Abstract

Purpose of this study is to determine the character formation of discipline and responsibility through cadet parenting that has been carried out at the Palembang Civil Aviation Polytechnic. The parenting pattern is carried out by applying a strict schedule to the daily activities of the cadets based on the Cadets Code of Conduct. The research method  is a qualitative research with a descriptive research model, to see how to strengthen the character of Palembang Civil Aviation Polytechnic cadets through parenting patterns. Collecting data by interview, observation and documentation. The results of the study show that the parenting pattern that is carried out can shape the character of discipline and responsibility for the Palembang Civil Aviation Polytechnic cadets. Based on this research, the formation of the character of discipline and responsibility of cadets can be formed through parenting patterns. So that parenting patterns can continue to be carried out with further development to shape future generations in the aviation sector in Indonesia.

Abstract

In this study, we designed a wind direction indicator learning media to help cadets understand how the equipment works. Wind direction indicator is used as a navigation tool for pilots to determine the direction of landing on the airport runway. This research was conducted at the Palembang Civil Aviation Polytechnic with research and development methods. The object of research is the cadets of the airport engineering study program. The results showed that the cadets were very enthusiastic in learning these tools, and increased their knowledge and competence in the field of visual landing aids navigation at airports. With the increase in the competence of cadets, it is hoped that it will support flight safety in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the usefulness of a game-based learning tool called the airfield lighting system that uses both VR and AR technology in the classroom. The quantitative research method uses a survey to gather data and test the application in two classes. The application’s usability is represented by data analysis that uses the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) model to quantify two aspects: hedonic and pragmatic quality. The study’s findings display the means of the positive value scales, indicating that the pragmatic quality score was 2.538 and the hedonic quality score was 2.548. In addition, To gain a more comprehensive understanding of a product’s quality, we also assess the product’s measured user experience by contrasting it with the outcomes of other well-known products. The results are interpreted within the 10 percent best results range, indicating “excellent” for five instruments and “above average” for novelty instruments. The result presents six instruments of usability level: efficiency, perspicuity, dependability, stimulation, and novelty. This usability test suggests using the airfield lighting system application as the learning medium for student-centered learning.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the differences in learning methods in the classroom using project-based learning and conventional learning. The research was carried out using quantitative methods by conducting evaluations and interviews with cadets. Data processing uses the Manova test statistical data processing application. The sample from this research was Palembang Aviation Polytechnic cadets in visual aid courses, especially taxiway lights. From the results of data processing, we can see differences in terms of creativity and learning outcomes between cadets who use project-based learning methods and those who use conventional learning systems. Project-based learning methods have fostered creativity and better learning outcomes. Hopefully with the results of this research, lecturers will more often use project-based learning methods to foster the creativity of Aviation Polytechnic cadets within the Ministry of Transportation of Indonesia.

Abstract

In this study, we designed a wind direction indicator display as a learning medium to help cadets understand how the equipment works. Wind direction indicators are used as a navigation tool for pilots to determine landing direction on airport runways. This study was conducted at the Palembang Aviation Polytechnic using mixed methods, namely research and development and quantitative. The object of the research is cadets of the airport engineering technology study program.  Determining whether there are differences in the results or not, by using paired t test. The study results show that the cadets are very enthusiastic in learning and developing these tools, as well as increasing their knowledge and competence in the field of visual landing aids at airports. With this learning media, cadets can better understand how it works. By increasing the competency of cadets, it is hoped that it can support aviation safety in Indonesia.
