Abstract

This study presents the application of the aquila optimizer (AO) algorithm to determine the parameters of the proportional integral derivative (PID) controller to control the speed of a dc motor. The AO method is inspired by the most popular bird of prey in the northern hemisphere named Aquila. Initially, the proposed AO algorithm is applied to unimodal and multimodal benchmark optimization problems. To get the performance of the AO method, the controller is compared with other methods, namely Seagull optimization algorithm (SOA), marine predators algorithm, giza pyramids construction (GPC), and chimp optimization algorithm (ChOA). The results represent that the AO is promising and shows the effectiveness. Determination of PID parameters using the AO method for dc motor speed control system shows superior performance.

Abstract

This work proposes a new approach to solve the economic load dispatch (ELD) issue in power systems by metaheuristic algorithms inspired by natural life. The problem to be resolved is to optimize the power system network with various constraints by considering the cutting in the cost of the resulting in the transmission of the electric system. The method used in this study is the hunger games search (HGS). This method duplicates the hungerdriven activity and the animal's choice of behavior. The proposed method is to add the concept of starvation as a process structure. Adaptive weights based on the concept of hunger are designed and used to simulate the effects of hunger on each trace process. To get the performance of the proposed method, this research uses mathematical methods, particle swarm optimization (PSO), differential evolution (DE), giza pyramids construction (GPC), and sine tree-seed algorithm (STSA) as a comparison. This study uses 2 case studies. In case study 1, the proposed method has a 0.16% better cost of generation than the mathematical method. Comparison of the HGS method with the PSO method in the second case study, it was found that the HGS method was 0.018% better than the PSO. From the research, it was found that the HGS method was superior.

Abstract

Energi listrik adalah hal yang paling vital dalam seluruh aktivitas kehidupan manusia  guna  meningkatkan  kesejahteraan  dan  kemakmuran  hidup.  Energi listrik  mempermudah  dalam  pemenuhan  kebutuhan hidup. hal ini  mengingat  sifat dari energi listrik yang mudah dikonversikan ke bentuk energi yang lain, seperti energi cahaya, energi mekanik, energi kalor, dan sebagainya.  Hal ini menuntut suatu perusahaan kelistriktrikan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan akan listrik, menjaga kontinuitas pelayanan dan menjaga keandalan sistem tenaga listriknya. Sebagai salah satu pembangkit tenaga listrik, PLTU  Paiton harus beroperasi dan dapat menyuplai energi listrik yang diminta oleh PLN untuk memenuhi kebutuhan konsumen. Dalam mengoperasikan  dan memelihara PLTU  Paiton  Unit 7 dan  8, PT.  Paiton  Energi  mengikat  kerjasama  dengan PT. Paiton Operation and Maintenance Indonesia (PT. POMI) pada akhir 2006. Dalam pengoperasian pembangkit tentunya kondisi abnormal atau gangguan di sistem pembangkit menjadi masalah serius. Sehingga perlu adanya proteksi pada peralatan untuk melindungi peralatan dari gangguan. Salah satu peralatan yang harus dilindungi adalah motor. Di PLTU  Paiton, proteksi motor digunakan motor manegement relay tipe GE Multilin SR469 yang merupakan suatu relay proteksi motor berbasis mikroprosesor yang dapat menjalankan sistem proteksi sesuai algoritma yang ditanam di dalamnya.

Abstract

Abstrak - Mahasiswa dituntut untuk menyelesaikan skripsi untuk memenuhi persyaratan memperoleh gelar. skripsi disusun berdasarkan penelitian lapangan atau analisa data. Permasalahan terkait pelaksanaan skipsi di jurusan teknik elektro adalah tidak adanya integrasi administrasi ruangan, jam dan dosen. sehingga menyulitkan mahasiswa untuk membuat jadwal yang tidak berbenturan dengan mahasiswa lain. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini mengintegrasikan beberapa modul yang berkaitan dengan manajemen ruangan, jam dan dosen. Sehingga permasalahan skripsi dapat diselesaikan dan pelayan terhadap mahasiswa dapat dioptimalkan.

Abstract

In this paper, recurrent neural network (RNN) is used to design power system stabilizer (PSS) due to its advantage on the dependence not only on present input but also on past condition. A RNN-PSS is able to capture the dynamic response of a system without any delays caused by external feedback, primarily bythe internal feedback loop in recurrent neuron. In this paper, RNNPSS consists of a RNN-identifier and a RNN-controller. The RNN-Identifier functions as the tracker of dynamics characteristics of the plant, while the RNN-controller is used to damp the system’s low frequency oscillations. Simulation results using MATLAB demonstrate that the RNNPSS can successfully damp out oscillation and improve the performance of the system.

Abstract

Penempatan pemasangan kapasitor bank yang sesuai dengan kondisi sistem kelistrikan sangat berpengaruh pada keandalan dan efektifitas pemasangan kapasitor bank dengan pertimbangan biaya pemasangan kapasitor bank. Penelitian ini dilakukan di gedung IDB Laboratory, fakultas teknik, universitas negeri surabaya-unesa. Penulis dalam artikel ini mempunyai tujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan dan pertimbangan pemasangan kapasitor bank yang berguna untuk memperbaiki nilai faktor daya dengan melakukan perhitungan nilai kompensator daya reaktif yang sesuai dan pensimulasian menggunakan software ETAP (electrical transient analysis program). Dimana dengan memasang kompensator daya reaktif sebesar 528,980 kVAR pada bus utama dapat memperbaiki nilai cos φ1 = 0,759 semula pada gedung IDB Laboratory sehingga menjadi cos φ2 = 0,97. Penghematan yang dilakukan setelah perbaikan faktor daya adalah besarnya nilai kW menurun dari 1007 menjadi 926 kW dan besarnya kVar dari 863 menjadi 463 kVar. Pemakaian daya reaktif (kVAR) berkurang, demikian juga pemakaian total daya (kVA) juga ikut berkurang. Dari analisa juga didapatkan biaya total pemasangan kapasitor bank dapat terganti dengan dilakukannya optimasi biaya penghematan energy listrik selama 4 bulan, dan bulan-bulan selanjutnya didapatkan biaya penghematan listrik sebesar Rp. 18.998.625,00 per bulan dengan asumsi kondisi beban stabil. Abstract

