Abstract

CV Menoreh Politan is one of sugar coconut companies in Kalibuko, Kokap, Kulon Progo Regency Yogyakarta. Some of its coconut sugar products are sent to various regions in Indonesia, and some others are occasionally exported. The company, however, had encountered some constraints both in supply and product fulfillment. This research was,  therefore, aimed at studying the efficiency of performance at CV Menoreh Politan. The input variables used were order fulfillment cycle, supply chain flexibility, total supply chain cost, cash to cash cycle time, and daily inventory, while input variables for output of supply chain performance were delivery performance, order fulfillment, and conformity with standard. The efficiency of coconut sugar supply chain performance is analyzed by Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method with constant return to scale (CRS) assumption.  Analysis of farmer efficiency by using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) resulted in farmer efficiency level. CV Menoreh Politan has operated efficiently with its 14 partners (24.14 percent), while the remaining 44 farmers of CV Menoreh Politan (75.86 percent) have not reached the maximum efficiency level. The inefficiency of farmers was largely due to the cost of supply chains and long-term enterprise turnover. Overall, the collectors have been fully operational. Similarly, the company has been technically efficient, meaning that in terms of input and output, it has been good.

Abstract

The numbers of Lampung residents with average monthly expenditure per capita below the poverty line are still quite large (14.86%). Most of the poor are in the district (76.26%) and are rural communities dependent on the agricultural sector for their livelihoods. Rural agricultural communities face complex problems including: the limitations of land access, capital, technology, markets, and institutions. This project, conducted in 2014, was a series of research collaboration of universities (PEKERTI) between State Polytechnic of Lampung  (Polinela) as Research Team Proposer (TPP) with University of Lampung (Unila) as Research Partner Team (TPM). Method of depth analysis about Lampung rural agriculture society condition during 10 years and cross tabulation were conducted based on Lampung Input Output Table 2010. The secondary data were obtained from Provincial BPS (Lampung Statistic Office) and some other related technical agencies. The results of the discussion showed that the portrait of Lampung agriculture is dominated by rural farming which faces very complex problems. The complexity of the problems within agricultural society is a resultant of the limitations faced by farmers in accessing capital, land, technology and institutional resources. This condition boils down to structural poverty. The key to the work of sustainable rural agricultural development policy is the occurrence of synergy in overcoming obstacles which include: local agro-climatic conditions, site-specific technologies, availability of biomass, economic incentives, product markets, information access, land tenure, institutional, extension, and political constraints.

Abstract

Soybean is the main source of vegetable protein and vegetable oil consumed widely by the people of Indonesia. Soybean as one of the legumes plants becomes the basic ingredients of many foods such as ketchup, tofu, and tempeh. The high consumption of soybean products makes the Indonesian people highly dependent on soybeans. Therefore, it is essential to carry out a research about farming analysis and marketing channel of local soybeans which has been cultivated by farmers in North Raman District. This is because the marketing of soybean crops will determine the income that will be obtained by farmers later. This study aims to determine the income, financial feasibility, and marketing channels of soybeans in North Raman District East Lampung regency. The information of the study is important as it provides a clear description of local soybean marketing in Lampung that can be useful for soybean self-sufficiency program. This study used primary and secondary data. Primary data is data obtained collected directly from the field by sampling while secondary data is data obtained from provincial and central BPS (statistic agency) offices, and related institutions. Data analysis is done by tabulating the data, calculating the income and financial feasibility, and describing marketing channel of Anjasmoro soybean variety. Cultivation of Anjasmoro soybean in North Raman Subdistrict, both through breeding or not breeding, turns out to be profitable and financially feasible to undertake. There are 3 marketing channels that are commonly used by the respondent farmers. They are channel 1, 2, and 3. Channel 1 is the channel with the flow from farmers to village-level collectors who have contracts, licensed distributors or farmers to village-level collectors who have contracts, tofu/tempeh producers; Channel 2 is the one with the flow from the farmers directly selling to the producer of tofu/tempeh; and channel 3 is the one with the flow from farmers to village collecting trader, then to retailer, then to producers of tofu/tempeh.Keywords: Anjasmoro Soybean, Income, Marketing Channels

Abstract

This research was to analyze the risk of production of paddy rice farming which received the Tertiary Irrigation (TI) optimization policy as compared to that without the Tertiary Irrigation (TI) optimization policy. This research was conducted in the village of Tulusrejo Pekalongan District of East Lampung regency. This research employed simple random sampling to collect the sample. The sample totaled 41 farmers consisting of 27 farmers who received the JIT optimization policy and 14 farmers who did not get the policy. This research was conducted from December 2016 to January 2017. Coefficient of Variation (CV) and t-test analysis were used to figure out the answer. The results showed that the risk of paddy rice production of farming which received the Tertiary Irrigation (TI) optimization policy is smaller than that which did not get the policy, although statistically it was not significantly different.Keywords: irrigation, paddy rice, the risk of production.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the decision making process of purchasing hydroponic vegetables. This research conducted in Bandar Lampung City. The study was conducted on 42 consumers of hydroponic vegetables and 42 non-hydroponic consumers. This research requires a qualitative method approach. Analysis of the stages of consumer purchasing decision-making process used to determine consumer behavior in making purchases of hydroponic and non hydroponic vegetables. Stages in the process of making consumer purchasing decisions in choosing commodities include the introduction of needs, information search, alternative evaluation, purchasing decisions, and post-purchase evaluation.Keywords: Decission Making, Hydroponic, Vegetable

