Abstract

Hypertension is still a health problem in the elderly group. As a result of rapid development and a prosperous standard of living, health services can increase life expectancy, so that the number of elderly people increases every year. the increase in age is often followed by an increase in degenerative diseases and other health problems in this group. The general objective of this study was to determine the effect of health education regarding elderly hypertension on the knowledge of the elderly living in the orphanage. This research is a research with a Quasi-experimental approach through the design (Pre-Post Test) One Group Design. The population in this study were all elderly who live in the orphanage. The sample of this study was 57 elderly suffering from hypertension who were taken by total sampling. The results of the research of respondents in this study were there were differences in the effect of health education regarding hypertension on knowledge of the elderly. It is suggested for nursing home nurses to continue with structured health education so that elderly people with hypertension can be treated early.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is one of the diseases that cause high morbidity. The use of modern hypertension medical treatment may cause a side effect, so cucumber as one of traditional medicines may become a choice.Objective: This study aims to see the effect of cucumber (Cucumis sativus) juice on lowering blood pressure in elderly at working area of Puskesmas (public health center) of Abeli, Kendari, 2015.Methods: This was a pre-experiment study with one group pretest-posttest design. Twenty elderly 60 years old were selected by simple random sampling.Results: The result showed that there was a significant effect of cucumber juice on lowering blood pressure in elderly people at working area of Puskesmas of Abele, with t test for systolic blood pressure showed that t count t table (7.0952.093) or P-value is 0.000 0.05; and t test for diastolic blood pressure showed that t count t table (6.1902,093) or P-value is 0.000 0.05.Conclusion: The significant effect of cucumber (Cucumis sativus) juice on lowering blood pressure in elderly suggested that health professional might need to have the cucumber to deal with hypertension. However, further study is needed to examine the effect.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is the second largest non-communicable diseases as hypertension. This study aims to determine the influence of diabetes mellitus exercise decrease blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus clients. This research is a Quasi-experiment. The population is all patients who visited the health center-Lepo Lepo period January to December 2015 amounted to 374 people and a sample of 12 people, the data obtained using questionnaires and tested using independent t-test. The results showed that the blood sugar levels prior to exercise healthy diabetes mellitus are 12 (100.0%) in the category rose, with average blood sugar levels client is 252 mg / dl. Then the blood sugar levels after doing gymnastics healthy diabetes mellitus most of which 7 (58.3%) in the category down, and 5 (41.7%) in the category rose, with the average blood sugar level, was 220.25 mg client / dl and there is a healthy exercise influence diabetes mellitus to decrease blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus clients with a value of p = 0.041. Suggestions in this study in order to increase the frequency of diabetes mellitus and healthy exercise examination routine blood sugar checks to clients in order to reduce blood sugar levels of diabetes mellitus alternative therapy.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis is an infectious disease that attacks the lung parenchyma, caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Somantri, 2009). In 2017 in Southeast Sulawesi, 2,587 new cases of BTA (+) were found. In 2016 in Kendari City Hospital, 229 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis were obtained, while in 2017 there were 286 cases (Medical Records and SIRS of Kendari City). Objective: Carry out nursing care for pulmonary tuberculosis patients in fulfilling oxygenation needs in the Lavender Room at the Kendari City Hospital. Methods: In this study, researchers used a descriptive study, namely a case study. Result: Nursing diagnosis, namely ineffective airway clearance associated with excessive mucus. After 3x24 hours of action, the results showed: the patient did not experience shortness of breath, breathing 20 times / minute, no additional breath sounds and the patient was able to cough effectively without the help of the nurse's instructions. Bottom Line: An effective cough action can help drain secretions and reduce chest pain.
