Abstract

Kata kunci: Volumteric Study; Studio; Perancangan Abstract _ In architectural design studios at UIN Alauddin Makassar, it is common to use the method of tracing the concept in  2-dimensional design mode, by using drawing paper media and conceptual sketches. This issue relates to the fact that the 2D design concept using drawing paper media is limited to only representing the idea of shape, colour and texture in the design. One of the weaknesses of this method is the student's limitation to explore forms and inaccurate representation of design concepts so that another course strategy that is more representative of the design process is needed in an architectural design studio. So that students can also record the conceptions of orientation, shading, contours, and layering optimally. This article discusses the empirical experience of applying the volumetric study method within the UIN Alauddin Makassar campus within the framework of a strategy to improve the quality of lectures. The results of a case study in 3rd architectural design studio course for second years students, it was found that most students felt that the volumetric method of this study could help in tracing design concepts. Keywords: Volumetric Study; Studio; Design

Abstract

Abstract_ New shopping center facilities in urban areas are competing to be established by managers and investors to reap the benefits of the increasing demand for today's daily needs. However, the aspects applied to the building have not fully paid attention to sustainable architectural factors, so they negatively impact the surrounding environment. The Nipah Mall building was chosen because it is an example of a shopping center facility in demand by the public with reasonably rapid growth in every city, including Makassar today. As for this research, the qualitative method is collecting data, searching the literature, conducting field observations, and analyzing the principles of sustainable architecture that have been applied to case studies. This research is expected to increase knowledge related to shopping center building standards and the application of the appropriate sustainable architectural concept in it.

Abstract

Abstract_As a maritime country, Indonesia has vast territorial waters, which have a significant potential for fish resources—culinary tourism to taste the results of natural resources in the ocean. The problem formulation is based on how to design a Lappa Lelong culinary tour to get a qualified design to become a reference for a situation in fish trading places. The data collection method uses three systems, namely: secondary data, where a literature review is carried out; primary data, namely data generated directly or field observations as well as precedent studies, which carry out comparative studies on the design of buildings where fish auctions are held and concepts related to architectural behavior. Geographically, Sinjai Regency is located at 5°2''56" - 5°21''16" south latitude and 119°56''30" - 120°25''33" east longitude. Based on the RTRW of the strategic area with tourism designation, TPI is located in the Lappa village, with site conditions based on observations that are capable and have potential based on the research criteria conducted. This site could be a potential site for developing the fish auction area in Sinjai Regency. For the story of one of the food sectors in Sinjai district, it is necessary to design a lappa lelong culinary tour in Sinjai district with a behavioral architectural approach that can become a more organized forum for people to enjoy fish culinary delights in lappa lelong Sinjai. The design concept used in the design of the lappa auction culinary tour is how to relate the behavior of the use of the designed building.
