Abstract

Telah dilakukan reaksi penataan ulang Fries pada eugenil asetat yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh gugus allil yang terdapat dalam eugenil asetat. Reaksi penataan ulang Fries eugenil asetat dilakukan dengan pemanasan menggunakan katalis AlCl3, pelarut diklorometana pada temperatur 120 °C selama 3 jam. Identifikasi struktur hasil sintesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan Spektrometri inframerah (IR) dan GC-MS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa reaksi penataan ulang Fries pada eugenil asetat tidak terjadi, namun membentuk dimer eugenil asetat yang berupa cairan kental coklat kehitaman.

Abstract

Kunyit putih banyak mengandung zat aktif yang dimanfaatkan sebagai obat tradisional. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengisolasi dan menentukan jenis zat aktif dari ekstrak metanol rimpang Kunyit Putih (Curcuma mangga Val) fraksi etil asetat serta menentukan kadar zat aktifnya. Sebanyak 1000 g kunyit putih halus dimaserasi dengan pelarut metanol pada suhu kamar selama 24 jam, disaring dan diulangi sebanyak 7x. Ekstrak metanol tersebut dipekatkan kemudian difraksinasi menggunakan etil asetat. Ekstrak etil asetat kental yang didapat sebanyak 39,05 g dipisahkan dengan Kromatografi Kolom Gravitasi (KKG). Senyawa hasil isolasi menggunakan KKG sebanyak 0,035g. Berdasarkan kesamaan dalam spektra UV-Vis dan GC-MS maka diduga senyawa zat aktif yang ada dalam ekstrak metanol kunyit putih fraksi etil asetat adalah senyawa Labda-8(17),12-dien-15,16-dial dengan kadar sebanyak 0,00149%.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan sintesis senyawa turunan Asetofenon dari 1-(4-asetoksifenil-3-metoksi)-2-propanil format melalui reaksi penataan ulang Fries yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan senyawa turunan orto hidroksi asetofenon sebagai bahan dasar sintesis senyawa Flavonoid. Reaksi penataan ulang Fries 1-(4-asetoksifenil-3-metoksi)-2-propanil format dilakukan dengan pemanasan menggunakan katalis AlCl3, pelarut diklorometana pada temperatur 120 °C selama 3 jam. Identifikasi struktur senyawa hasil sintesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan spektrofotometri Infra Merah (IR) dan GC-MS. Penataan ulang Fries tehadap 1-(4-asetoksifenil-3-metoksi)-2-propanil format menghasilkan 1-(2-hidroksi-3 -metoksi-5-propenil)-asetofenon dengan hasil samping 1-(2-hidroksi-3-metoksi- 5-propanil)-asetofenon, masing-masing rendemennya sebesar 43,26% dan 9,84%.

