The purpose of this research is to create guided inquiry based powerpoint interactivelearning media on basic chemistry law and determine the level of validity and practicalityas a media to learn chemistry. Type of this research is the Research and Development(R&D). The development model used in this research is 4-D development model whichconsist of define, design, develop and disseminate but this research is limited to thedevelop stage. The research instrument is questionnaire of validity and practicality sheet.Guided inquiry based powerpoint interactive learning media on basic chemistry lawvalidated by 5 validators and then the practicality was done by 2 teachers and 24 studentsof class XII IPA SMAN 8 Padang of academic year 2018/2019. Data from the validity andpracticality test result were analyzed using the Kappa Cohen formula. Based on the resultof the research found the moment kappa of validity was 0,79 with high validity category.The practicality level of teacher response questionnaires was obtained with a value of 0,82with a very high category and 0,85 from the responses of students with very highpracticality categories. Based on the result of the research it can be concluded that theguided inquiry based powerpoint interactive learning media on the basic chemistry lawproduced is valid and practical used in chemistry learning.Keyword: Powerpoint Media, Guided Inquiry, Basic Chemistry Law.