Ketidakseimbangan beban merupakan hal yang pasti terjadi pada distribusi tenaga listrik. Sehingga dalam pendistribusian tenaga listrik harus di minimalisir demi mencapai efisiensi penyaluran yang optimal. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis ketidakseimbangan beban instalasi listrik tiga fasa di Gedung I8 Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Hukum Universitas Negeri Surabaya, serta mengetahui kelayakan instalasi listrik yang terpasang berdasarkan PUIL 2011 dan menganalisis data yang telah didapatkan. Peneliti menggunakan metode kuantitatif yaitu mengumpulkan referensi beberapa jurnal yang relevan dengan judul yang diteliti. Selanjutnya dilaksanakan pengambilan data penelitian yang dibutuhkan dengan tata cara yang ditentukan. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa pemasangan beban instalasi listrik pada Gedung I8 Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Hukum tidak seimbang, terdapat selisih yang signifikan pada hasil pengukuran arus antara fasa R, fasa S dan fasa T, hal tersebut dapat membahayakan kondisi panel utama, circuit breaker dan juga kabel distribusi yang terpasang pada jaringan instalasi listrik tersebut. Data ketidakseimbangan beban diperoleh persentase sebesar 37% dari pengukuran pada panel utama. Sedangkan kabel hantaran dengan diketahui ukuran luas penampang kabel (mm2) kemudian membandingkan dengan ketentuan berdasarkan PUIL 2011. Data pada ketidakseimbangan beban belum memenuhi syarat ketidakseimbangan beban yaitu kurangdari 20% sesuai IEEE 446-1995, dan untuk kabel yang digunakan telah memenuhi persyaratan sebagaimana yang telah diatur pada PUIL 2011 sehingga tidak perlu dilakukan pengantian sedangkan pada pengaman masing-masing panel Gedung I8 Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Hukum tidak perlu dilakukan pergantian karena dari sisa beban masih cukup dan pengaman yang terpasang telah memenuhi syarat PUIL 2011. Abstract

A DC motor is applied to delicate speed and position in the industry. The stability and productivity of a system are keys for tuning of a DC motor speed. Stabilized speed is influenced by load sway and environmental factors. In this paper, a comparison study in diverse techniques to tune the speed of the DC motor with parameter uncertainties is showed. The research has discussed the application of the feed-forward neural network (FFNN) which is enhanced by a sine tree-seed algorithm (STSA). STSA is a hybrid method of the tree-seed algorithm (TSA) and Sine Cosine algorithm. The STSA method is aimed to improve TSA performance based on the sine cosine algorithm (SCA) method. A feed-forward neural network (FFNN) is popular and capable of nonlinear issues. The focus of the research is on the achievement speed of DC motor. In addition, the proposed method will be compared with proportional integral derivative (PID), FFNN, marine predator algorithm-feed-forward neural network (MPA-NN) and atom search algorithm-feed-forward neural network (ASO-NN). The performance of the speed from the proposed method has the best result. The settling time value of the proposed method is more stable than the PID method. The ITAE value of the STSA-NN method was 31.3% better than the PID method. Meanwhile, the ITSE value is 29.2% better than the PID method.

Abstract

This article presents a direct current (DC) motor control approach using a hybrid Seagull Optimization Algorithm (SOA) and Neural Network (NN) method. SOA method is a nature-inspired algorithm. DC motor speed control is very important to maintain the stability of motor operation. The SOA method is an algorithm that duplicates the life of the seagull in nature. Neural network algorithms will be improved using the SOA method. The neural network used in this study is a feed-forward neural network (FFNN). This research will focus on controlling DC motor speed. The efficacy of the proposed method is compared with the Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) method, the Feed Forward Neural Network (FFNN), and the Cascade Forward Backpropagation Neural Network (CFBNN). From the results of the study, the proposed control method has good capabilities compared to standard neural methods, namely FFNN and CFBNN. Integral Time Absolute Error and Square Error (ITAE and ITSE) values from the proposed method are on average of 0.96% and 0.2% better than the FFNN and CFBNN methods.

Abstract

Vocational High School (VHS) is the initial level of vocational education whose task is to prepare students to become skilled labor in the industrial field. At this time there have been many changes, related to the era of industrial revolution 4.0, and the demands of life in the 21st century. Therefore it is necessary to increase the competence of vocational students in order to respond to these changes, both related to the era of industrial revolution 4.0, and demands for skills 4C to be able to live in existence in the 21st century. How far has the implementation of Vocational Schools been able to respond to these changes and demands? To answer this question, a research is needed entitled "Readiness of Vocational students in order to face the industrial revolution 4.0 and the demands of 21st century skills". Through literature studies, it was found that it was needed: (1) the use of learning models such as Problem Based Learning (PBL), Project Based Learning (PjBL), Cooperative Learning and the like, in order to foster 4C skills capabilities for vocational students; (2) the use of learning media such as e-larning, Flipped classroom and podcasts; (3) IoT utilization, digital literacy, and utilization of e-books that are cheap, practical, environmentally friendly, and up to date, (2) improving teacher quality related to the demands of 21st century skills.
