Abstract

Disorders of bone density becomes a major public health problem, especially in women pre elderly. Besides due to low intake of essential nutrients for bone, also because of declining estrogen due to menopause. Low bone density can lead to osteoporosis and impact on risk of bone fracture. Fortified milk is one of strategy to provide the intake of calcium and vitamin D daily. In addition, osteoporosis gymnastics also plays a role to increase the absorption of calcium in the small intestine. The aim of this study was to analyzed the effect of fortified milk (calcium and vitamin D) and osteoporosis gymnastics on bone density in women pre elderly in the working area of health center Banyuanyar Sampang. Research design used Non equivalent Control Group Design. Samples were 45 pre elderly womens (age 50-59 years) which is composed of 15 people (treatment group I) in the form of gymnastics osteoporosis, 15 (treatment group II) in the form of osteoporosis gymnastics and fortified milk, and 15 people in the control group. Statistical test using paired T-test, Wilcoxon and Kolmogorov Smirnov. There was the influence of fortified milk (calcium and vitamin D) and osteoporosis gymnastics on bone density (p = 0.037). While in the first treatment group (p = 0.217) and showed no effect on controls groups (p = 0.157). There was the influence of fortified milk (calcium and vitamin D) and osteoporosis gymnastics on bone density. Some respondents have improvement or increase of T-score.

Abstract

Diabetes is a disease characterized by increasing blood sugar. People with diabetes continue to increasing number each year, so it needs better prevention of diabetes. Chromium is a cofactor in improving insulin action in the transfer of glucose into cells. In addition to chromium, vitamin C and vitamin E also plays a role in the prevention of diabetes, which is an antioxidant that can capture free radicals and prevent a chain reaction result in no cell damage. The aim o thi study was to analyzed the effect of chromium, vitamin C, and vitamin E on blood sugar rats that induced by alloxan. This research is an experimental laboratory. Sample were 20 male Wistar rats during 6 weeks. The independent variables consist of 5 treatment groups namely normal diet; normal diet + 1 g / day chromium; normal diet + 2 mg / day of vitamin C; the normal diet + 0.5 mg / day of vitamin ; a normal diet + 1 g / day chromium + 2 mg / day of vitamin C + 0.5 mg / day of vitamin E. The dependent variable is blood sugar levels. To know the differences of each treatment used statistical tests One Way ANOVA, followed by Tukey HSD Post Hoc test with p <0.05. There were significant differences in blood glucose (p = 0.000) between the control group and group 1, 2, 4, but between control group and  groups 3 showed no significant difference in blood glucose (p = 0.718). Chromium, vitamin C, and a mixture of chromium, vitamin C, vitamin E showed an effect on blood sugar, while vitamin E alone had no effect on blood sugar.

Abstract

The epidemiology of Tuberculosis (TB) showed that TB is a disease which is associated with malnutrition. Malnutrition and lacking of certain essential nutrients required by immune system might cause immune function deficiency resulting higher susceptibility to bacterial and viral infections. There is positive correlation between immune system and high nutrient contents, such as Vitamin C, zinc, and antioxidants that brings good effect on infections, including Tuberculosis. One of the efforts conducted to help promoting improving albumin level on pulmonary tuberculosis patients is through zinc and sulphate provision followed by Omega-3 supplementation. This study was conducted in 2015 aimed to analyze the role of Zinc Sulphate Omega-3 provision in improving albumin level on pulmonary tuberculosis patients in Paru Hospital, Surabaya. This study applied randomized study design using Pre-test and Post-test Control group design on patients suffering pulmonary tuberculosis. This study was conducted by administering Zinc Sulphate and Omega-3 on treatment group and placebo on the control group. The samples of this study consisted of 20 pulmonary tuberculosis patients divided into two groups: treatment group and control group. Each group consisted of 10 patients. Statistical analysis was conducted using paired T-test and independent t-test. The results is There were significant differences in albumin level (p = 0.001) in the treatment group before and after supplementation Zinc Sulphate And Omega 3. While in the control group between before and after supplementation Zinc Sulphate And Omega 3 showed no significant differences in body weight (p = 0.224). The conclusions is Zinc Sulphate and Omega 3 plays a role in increasing albumin level respondents. There are significant differences on albumin level before and after supplementation Zinc Sulphate And Omega 3.

The result of research shows that there is no correlation between obesity with a pattern of the activity of playing on children aged 9 to 12 years. Because the value of a correlation coefficient (0.053 > 0.025). It is also avidenced by the result of a coefficient that marked negative and having meaning the absence of correlation ( - 0.209 ). Of the result we can conclude that there are a lot of the main factor in addition to the activity of playing that can cause a child suffering from obesity including genetic factor, and the pattern of hormonal feeding on such a child.