Abstract

Echinoderm community was studied at the Mandalika Beach which is the main habitat of nyale worms in the southern coast of Lombok Island, from July to September 2017. The aim of study was to describe community structure of Echinoderm fauna and population structure of predominant species. Data on species richness and its abundance were collected using transect-quadrate methods. Five transects were laid haphazardly seaward that may represent the whole reef flat with about 200 m length and 100 m wide.  On every 10 meter along the transect length a 5x1 m2 quadrate was made, that overall there were 44 quadrates. The results showed that only eight species of Echinoderms found in the quadrate samples, i.e. sea urchin Echinometra mathaei (Echinoidea), and brittle stars, Ophiocoma scolopendrina, O. echinata, O. erinaceus, Ophiomastix annulosa and Ophioderma sp. (Ophiuroidea). Two other Echinoidea were also found outside the quadrates, i.e. Echinothrix calamaris and Diadema setosum. Simpson diversity index (D) was 1,243, eveness index (E) was 4,023, Shanon-Winner diversity index (H) was 0,430 and equatibility index (J) was 0,267. Sea urchin E. mathaei was the most predominant population (89,38% of total composition) with average abundance 11,87±22,37 individual m2. Brittle star O. scolopendrina come the second predominant population (7,31%) with average abundance 0,86±2,43 individual m2. The other four brittle stars had very low proportion (2%) and low abundance ( 0,20  individual m2). Population stucture showed that these two populations mostly consisted of reproductive members. Ecological interactions of these two predominant Echinoderms should be studied in more detail on interactions among of the Echinoderms and nyale worms. Keywords: Ophiocoma, Echinometra, Nyale, Lombok Tengah, population structure ABSTRAKPenelitian komunitas Echinodermata dilakukan di Pantai Mandalika yang menjadi habitat utama cacing nyale, pada bulan Juli-September 2017. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan struktur komunitas Echinodermata dan struktur populasi spesies yang dominan. Data kekayaan spesies dan kelimpahan diambil dengan metode transek kuadrat. Lima transek diletakkan tersebar ke arah laut pada pantai yang panjangnya sekitar 200 m dan lebar 100 m tersebut. Setiap titik 10 meter pada transek dibuat kuadrat ukuran 5 m2, dengan jumlah kuadrat sampel seluruhnya 44 kuadrat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunitas Echinodermata mempunyai kekayaan spesies yang rendah di Pantai Mandalika. Organisme Echinodermata yang dijumpai hanya 8 (delapan) spesies, yaitu landak laut Echinometra mathaei (Echinoidea), serta lima jenis bintang mengular, Ophiocoma scolopendrina, O. echinata, O. erinaceus, Ophiomastix annulosa dan Ophioderma sp. (Ophiuroidea). Di luar kuadrat tercatat dua jenis landak laut lainnya, yaitu Echinothrix calamaris dan Diadema setosum, dengan kelimpahan yang sangat rendah. Indeks-indeks komunitas pada umumnya rendah. Indeks diversitas Simpson (D) 1,243, indeks keseragaman (E) 4,023, indeks keanekaragaman spesies Shanon-Winner (H) 0,430 dan indeks kesetaraan (J) 0,267. Landak laut E. mathaei sangat dominan (89,38%) dengan kelimpahan rata-rata 11,87±22,37 individu m-2 di dalam komposisi komunitas Echinodermata. Bintang mengular O. scolopendrina menempati urutan dominansi kedua (7,31%) dengan kelimpahan rata-rata 0,86±2,43 individu m-2, sedangkan empat bintang mengular lainnya mempunyai proporsi kurang dari 2% dan kelimpahan rata-rata kurang dari 0,20  individu m-2. Struktur populasi E. mathaei dan O. scolopendrina menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar anggota populasi mempunyai ukuran reproduktif. Kehadiran hewan Echinodermata tersebut di habitat cacing nyale (Eunicidae, Polychaeta) menuntut penelitian lanjutan tentang peran ekologis dari masing-masing hewan Echinodermata dan interaksinya dengan cacing nyale.Kata kunci: Ophiocoma, Echinometra, Nyale, Lombok Tengah, Struktur populasi

Abstract

Bioethanol produced from agricultural sources is one alternative energy that has been developed to substitute for petroleum. However, the use of food sources such ascorn and cassava to produce bioethanol still face obstacles that lead to the scarcity of food and an increase in food prices. The aim of this study was to produce bioethanol from sorghum and iles-iles, which are not used by humansas food, especially in Indonesia. For both materials, the variables studied were saccharification time (4, 8, 24, and 48 h) and concentration of CaCl2added to the liquefaction slurry (0, 100, 200, 300, and 400 mg/L). The bioethanol was produced by enzymatic hydrolysis, which consists of liquefaction usingα-amylase at 1.6% v/w (t = 1 h; T = 95-100 °C; pH 6) and saccharification of the liquefaction slurry by using β-amylase at 3.2% v/w (t = various; T = 60 °C; pH 5) and fermentation by Saccharomyces cerevisiae(t = 120 hours; pH 4, 5; yeast 5g). The best conditions were obtained for sorghum at saccharification t = 24 h, which resulted in the highest ethanol yield, 91.5 g/L, and for iles-iles at t = 48 h, which yielded 107.1 g/L. The optimum amount ofCaCl2to be added was 200mg/L, which resulted in the highest ethanol yield, 98.5 g/L and 92.4 g/L for sorghum and iles-iles, respectively. This results shows that sorghum and iles-iles are promising raw materials for the production of bioethanol, since they produce it in large amounts.

Abstract

Limited trial studies have been carried out on the application of Experimental Worksheets to train High School Student Science Process Skills (SPS). The limited trial subjects of the application of worksheets were students of class XI IPA-1 at SMAN 1 Kediri in the 2017/2018 Academic Year with a total of 21 people. The number of worksheets tested in physics learning material Temperature, Heat, and Heat Transfer are a number of 6 pieces consisting of worksheets for experiments Putting test marks on Thermometers, Substance Expansion, Change in Objects, Black Principle, Heat Transfer, and Heat Equation. Worksheets in this study aimed to trains students to improve the ability to formulate problems, make hypotheses, conduct experiments, and interpret information. In implementing these worksheets, the teacher uses the experimental method in learning activities with 4 meetings. The average SPS score obtained by students for each worksheet is 80 with good criteria. Thus, worksheets can be an alternative for physics teachers in training SPS students in high school