Abstract

Palm sugar is one of the important commodities that are able to sustain the economy of rural community. The community of central palm sugar is usually constrained by market information that affects the welfare of sugar palm producers. The purposes of this research are to observe marketing channels and marketing performance efficiency and to analyze factors influencing producers to choose marketing channel of palm sugar in Bengkulu Province. The result of this research shows there are 5 marketing channels of palm sugar in Bengkulu Province. Measurement of marketing performance efficiency by using margin analysis indicator, farmer's share and r/c ratio, found that efficient channel model with the indicator is channel 4 (Producers-Big Collector in the village-Consumer Outside of the province) and channel 5 (Producers - Big Collector in the village - Retailer local - Local consumers). Factors influencing craftsmen choosing marketing channels were analyzed by using binary logistic regression and it was found that factor of production quantity, sugar price and existence of debt bondage significantly influence producers in choosing marketing channel.Keywords: palm sugar, marketing efficiency, marketing chooice, binary logistic

Abstract

The cultivation and processing of chicken probio (broiler) in LampungProvince was initiated by Kelompok Peternak Ayam (KPA) Berkat Usaha Bersama (BUB) in Metro City. KPA BUB was established on March 22, 2008 with members of 30 farmers. KPA BUB acts as a facilitator for its members. This study aims to analyze the Probio Chicken Marketing Strategy (Broiler) in Kelompok Peternak Ayam (KPA) Berkat Usaha Bersama (BUB) Metro City. The problem to be analyzed is how the marketing strategy is implemented by Chicken Breeder Group (KPA) Berkat Usaha Bersama (BUB) Metro City. The method used in this research was non probability sampling, that is snowball sampling technique with population of 30 probio chicken breeders. The number of sample were 25 respondents consisting of 20 farmers and 5 practitioners. Analysis tool used in this research was a descriptive analysis using SWOT analysis technique. Primary and secondary data were used. The results of this study showed that the SWOT matrix obtained coordinates (0.32, 0.37), i.e. the Strengh-Opporturnities (SO) strategy, in which the coordinates were entered in Quadrant I. Strategies that can be used are 1) Developing probio chicken products and good service to consumers by seeing the growing market growth would increase the number of probio chicken production; 2) Good service to consumers, the quality of products, and the sales cycle increased with the increasing pattern of consumer behavior that would develop the needs of the society of probio chicken consumption, 3) The strength of business and good management by utilizing a strategic plant location for promotion / advertising would increase the amount of production so the community needs for chicken probio can be met.Keywords: marketing strategy, probio chicken (broiler).

Abstract

Poor harvest and post harvest handling can reduce corn production in terms of quantity and quality. Therefore, this paper aims to know the potential loss of maize crops and post-harvest through the habits of farming cultivation in South Lampung, especially during the activities of harvesting, shelling, drying and storing. The results of the study showed that corn farmers understand the importance of harvest and post harvest handling in producing quality corn production. However, not all farmers put their understanding into practice even if the technology for harvesting and post-harvest activities have been invented and implemented by the ministry of agriculture. In order to increase the income of corn farmers, the socialization and demonstration of the use of the tools or technology specific to harvest and post harvest location needs to be enhanced.Keywords: loss, harvest, post harvest and corn

Abstract

ABSTRACT The business carried out by livestock groups on the SPR is currently very limited. Livestock groups need strategies to develop their livestock groups with SPR. Strategy requires mapping activities to be done to realize the goals SPR wants to achieve with livestock groups. Mapping livestock business groups mapped using a canvas business model. The business model of the canvas has 9 elements that must be filled in accordance with the current conditions owned by the cattle group with the SPR. The mapping of the development effort to be carried out is also poured into the canvas business model to see what a group needs in its development. Based on the mapping results there are several products, activities and additional resources that must be owned by livestock groups with SPR. Abstract

Produksi padi organik di Indonesia semakin meningkat karena adanya kecenderungan konsumen yang mulai mengkonsumsi makanan sehat dan salah satunya adalah beras organik.  Jenis varietas yang dibudidayakan petani yaitu mentik susu dan sintanur yang didasarkan pada jumlah hasil panen yang tinggi dan kecocokan dengan iklim. Kualitas beras organik dapat diketahui melalui pendekatan kandungan gizi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis kandungan gizi beras organik varietas Mentik Susu dan Sintanur.Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian laboratorium. Metode analisis data yang digunakan untuk menjawab tujuan berupa uji proksimat untuk mengetahui kandungan gizi beras organik pada kedua varietas Mentik Susu dan Sintanur. Kandungan gizi yang dujikan kandungan gizi utama  bahan pangan yaitu karbohidrat, lemak, protein, air, serat, dan kadar abu.Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kandungan karbohidrat, protein, dan serat  gizi beras organik varietas Mentik Susu lebih tinggi dibandingkan varietas Sintanur.  Sementara kandungan lemak, kadar air, dan kadar abu beras organik varietas Mentik Susu lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan varietas Sintanur. Secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa beras organik varietas Mentik Susu lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan varietas Sintanur. Kata Kunci   : Beras Organik, Kandungan Gizi, Mentik Susu, Sintanur.
