The tradition of Tumpeng sewu is one of the traditional rituals with the presentation of food dishes, named tumpeng as a symbol of the tradition that they carried out. As time pass by, the traditional rituals of bersih desa were involved in the Banyuwangi government's annual activity program called the Tumpeng Sewu Festival which has been held since 2015. Slametan activities that include culinary rituals such Tumpeng Pecel pithik usually served as a special ritual, now in the Festival, it served as a commodity and promotional tool culture. The research questions in this research are (1) how is the origin of the Tumpeng Sewu Tradition in the Village Clean Traditional Ritual became the object of tourism in the Tumpeng Sewu Culinary 2015; (2) how is the Tumpeng Sewu Culinary Festival as a tourism object in 2015-2019; and (3) how is the economic impact of the Tumpeng Sewu Culinary Festival as a tourism object. This research uses historical research methods with historical anthropological approaches and modernization theory. The result of this research indicates the attractiveness of local traditions in the cultural tourism sector is increasing the number of tourists who visit Banyuwangi.
