Abstract

Student diversity is one of the demographic advantages of education. One type of diversity is the registration in higher education students with special needs. For this purpose, teachers as educators are expected to be able to provide all students with adaptive teaching. Although the number of students with special needs is still a minority, educators still need to provide full education for them. Appropriate teaching can be achieved with the use of information technology, in particular the Internet. The use of the Internet as a support for classroom activities can be realized in a blended learning model. However, for each model to be used, an analysis study needs to be performed in order to have optimum results. The purpose of this study is to recognize needs and to obtain information on a blended learning model for deaf students in higher education. Needs analysis is carried out by means of a survey approach using a questionnaire provided to deaf students. The data were analyzed descriptively. The results have shown that deaf students meet the criteria for the development of a mixed learning model. Based on the study, it was concluded that the blended learning model can be applied to deaf students.

Abstract

Retention is the key to the success of a learning program. Several studies have shown that retention can be influenced by metacognitive skills, critical thinking, cognitive learning outcomes, and applied learning models. Meanwhile, testing the relationship between the three factors mentioned above and retention is only done using simple and multiple regression with two factors. This correlational study was conducted to determine the relationship between three factors, namely metacognitive skills, critical thinking, and cognitive learning outcomes on retention in students taught by RQA and QASEE learning models, as well as conventional learning. A total of 107 pre-service teachers of Biology Education students in South Sumatra, Indonesia, were involved in this study. The results showed a relationship between metacognitive skills, critical thinking, and cognitive learning outcomes with retention in students who were taught the RQA learning model. However, in the QASEE learning model and conventional learning, this relationship was not found. Thus, it can be concluded that more than two factors affect retention. Then, applying the appropriate learning model also influences the success of a learning program. Finally, conventional learning that only emphasizes efforts to get students to pass the exam must be abandoned immediately.

Abstract

With the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic, the learning process must continue with the implementation of an online learning system. This study aims to determine the views of special educator teachers who handle children with special needs during the online learning process. The purpose of this research is that it can be used as a reference or reading source for Special Assistance Teachers (GPK) and other educator activists in making policies when implementing online learning for children with special needs who attend inclusive schools. This research can be categorized as one of the interesting researches that is using descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Where this research was conducted by observing and understanding the problems that arise in the object of research using specific data collection techniques from respondents (GPK who accompanies ABK in inclusive schools during online learning during the pandemic) through questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that there are still learning effectiveness problems that arise due to the integration of conventional learning into online learning. Based on these problems, ABK, parents and also teachers who teach must continue to receive assistance and motivation so that they can adapt to learning that uses digital media.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sikap orang tua yang memiliki anak cerebral palsy. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak dua puluh dua orang tua dari anak cerebral palsy. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan angket yang diberikan kepada orang tua secara langsung dengan memperhatikan protokol kesehatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data berupa persentase dengan pengkategorian terbagi menjadi kategori sangat baik, kategori baik, kategori cukup baik, kategori kurang baik dan kategori sangat kurang baik.

Abstract

Corona virus is a virus transmitted by animals and humans that has been declared a world pandemic by WHO. Washing hands is the most common practice as a form of early prevention of transmission of the corona virus. Children with special needs are children who have abnormalities / deviations from the average condition of normal children, generally in terms of physical, mental and social behavior characteristics. The purpose of this study was to increase the knowledge and ability to wash hands in students with special needs. The activity was carried out on November 22, 2020. The method used in this study is lectures and discussions as well as the practice of washing hands through video conferencing accompanied by special delivery by a sign language interpreter. Participants in this activity totaled 14 Students with Special Needs. The results obtained were increased knowledge of students with special needs and the ability to practice washing hands properly.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to find out how the online learning experience of students with special needs in inclusive elementary schools in the covid-19 pandemic. This research is considered interesting because even though the whole world is being rocked by the covid-19 pandemic, education must continue to run well and each student still gets the learning experience that should be, including students with special needs. This research is a field research, with a qualitative approach and type of descriptive writing. For data collection, the authors use interview techniques and direct observation. The results of this study are students with special needs in inclusive elementary schools are given the opportunity to be able to understand the lessons, in a virtual classroom that is specifically provided by the teacher. Because some of the material provided by the teacher has not been modified according to the obstacles of the child. This is what makes children with special needs can try to learn through virtual classrooms google meet, obtain learning videos that can be accessed via youtube, to access material through google. Not only that, children with special needs can also operate the application whatsapp to communicate with teachers and classmates, both through chat and video calls. With this online learning, children with special needs get new experiences in utilizing technology, so that they can grow their confidence.  AbstrakProses pembelajaran bagi siswa berkebutuhan khusus harus tetap berjalan, walaupun di sebagian besar wilayah dunia tengah digemparkan dengan pandemi covid-19. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengalaman belajar daring siswa berkebutuhan khusus di SD inklusif pada masa pandemi covid-19. Penelitian ini dinilai menarik karena walaupun seluruh dunia tengah digemparkan dengan pandemi covid-19, pendidikan harus tetap berjalan dengan baik dan setiap siswa tetap mendapatkan pengalaman belajar yang seharusnya, termasuk siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan, dengan pendekatan kualitatif serta jenis penulisan deskriptif. Untuk pengumpulan data, penulis menggunakan teknik wawancara dan observasi langsung. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah siswa berkebutuhan khusus di sekolah dasar inklusif diberikan kesempatan untuk dapat memahami pelajaran, di dalam ruang kelas virtual yang disediakan khusus oleh guru. Karena beberapa materi yang diberikan guru belum dimodifikasi sesuai dengan hambatan anak. Hal inilah yang membuat anak berkebutuhan khusus dapat mencoba belajar melalui ruang kelas virtual google meet, memperoleh video pembelajaran yang dapat diakses melalui youtube, hingga mengakses materi melalui google. Tidak hanya itu, anak berkebutuhan khusus juga dapat mengoperasikan aplikasi whatsapp untuk berkomunikasi dengan guru maupun teman sekelasnya, baik melalui chatting maupun video call. Dengan adanya pembelajaran daring ini membuat anak berkebutuhan khusus mendapat pengalaman baru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi sehingga menumbuhkan kepercayaan diri mereka.

