Abstract

The purpose of this research is to overcome student’s misconception towards nervous system material through concept map. This research applies action research as the method which consists of four steps in namely: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of this research is class B of the 9th-grade students of SMPN 2 Legok Kabupaten Tangerang. The total of students is 34 students. This action research was held in October 2012. The results of research reveal that the application of concept map in nervous system learning material is able to overcome misconception problem of the students.  Cycle 1 reveals that the misconception reduced to as much as 36.5% and it increases in cycle 2 for as much as 40.6%.

Abstract

THE EFFECT OF SCIENTIFIC LITERACY AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS ON MASTERING BASIC BIOLOGICAL CONCEPTS AbstractThe efforts to develop scientific literacy and critical thinking skills are indispensable in addressing technological advances in the 4.0 era, even though the effort is still low. This research aims to determine the effect of scientific literacy on mastering basic concepts of biology, determine the effect of critical thinking skills on mastering basic concepts of biology, and determine the effect of scientific literacy and critical thinking skills together on mastering basic concepts of biology. The ex post facto method was used as a research method with a sample number of 182 students in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education of UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. Multiple regression techniques are used as data analysis.  The results showed a significant effect between scientific literacy on mastering basic concepts of biology, critical thinking skills on mastering basic concepts of biology, as well as scientific literacy and critical thinking skills together on mastering basic concepts of biology.  AbstrakUpaya pengembangan literasi sains dan keterampilan berpikir kritis sangat diperlukan dalam menyongsong kemajuan teknologi di era 4.0 meskipun upaya tersebut masih rendah. Tujuan riset ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh literasi sains terhadap penguasaan konsep dasar biologi, mengetahui pengaruh keterampilan berpikir kritis terhadap penguasaan konsep dasar biologi, dan mengetahui pengaruh literasi sains dan keterampilan berpikir kritis secara bersama-sama terhadap penguasaan konsep dasar biologi. Metode ex post facto dijadikan sebagai metode penelitian dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 182 mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. Analisa data menggunakan teknik regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan antara literasi sains dengan penguasaan konsep dasar biologi, keterampilan berpikir kritis dengan penguasaan konsep dasar biologi, serta literasi sains dan keterampilan berpikir kritis secara bersama-sama dengan penguasaan konsep dasar biologi.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan hakikat IPA, pembelajaran IPA, dan pendekatan saintifik dalam pem-belajaran IPA di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Metode penulisan artikel ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan didasarkan pada hasil pengamatan, pengalaman, dan kajian pustaka dari berbagai sumber informasi. Hakikat IPA meliputi empat unsur, yaitu produk, proses, apli-kasi dan sikap. Produk dapat berupa fakta, prinsip, teori, dan hukum. Proses merupakan prosedur pemecahan masalah melalui metode ilmi-ah; metode ilmiah meliputi pengamatan, penyusunan hipotesis, peran-cangan eksperimen, percobaan atau penyelidikan, pengujian hipotesis melalui eksperimentasi, evaluasi, pengukuran, dan penarikan kesim-pulan. Aplikasi merupakan penerapan metode atau kerja ilmiah dan konsep IPA dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Sikap merupakan rasa ingin tahu tentang obyek, fenomena alam, makhluk hidup, serta hubungan sebab akibat yang menimbulkan masalah baru yang dapat dipecahkan melalui prosedur yang benar. Pembelajaran IPA di SD/MI dipergunakan metode ilmiah dengan mengembangkan ketrampilan proses dasar untuk SD/MI kelas rendah dan ketrampilan proses terintegrasi untuk SD/MI kelas tinggi. Pendekatan saintifik dalam pembelajaran meliputi meng-amati, menanya, mengasosiasi, mencoba, dan membentuk jejaring/mengkomunikasikan.

