan), Sub tema 3 (Pekerjaan Orang Tuaku), sedangkan pada pertemuan ke-2, materi yang dipelajari adalah Tema 5 (Pahlawanku), Sub tema 1 (Perjuangan Para Pahlawan). Peserta kegiatan meliputi seluruh siswa kelas IV sebanyak 24 orang. Nilai rata-rata siswa pada pertemuan ke-1 adalah sebesar 82,73 dengan ketuntasan belajar siswa sebesar 62,50 %, sedangkan pada pertemuan ke-2 adalah 87,08 dengan ketuntasan belajar siswa sebesar 91,67 %. Dengan demikian, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa penerapan model problem-based learning telah meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Bruno, yakni pada Tema 4 (Berbagai Pekerjaan), Sub tema 3 (Pekerjaan Orang Tuaku) dan Tema 5 (Pahlawanku), Sub tema 1 (Perjuangan Para Pahlawan).

Abstract

HOTS merupakan kompetensi yang diperlukan pada abad 21. Kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal bertipe HOTS masih rendah. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek sebagai upaya meningkatkan kemampuan siswa kelas IV SDN Leuwihieum dalam mengerjakan soal bertipe HOTS. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SDN Leuwihieum selama 2 kali pertemuan, yakni 27 Agustus 2022 dan 12 September 2022. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh semua siswa kelas IV SDN Leuwihieum sebanyak 5 orang. Langkah-langkah yang dilakukan yakni: 1) menentukan pertanyaan yang mendasar, 2) Melakukan desain rencana proyek, 3) membuat jadwal, 4) Melakukan kegiatan monitor siswa dan tingkat kemajuan proyek, 5) melakukan uji hasil, 6) melaksanakan evaluasi pengalaman. Penilaian dilakukan terhadap hasil belajar IPS dan IPA, keaktifan siswa, dan produk dari proyek yang dikerjakan siswa. Nilai hasil belajar IPS meningkat dari 77.5 menjadi 81.4, sedangkan nilai IPA meningkat dari 86.0 menjadi 88.8. Nilai rata-rata keaktifan siswa pada pertemua pertama sebesar 87.5 naik menjadi 88.0 pada pertemuan kedua. Adapun nilai rata-rata produk hasil proyek siswa pada pertemuan 1 sebesar 86.3 meningkat pada pertemuan 2 sebesar 89.8. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan siswa kelas IV SDN Leuwihieum dalam mengerjakan soal bertipe HOTS, terutama pada bidang IPS dan IPA. Tidak hanya itu, pembelajaran berbasis proyek juga dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dan keterampilan dalam menghasilkan produk atau artefak.
