Abstract

Spermatophyta is a seed plant with a very high diversity and is easily found in the surrounding environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the composition of Spermatophyta in the biological greenhouse of the Univet Bantara Sukoharjo. Research This research is exploratory description research with the cruising method (survey). The research was conducted in the biology greenhouse of the Univet Bantara Sukoharjo campus which has an area of about 350 m2. The research procedure consisted of several stages, namely the preparation of tools and materials, observation and documentation of Spermatophyta in the greenhouse, recording of plant characteristics, identification and determination of plants, and data analysis. determination result. The plants data collected were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results showed that the composition of Spermatophyta in the biological greenhouse was 58 species and all of them were angiosperms group which included dicotyledonous and monocotyledonous plants. The number of families found was 40 families. These results indicate that the biological greenhouse is not dominated by a few families but many families that live in the area. Families with more than one species are the Araceae family (talas taro tribe) with 6 species, the Euphorbiaceae family with 4 species, Papilionaceae and Asparagaceae each with 3 species, Mimosaceae, Amaranthaceae, Myrtaceae, Rutaceae, Oxalidaceae, and Orchidaceae were found 2 species. The diversity in the composition of spermatophytes in terms of their families is quite diverse, but the number of species from each family is not large enough so that further development is needed to enrich the diversity of Spermatophyta compositions in the biological greenhouse.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the needs of students in MTs Negeri 2 Ngawi, especially Class VII, for PBL-based science learning modules to improve HOTS. This development research method is R&D (Research and Development), which is adapted from the development of a 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate). However, this research is limited to the Define stage, which is carried out by analyzing learning procedures. The subjects of this study were MTsN 2 Ngawi science teachers and class VII students who had studied temperature and heat material. Based on the questionnaire from students, it can be concluded that 90% of students believe in the need to develop teaching materials. While the questionnaire given to teachers found the result that learning in the classroom seemed to be monotonous so that it did not support the ability of students to think at a high level, it was necessary to have teaching materials or modules as support because the books provided by the government were inadequate. In conclusion from the results of the questionnaire of students and teachers, as well as the cognitive learning outcomes of students, it is necessary to develop modules related to Temperature and Heat. The development of problem-based learning modules (PBL) is a method for teachers to improve the learning process of students, especially in terms of fostering higher-order thinking skills (HOTS).

Abstract

The characterization of salt levels in fruits with simple techniques still has several challenges to determine. Herein, we successfully present a simple breakthrough to resolve of purity or concentration of a substance by the principle of refraction index with a refractometer. The resulting experiments by mango fruit extracts showed refractive index is produced in NaCl solution at a concentration of 0.1 M; 0.2M; 0.5M; 1 M; 2 M by 1004; 1009; 1016.3; 1017.3; 1058, respectively. More importantly, the highest refractive index produced in mango fruit extract is owned by Manalagi mango with a refractive index of 1047.3, followed by Arum Manis mango with 1041, Banjarnegara mango with 1030, Gadung mango with 1023.3, and Raw mango with 1015,3. Thus, the higher the concentration of the solution would the greater the refractive index produced due to refractive index is inversely proportional to the speed of light in the solution. Therefore, this is a simple technique that can be used to determine salt levels in fruits and allow to select healthy fruit for intake by our body.
