Abstract

Conventional banks are vulnerable to non-performing loans, because the credit is the main source income of a bank. Credit risk may still occur, even though the bank's management has made efforts based credit rating 5C. The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence the variable CAR, LAR, NIM, and ROE against Non-Performing Loans (NPL) in the banking companies listed on BEI. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with criteria: (1) a conventional commercial bank listed on the BEI 2009-2013 period, (2) the bank that issued the annual financial statements in a row in the period from 2009 to 2013, and (3) bank which has a data completeness NPL, CAR, LAR, NIM, and ROE in the period 2009-2013. Data obtained from the annual report of each bank in 2009-2013. There are a total sample of 29 banks. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression and hypothesis testing using t-statistic to test the partial regression coefficient and F-statistic to test the effect simultaneously with a significance level of 0.05. Before being tested by multiple linear regression, first performed classical assumption of normality test data. The results showed that there were no deviations from the classical assumption test. This indicates that the available data is normal or eligible to be used as a multiple linear regression model. From the analysis, CAR and ROE have significant negative effect on the NPL and LAR have not significant negative effect on the NPL, while variable NIM have significant positive effect on the NPL.

Abstract

Organizations have long been interested in how employees think and feel his work and what causes employees are willing to dedicate themselves to the organization. The researchers found a variable motivational leadership style that leads to the formation of positive attitudes of the officials who in turn can improve employee job performance. The objective of this research are to study the effect integrative leadership on  organizational justice, employee engagement, and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), with teachers at SMA/SMK/MAN/MAS di kota Madiun as respondents. This research used the quantitative approach with the survey method. The samples of this research were 409 teachers, selected non-randomly. The data were obtained by distributing questionnaires and analyzed by using the descriptive statistics and path analysis in inferential statistics. The results of the research can be concluded that: integrative leadership has a positive significant effect on organizational justice; integrative leadership significant positive effect on employee engagement; integrative leadership significant positive effect on employee engagement on OCB.

Abstract

This research discusses the impact of JIT (Just In Time) and TQM (Total Quality Management) application to Delivery Performance. Either JIT or TQM is two concept in management science specially operation management, but in fact that exist in Indonesian companies most of them have not yet applied these concept properly. Many of Indonesian companies applied latest management concept just to keep up with the trend. Unfortunately these concepts might have not been suitable if it applied directly for Indonesian circumstances. This research was conducted in automotive industry, this election is based on history that at the first JIT and TQM born in automotive industry so unquestionable the application of these concepts in this industry is better than other kind of industry. In other hand delivery performance is focus on excellent timing and excellent quality of product produced. Theoretically, JIT application is inseparable form TQM application or vice versa, it one of them applied without application if the other, the result will not be an optimum one. But it is important to remember that large number of existing theories nowadays, was develop in Europe, America and the nearest Japan. There is large number of differences, even the fundamental one in social and culture, it effect to thinking pattern, and working spirit. Indonesia has different culture to Europe, America and Japan. Frequently the application of JIT and also TQM are fail to give significant improvement to company’s performance. It issues some emerging questions: Do JIT and TQM have influence to performance specially delivery performance? Do JIT have influence to performance specially delivery performance? Do TQM have influence to performance specially delivery performance? This research will answer the emerging questions. Following data collection and data processing, the result conclusion will be: JIT and TQM have significant linear influence to delivery performance. In partial, JIT does not give significant linear influence to delivery performance, whereas TQM gives significant linear influence to delivery performance.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of conflict of interest to the level of IPO price determined by managers. This experiment divides treatment group (the group of participants who have economic benefit from their decision making), and control group (groups with no economic benefit from their decision making). In experiment scenario for treatment group, the managements of IPO companies tend to decrease the price of IPO in order to get financial benefit. Using experimental design, this research shows that participants in treatment group determine lower IPO price than control group. This evidence confirms IPO phenomenon around the world. This research also makes supplementary analysis. The results show that alternative statistical test using GPA and gender of participants as control variable are not statistically significant. It means that the level of IPO price isn’t determined by GPA and Gender, but conflict of interest.