Abstract

Students' inactivity in learning and teacher inaccuracies in using the model led to low science learning outcomes in elementary school. This investigation aims to analyze students' science learning outcomes through the SAVI model. Class Action Research from Kemmis and Mc. Taggart was used as a research method. Valid science learning test instruments and observation sheets of learning implementation are used as research instruments. The results of the investigation showed an increase in the results of science learning in grade 4 students in elementary school, this can be seen in the percentage of changes in the completion of their learning outcomes. This study provides recommendations for teachers to apply the SAVI model in the classroom learning so that students' science learning outcomes improve.

Abstract

This study aims to examine whether there is a relationship between the intensity of the use of Android media with the learning interest of students in Islamic Religious Education subjects. The study was conducted at State High School 3 Serang City, Banten Province. The research method uses correlational analysis. The study sample was taken as many as 40 (forty) students who are still actively learning in the current school year. Research data were collected through a validated questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation techniques through the help of the SPSS version 16.00 application. The results showed a weak positive relationship between the intensity of the use of Android media with the interest in learning of students in Islamic Religious Education subjects. Thus, students' interest in learning is largely influenced by other factors outside the variables of this study.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe students' knowledge and understanding of life skills education; describe the readiness of students to enter the MEA; knowing the relevance of life skills education with the MEA pillars; and knowing the model of life skills education that can be applied to develop the competence of student graduates in entering the MEA. The research subjects were taken purposively as many as 30 students, representing each class. The results of the study show that students' knowledge and understanding of life skills and about the enactment of MEA are still very minimal. The level of sensitivity to the emergence of the dynamics of life skills education to prepare themselves to face the MEA is also still relatively low and the readiness of students to face the MEA also has relevance to the level of knowledge and understanding. For this reason, the strategies that need to be developed are: planning and development of relevant curricula, quality of learning by integrating life skills in all subjects, supporting facilities, foreign language skills, strengthening language laboratories and information and technology that facilitate student access to actual information , and expertise is needed from lecturers to students and apprenticeship programs. Abstract

This study is a descriptive qualitative by using a comparative analysis. The data primary data of this study are ta'lim al-muta'allim book and ayyuhal walad book. While the secondary data are on the basis of Imam al-Ghazali thoughts about education, Islamic education both classical and contemporary, and the thoughts of Moslem education figures.In this study, the data is collected by using documentation method and analyzed by intellectual biography. The comparison method were was used in for data discussion. The result of the study revealed that the concept of study and learning according to imam al-Zarnuji is a metal process.The core of learning itself is characteristic and manner shaping. Imam al-Zarnuji's learning concept stesses more on moral both for teacher and students. The interaction between students and teachers must support the ethics and moral without killing the learning creativity and dynamic. While according to imam al-Ghazali, learning is the process of soul to understand the meaning of something as an effort to shape good character in order to get closer to Allah the almighty (taqarrub). Although the learning concept according to imam al-Ghazali stresses on moral, it tends to pay extra attention toward the teachers as al-Mu'allim (knowledge transporters). A teacher must have good role or moral when he/she teaching. The comparison between learning concept and learning according to imam al-Ghazali and imam al-Zarnuji are on the basis of ontology (tauhid), epistimology (knowledge) dan aksiology (akhlaq/moral). These are sourced on al-Qur'an dan al-Hadits.