Abstract

Education is a basic right that every child in general must have without exception. Academic, social and emotional abilities can develop well through education. The curriculum used in Indonesia at the moment was the 2013 curriculum. One of the schools that carries out educational activities was the Extraordinary School (SLB). SLB was one of the place whom expected to develop the development of mentally retarded children. Through Special School, mentally retarded children got academic and non-academic education that suits their needs. One of the skills that must be taught is the ability to brush your teeth. Retarded students in the moderate category still find it difficult to brushed parts of teeth that were located inside such as right and left teeth and inner teeth. In addition to the position of the teeth, the frequency and time of tooth brushing was also a problem for the mentally retarded child. based on the activities that have been carried out, it appears that the ability of teachers to brush their teeth has improved, this is expected to help their students to brush their teeth properly.

Abstract

Salah satu sektor yang sangat terdampak akibat pandemic Covid-19 adalah pendidikan. Sistem pembelajaran daring yang terlalu lama menyebabkan banyak pelajar yang mengalami potensi learning loss. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan “Deteksi potensi learning loss pada siswa berkebutuhan khusus selama pembelajaran daring di masa pandemi Covid-19 di Sekolah Inklusif”. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Data yang diperoleh kemudian di olah transkripnya kemudian di kelompokkan. Hasil akhir didapat setelah dilakukan analisis dan interpretasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran daring yang diikuti oleh anak berkebutuhan khusus, berpotensi terjadinya learning loss. Sebagaimana telah terlihat deteksi learning loss pada anak berkebutuhan khusus yang ditandai dengan prestasi belajar anak yang menurun karena kurang minat belajar dirumah. Penuruan prestasi belajar anak berkebutuhan khusus, anak bersikap malas terlihat ketidak tepatan waktu dalam mengumpulkan tugas, adiksi internet, akses belajar yang tidak merata sehingga mengganggu psikologis dan psikososial anak.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused social change. Social changes that occur include the category of unplanned social change. Because of its unplanned nature, surely the community is not ready to face it. New normal form new habits, but not everyone is easy to adapt to new lifestyles. The impact of the heavy Covid-19 pandemic will be more felt by parents who have children with special needs. The social changes caused by Covid-19 Pandemic require mental resilience to deal with it. This study aims to determine the extent of family resilience of children with special needs in dealing with new normal. The method used in this study is mixed methods which is a research step that combines two forms of research, namely quantitative research and qualitative research. Data analysis in this study uses descriptive statistical analysis. The results of this study are the Covid-19 pandemic has a tremendous impact on all lines of life and has a dramatic effect on the welfare of many families and communities. In the current condition each family member who has a child with special needs has a role in strengthening the family's mental endurance and also plays a role in maintaining the integrity and welfare of the family. The first thing to do is managing emotions, managing stress, increasing life motivation, and building connections with family members. Abstrak Pandemi Covid-19 telah mengakibatkan perubahan sosial. Perubahan sosial yang terjadi saat ini termasuk kategori perubahan sosial yang tidak direncanakan. Karena sifatnya yang tidak direncanakan, pastilah masyarakat tidak siap menghadapinya. New normal membentuk kebiasaan baru, namun tidak semua orang mudah beradaptasi menghadapi gaya hidup baru. Dampak pandemi Covid-19 yang berat akan lebih dirasakan oleh orangtua yang memiliki anak berkebutuhan khusus. Perubahan sosial yang diakibatkan Pandemi Covid-19 ini memerlukan ketahanan mental untuk menghadapinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana ketahanan keluarga anak berkebutuhan khusus dalam menghadapi new normal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah mixed methods yakni suatu langkah penelitian yang menggabungkan dua bentuk penelitian yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dan penelitian kualitatif. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif. Adapun hasil penelitian ini adalah pandemi Covid-19 memberi dampak luar biasa di segala lini kehidupan dan memiliki efek dramatis pada kesejahteraan banyak keluarga dan masyarakat. Dalam kondisi saat ini setiap anggota keluarga yang memiliki anak berkebutuhan khusus mempunyai peran dalam memperkokoh ketahanan mental keluarga dan juga berperan dalam mempertahankan keutuhan dan kesejahteraan keluarga. Hal pertama yang harus dilakukan mengelola emosi, mengelola stres, meningkatkan motivasi hidup, dan membina komunikasi dengan anggota keluarga.
