Abstract

The aims of this research were to determine the concentration of mercury, and knowing the water quality in aquaculture area of Manalu Bay Sangihe Islands Regency. The method used in determine the research station is purposive sampling method or deliberate sampling with consideration that station 1 is near the gold mine, station 2 is the area aquaculture activities and station 3 is far from the gold mean and aquaculture activities. The data used in this research were sourced from primary data (sea water sampling used a sampling technique for Hg testing and direct measurement of water quality parameter) and secondary data (journals, books and other supporting documents that support research). The result detected the concentration of Hg content at station 1, 2 and 3 were <0,0003 mg/l below the sea water quality standards for marine biota (0,001). The parameter quality data of the water are temperature ranged between 31-32 0C, pH 6,8-7,1 and salinity 32-34 ppt. In general, the presence of chemical physics parameters in Manalu Bay was good condition and suitable for aquaculture after being compared with Kep. MENLH No. 51/2014, Attachment III concerning Sea Water Quality Standards for Marine Biota.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the development of aquaculture and determine aquaculture development strategies that are in accordance with the conditions and potential of the East Ratahan District, Southeast Minahasa Regency. The methodology used was descriptive research method. The research variables observed were the potential and quality of water, land area, and information about the prospects for developing aquaculture. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of the aquaculture development analysis using a SWOT analysis showed that the internal factors that influence the development of fish farming in East Ratahan consist of strength factors, namely: district government support, business location and water quality and number of fish culturists. Weakness factors were: Availability of Seeds Inadequate availability of seeds and lack of skilled culturists and lack of working capital. External factors that influenced the development of fish culturists in East Ratahan consist of opportunity factors, namely: high selling value of fish, high market share, and government policies. Threat factors were climate and holticultural crops and illegal fishing. Strategic steps for the development of fish farming businesses in East Ratahan, namely increasing the production capacity of fish aquaculture, improving and maintaining the quality of fish culture products, making agreements between fish culturists in maintaining the safety of aquaculture ponds, optimizing Fish Hatchery Centers, providing skills to fish culturists.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine feasibility ility on eel fish (Anguilla spp.) culture locations in Tondano Lake, North Sulawesi Province in terms of water quality, both physical and chemical parameters of the waters. Determination of the sampling point is placed at three predetermined points, station I located at Eris Village, Station 2 located at Paleloan Village and Station 3 located at Paslaten Village. The results showed that the waters of Lake Tondano have three classes of suitability for the location of eel (Anguilla spp.) culture, that is very suitable (S1), suitable (S2), and not suitable. Station I of Eris Village included in the suitable class (S2), Station II at Paleloan Village is included in the very appropriate very suitable class (S1), while Station III at Paslaten Village included in the class that is not suitable to be used as a location for eel culture in terms of water quality

Abstract

The aim of this study was to monitor the condition of water quality in the aquaculture area of fix net cage culture system (KJT) at Lake Tondano, Eris Village, Eris District, Minahasa Regency which included temperature, pH, DO, TDS, Turbidity, NO2, NH3, PO4  and sediment (N, Nitrogen and P, Phosphorus) in  a different time. This research was conducted from March to May 2021 using a survey method. The research activities consisted of direct measurements in the field (in situ) using a Horiba U-5000G instrument and laboratory analysis (ex situ) at the BTKLPP Class 1 Laboratory and the BARISTAND Laboratory in Manado for primary data. Primary data was carried out at 3 points, Point 1 represented around residential activities, Point 2 where the areas of cultivation activities, and Point 3 where outside of cultivation and settlement activities. Primary data was compared with secondary data i.e, publish articles and then processed in the STORET method. Data were evaluated to the water quality parameters standard according to the Indonesian Government Regulation number 22 of 2021. The results showed that the water temperature ranged between 26.3 - 28.07 0C, Turbidity (10.5 - 24.4 NTU), TDS (0.167 - 0.172 g/L), pH (3.79 - 7.84), DO (1.87 - 9.05 mg/L), NH3 (0.12 - 0.26 mg/L) , NO2 (0.001 - 0.064 mg/L), PO4 (0.2 mg/L - 1.67 mg/L). In the sediment samples, N was found in the  ranged of 0.20% - 0.26% and  P (0.48% - 2.69%). It can be concluded, the condition of water quality in the aquaculture area using KJT in Eris Village is categorized as class C (medium polluted) and N in the sediment criteria is moderate and the content of P in the sediment criteria is very low.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to measure several physical and chemical parameters of Mooat Lake waters and to assess the feasibility of water quality in Mooat Lake waters to support aquaculture.Primary data were obtained from direct sample measurements in the field (in situ) and laboratory analysis. In situ sample measurement data consisted of temperature, degree of acidity (pH), dissolved oxygen (DO), and turbidity. Sampling of water at all research stations used a modified bottle that was labeled accordingly as a water sample holder. After the water sample is taken in the field, stored in a cooler, then taken to the Laboratory of Environmental Health Engineering and Disease Control (BTKLPP) class 1 Manado and the Manado BARISTAND Laboratory for examination of levels of Nitrite (NO2), Nitrate (NO3), Ammonia (NH3) , and Phosphate (PO4). Based on research data of several water quality parameters measurements and analysis show that temperature (26,17oC), Turbidity (11,20 NTU), pH (5,6), DO (8,31), nitrite (0,04005 mg/l), nitrate (0,705 mg/l), ammonia (0,145 mg/l), and phosphate (1,005 mg/l). These results show that the waters of Mooat Lake is still feasible and meets the water quality standard values to support aquaculture activities. Furthermore, it is strengthened by the analysis of the suitability of the location for the development of aquaculture which shows that the water quality conditions of Mooat Lake are classified as suitable.