Abstract

This paper aims to explore the concept of accountability and good governance in the management of Islamic education. This research uses a qualitative approach for library research type. The discussion data was obtained from primary and secondary data derived from books and journals of international and national reputable. Content analysis is used as an analysis technique. The results of the study show that accountability and good governance in Islamic education management is the obligation of schools to account for the management, control of resources, and the implementation of policies entrusted to institutions in order to achieve the goals that have been set. The study recommends schools to implement accountability and good governance in Islamic education management.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is to investigate the improvement of students’ science process after implementing guided inquiry approach. This research was conducted at the sixth grade of elementary school of SD Islam Al Ikhlas Cipete in 2008/2009 academic year. This research used classroom action research. Moreover, the research instruments consist of lesson planning, students’sheet, and observation sheet. This research measures some skills such as observing, predicting, measuring, using devices, doing exercises, interpreting data, communicating, and summarizing. Meanwhile, data were obtained through test and observation sheet. Furthermore, from this research, there was only one aspect skill which has achieved the indicator of success. Three skills such as observing, measuring and doing exercises had achieved > 70% since the first cycle. Meanwhile, four skills such as predicting, interpreting data, communicating, and summarizing did not improve significantly. It caused by those skills were hard to be mastered by the sixth grade students due to those skills demand students’ high level thinking. Therefore, to improve those skill aspects, the teacher should be more intensive in guiding students in order to students be able to learn general concepts, scientific principles, and developing creativity in solving science problems individually. The average percentage for process skills improve 10.55% from 62.89% to 73.44% with category was good. Thus, students’ science process skills of the sixth grade of SD Islam Al Ikhlas Cipete could be improved by using guided inquiry approach.  Keywords: science process skill, guided inquiry Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa setelah diterapkan pendekatan inkuiri  terbimbing. Penelitian dilakukan di kelas VIB SD Islam Al-Ikhlas Cipete tahun pelajaran 2008/2009.Metode penelitian menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas.Instrumen penelitian menggunakan RPP, tes, lembar kerja siswa, dan lembar observasi.Keterampilan yang diukur meliputi mengamati, memprediksi, mengukur, menggunakan alat, melakukan pekerjaan, menginterpretasi data, mengkomunikasikan, dan menyimpulkan.Data diperoleh melalui tes dan lembar observasi.Dari hasil penelitian hanya ada satu aspek keterampilan yang mencapai indikator keberhasilan.Tiga keterampilan yakni mengamati, mengukur, dan melakukan pekerjaan sejak siklus 1 sudah mencapai > 70%, sementara empat keterampilan lainnya yakni memprediksi, menginterpretasi data, mengkomunikasikan, dan menyimpulkan tidak mengalami peningkatan.Hal ini disebabkan aspek keterampilan tersebut sulit dilakukan siswa kelas VI karena merupakan aspek yang menuntut siswa untuk berpikir tingkat tinggi.Oleh karena itu, untuk meningkatkan aspek keterampilan tersebut hendaknya guru lebih intensif membimbing agar siswa lebih terbiasa belajar sendiri menemukan konsep-konsep, prinsip-prinsip ilmiah, serta mengembangkan kreativitas dalam pemecahan masalah-masalah sains. Rata-rata persentase keterampilan proses mengalami peningkatan sebesar 10.55% dari 62.89% menjadi 73.44% dengan kategori baik. Dengan demikian, keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas VIB SD Islam Al-Ikhlas Cipete dapat ditingkatkan melalui pendekatan inkuiri terbimbing. Kata Kunci: Keterampilan Proses Sains, Inkuiri Terbimbing

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the ability of Technological and Pedagogical Content Knowledge of prospective teachers of primary school at science subject. Respondents of this study were prospective teachers of the primary school in UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten in the academic year 2018/2019 which took the Practice Program Course of Employment in the semester VII. The method used in this study is a type of survey cross-sectional design. The research instruments include a closed questionnaire, analysis of lesson plans, and observation sheet. The data obtained in this study is the description of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge at Science Subject. The results showed that the mean skill score technological knowledge prospective teachers primary school of 2.94 (good category), average skill score pedagogical knowledge for prospective teachers primary school is 2.86 (good category), average skill score content knowledge for prospective teachers of primary school is 2.66 (good category), average skill score pedagogical content knowledge prospective teachers of primary school are 3.02 (good category), average skill score technological content knowledge prospective teachers of primary school of 2.41 (a quite good category), average skill score of technological pedagogical knowledge prospective teachers of primary school is 2.65 (good category), average skill score of TPCK prospective teachers of primary school is 2.38 (category pretty good). Thus, it can be concluded that the ability of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge Prospective Teachers of Primary School in Science Subjects has a pretty good category.Keywords: prospective teachers of madrasah Ibtidaiyah, science learning, technological pedagogical content knowledge.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge calon guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah pada pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA).