Abstract

This research investigates the influence of corporate governance toward corporate responsibility disclosure. This research using the proxy of women representation on board, existence of foreign nationalities on board, size of board of independent commissioner as the variable of corporate governance and size, ROE, DER as control variable. The corporate social responsibility disclosure include details of the environment, energy, employee health and safety, employee other, products, community involvement, and general. The sample of this research was extracted with purposive sampling method. The population is the companies listed at Indonesia Stock Exchange. The technique for examining hypothesis is multiple regression analysis. The results indicate that woman on board and DER have a negative non significant effect to corporate social responsibility disclosure. Existence of foreign nationalities on board, size of board of commissioner, size and ROE have a positive significant effect to corporate social responsibility disclosure.

Abstract

Telecommunication industry in Indonesia is growing rapidly in the last two decades. Prepaid services remain dominant (above 90%), in which 95% are distributed electronically. The condition attracts many players to participate in the business and eventually increasing the competitive tension among them. Based on market orientation perspective, we investigate whether responsiveness toward competitors deliver higher performance for electronic server company? Moreover, this study address under which conditions that the relationship is strengthened or weakened? By distributing questionnaires among all electronic server companies in Surabaya, we reported that responsiveness toward competitors positively contribute to companies’ performance. The relationship strengthened when the slack resources was low than high, while there was no moderating effect of competitive tension. Managerial and academic implications are further discussed.

Abstract

Some researches of education elements have been greatly worked out in the educational institutions, yet the researches have been rarely conducted in Indonesian Military Training Institutions. This research is aimed to prove that there is a positive influence of the Indonesian Naval Academy training process on the junior officer’s field leadership ability as the Indonesian Naval Academy graduates. And this research is particularly to prove that the performance of junior officers as resulted from Indonesian Naval Academy training is capable of being an intervening variable between the training and the ability of field leadership. The populations of this research are junior officers graduated from Indonesian Naval Academy in 2009, 2010 and 2011 serving in eastern fleet and 1st Marine Division. The method of sampling is a proportional simple random sampling by 132 samples. The complexity of interrelation occurred   between variables make variant of Partial Least Square based Structural Equation Modeling as a mean to prove a proposed hypotesa. The eventual conclusions are that educational variable in Indonesian Naval Academy has positive and significant influences on junior officer’s performances; performance variable has positive and significant influences on the ability of field leadership; educational variable has positive and significant influences on the ability of field leadership; field performance as previously played a role as intervening variable (between) has changed the role to be a moderating variable (amplifying), and the ability of junior officer’s field leadership in the workplace will be better if it is achieved from indirect interrelation between educational variable in Indonesian Naval Academy and the ability of junior officer’s field leadership with moderating performance variable in the workplace.

Abstract

Environmental issues are social dilemmas. In a social dilemma, the individual is faced with the choice to put his personal interests, or cooperate with other individuals by prioritising the common interest. Researcher look at environmental problems has two interrelated issues, namely the issue of environmental justice and sustainable consumption issues. This research will investigate individual’s perceived justice on willingness to cooperate in social dilemma situation. Willingness to cooperate is representing sustainable consumption in social dilemma’s term. This study used experimental method. The results of this studies were as follows. Individual’s perceived justice is determined the willingness to cooperate. Over consumption behavior seemed create unfairness to individuals. Participants were prefer equity rules of fairness than equality rule of fairness to distribute resources among them. The awareness of social dilemma is having a role as a partial mediation that mediate the influence of perceived justice to willingness to cooperate. The awareness of social dilemma altered the preference of fairness from equity to equality.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ownership structure and corporate board structure. This study use two-tiers board system and use secondary data from non-financial firm which fulfill the requirement and listing in Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2010-2013. The analysis technique used a quantitative method with multiple linear regression. The object of research used in this research are non financial companies listed on the Stock Exchange in 2010 to 2013 the number of samples obtained some 191 samples. The results obtained are foreign ownership and managerial ownership negative significant with board size. And managerial dan government ownership negative significant with independent commissioners but foreign ownership has positive significant. The results emphasize that different ownership has behavior and preferences for corporate governance practices especially board structures.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is assessing conservation strategy of Yogyakarta local culture to muffle attacking globalization of cultural economic and cultural industry. We do looking for effectual strategy to develop cultural tourism based on creativity sense. We first identify important factors that confound the physic and entity culture using factor and cluster analysis. Following this, we apply expert choice to enact the strategy. We conclude that important factors for the conservation of culture are introducing the Javanese eco-culture to society early on, revitalizing the ritual tradition and conserving the traditional dance and music. In addition, we propose the policy brief in order to become the important reference of cultural tourism development. The important policies are giving cognitive, affective and conative education to people, and reanimating traditional jackstraws.