By using profile  video expected to earn as a means of promotion  to society at the same time as documentation.The abbreviation  of problem from this research is how to  make the profile The Bath Water Warm of Bayanan by using multimedia computer. As for intention of this  research is to make the  profile video and information media The Bath Water Warm of Bayanan. The benefit from  the research can use is as a promotion media and documentation  of The Bath Water Sapta Tirta pablengan. The reseach methodologies  used by book, observation, the interview, analysis, scheme, in take draw and capturing, editing and voice  recording, test-drive and implementation.Conclusin from making of profile video by using this computer multimedia the purpose of the documentation  of the same  time as promotion medium.

Abstract

Leptospirosis is a disease caused by Leptospira spp. infection. It is a zoonotic disease that is world-widely distributed, particularly in the tropics, including Indonesia. Infected animals are the source of leptospirosis for humans, and these animals are secreting pathogens into the environment. The clinical signs off leptospirosis may vary from mild to severe and dead tray occur without a proper treatment. Due to the unspecific clinical sign, laboratory examination is required. However, isolation and identification the organism is time-consuming. Serological test is the most frequent way to confirm the clinical diagnosis, to determine prevalence in the community, and to conduct epidemiological studies. Vaccination with the appropriate antigen is used for controlling leptospirosis in animals. The multivalent Leplospira vaccine in Indonesia is developed according to the different types of serovar found in the field. The use of the appropriate vaccine combined with a good sanitation management could control leptospirosis in animals in the future. Key words: Leptospirosis, zoonosis, diagnosis, control

Abstract

Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) strains possessing either K99, F41 or K99F41 are responsible for causing neonatal diarrhoea and mortality of calves and difficult to control using antimicrobial drugs. A whole cell ETEC vaccine containing fimbrial antigens of polyvalent strains based on field serotypes was produced . The efficacy of ETEC vaccine used to control neonatal colibacillosis of dairy calves was studied in experimental animals and field trials. Five pregnant dairy cow were used for experimental study. Three animals were injected subcutaneously with 5 ml vaccine at 6 weeks and again 2 weeks before expected date of calving, others were left unvaccinated as control. Two calves born from vaccinated cows were given colostrum and milk from their own mothers. A calf born from vaccinated cow was not given colostrum, but milk from other vaccinated cow at day 8 . Three day old calves receiving colostrum of vaccinated cows were challenged with 2 ml either ETEC K99 or F41 suspension containing 108 colony forming units per ml did not show clinical signs of diarrhoea and their body weight increased progressively. Whereas, a calf born from unvaccinated group was challenged with ETEC K99 developed clinical sign of diarrhoea at 15 hours later and died at 8 days post-inoculation . A calf born from unvaccinated cow was challenged with ETEC F41 developed watery diarrhoea, it did not die, but its body weight relatively did not increase. The use of two doses ofpolyvalent ETEC vaccine at late gestation gave protection to the suckling offspring against challenged . Under farm conditions, dams vaccination with 2 doses of polyvalent ETEC vaccine 6 week and 2 weeks before expected date of calving reduced the calf mortality from average of 13% per months to 0.7%. It was concluded that dams vaccination with polyvalent ETEC containing K99 and F41 fimbrial antigens gave protection to their suckling offsprings or through consuming their colostrum or milk against homologous ETEC infection.   Keywords: Calf, colibacillosis, ETEC, dams vaccination

Abstract

Dehydroaromatization of methane (DHAM) under non oxidative condition was studied over tungsten loaded HZSM-5 catalysts to produce aromatic hydrocarbons. The catalysts were prepared by impregnation method using different conditions : in neutral and acidified solution. The activity of W/HZSM-5 prepared by neutral solution and W-H2SO4/HZSM-5 prepared in acidified condition were compared. The results showed that the optimum activity of W-H2SO4/HZSM-5 catalyst exceeded that of W/HZSM-5 catalyst. The effect of Si/Al ratio of W-H2SO4/HZSM-5 catalyst was also studied. The W-H2SO4/HZSM-5 catalyst with Si/Al ratio = 0 was found to be the most promising for the DHAM reaction. The remarkable activity of the catalyst is attributed to the presence of dual effects: suitable content of octahedral polymeric and tetrahedral monomeric tungstate species accompanied by proper amount and strength of acid sites in the catalyst. © 2007 BCREC UNDIP.
