Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi terutama dalam pengerasan logam mengalamai kemajuan yang sangat pesat. Proses perlakuan panas adalah kombinasi dari operasi pemanasan dan pendinginan dengan kecepatan tertentu yang dilakukan terhadap logam atau paduan dalam keadaan padat, sebagai suatu upaya untuk memperoleh sifat-sifat tertentu. Proses perlakuan panas pada dasarnya terdiri dari beberapa tahapan, dimulai dengan pemanasan sampai ke temperatur tertentu, lalu diikuti dengan penahanan selama beberapa saat, baru kemudian dilakukan pendinginan dengan kecepatan tertentu. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui morfologi permukaan patah yang terjadi pada metoda perlakuan panas dengan media pendinginan air dan oli terhadap makro struktur logam. Hasil pengujian kekuatan bahan memperlihatkan bahwa nilai kekuatan tertingi terdapat pada spesimen uji yang diberi perlakuan panas pada temperatur 8200 C dengan nilai kekuatan 972 MPa dan nilai kekuatan terkecil pada spesimen dengan media pendingin oli 563 MPa. Kekerasan bahan tertinggi terdapat pada spesimen uji yang diberi perlakuan panas pada temperatur 8200 C dengan media pendingin air yaitu 299 VHN. Secara makro struktur permukaan patah menunjukkan patah ulet adalah sampel dengan media pendingin oli dan sebaliknya patah getas pada media air.

Abstract

pot welding is actually used for body of car manufacture on automobile industry. The purpose of this research was to know the good time of pressure and the current of welding, especially for 1,5 mm sheet metal welding. The methods that were used in this study were, first of all, making of experiment of the strenght of the welding result, processing dat, analyzing data and making conclusion and report. After doing the research and getting the result, the good time of pressure and current used on 1,5 mm sheet metal was 10, 20 and 30 seconds and 70 Amp. Is was proven that after the shear tested for the pressure time 10 second and current 70 Amp. The result of treatment gotten was 488,658 N/mm2 , and for the pressure time 30 seconds and Amp, the shear strenght gotten was 510,593 N/mm2. . The data analysis the writer concluded that time of pressure and current were very insfluenntial on the result of the strenght of welding by using spot welding machine. It was because of the electrode pressure time of welding on the material would cause heat that making nugget. The heat processing will influence the result of welding extension.

Abstract

The development of biomass has been assumed as an important issue in the past several decades and would remain to be attractive in the future due to its clean, renewable, and carbon–neutral properties. Biomass is one of the most important renewable energy resources in the world. In recent decades, the utilization of biomass has dramatically increased. The objective of this research was to knowing effect of particles size on EFB bio-briquettes of calorific value. There were many reasons. First, biomass is a renewable resource, because of the availability of biomass is unlimited, and its regenerative process runs well. Second, the extraction of biomass energy can be carried out more flexibly. The biomass can be burned directly without high technology. Biomass bio-briquettes are often used as an energy source for cooking purpose and in some industries. The 2% (dry basis) is used as a binder in a mixture with EFB fibre. Samples of solid cylindrical shape Ø 4 cm and 6 cm high and density sample is 0.8 gr/cm2. The pressure is used to generate samples specified in the mold volume. The volume of the cylinder is 75.36 cm2. The particle size briquette of 40 mesh average water content of 9.1% was generated while the size of 60 mesh was 9.5%. The particle size of 60 mesh (smooth) yields the highest value between 20 mesh and 40 mesh. The value of ash content generated by 4.35% is higher than the size of 20 mesh (2.88%) and 40 mesh (3.09%). On the particle size of 20 mesh fibers (more roughly), it yields a calorific value of 4237.5 kal /gr and is higher than 40 mesh fiber particle size (4102.2 kal/gr) and 60 mesh (4066.5 kal/gr). The difference in heating value produced by the three did not show any significant difference.

Abstract

Mower is one of many types of machines is used to cut the grass by the Farmers and Workers' City Park. By using this machine, the work will be lighter and faster. However, the eye piece of this machine is very harmful to user and other people around it if it is used to cut grass in rocky or gravel areas. By modyficating the eye piece of this machine by using the other materials is experfed the cutting process will be easier and not harm. In this study has been used the Nylon cable T string as alternatives eye piese. To testing the feasibility of T and cables Nylon Strings, testhing is conducted testing on grass cutting reeds. Tests using a standard eye pieces (2 eyes cut) can cut grass up area of 80 m2 , whereas Nylon strings can only mow the lawn with an area of 24 m2 , and T cable with an area 16 m2 . Nylon strings T and the cable can be cut tall grass, but could not complete the test because of easily broken and easily tangled. From these results, it can be concluded that the alternative material (Nylon Strings and cables T) has not been feasible as an alternative cut eye on mowers.

Abstract

This study is an experimental study using the UTM (Universal Testing Machine) where the bolts are the main object of the test. Testing independent variables are used only in the varying positions. Testing was conducted using 3 (three) bolts located at the 5 (five) pieces in a jig (test tool of the shear bolts), with different positions for each test. Number of bolt position is that as many as 5 variations of the entire position will be obtained in the optimal position to receive style. Objectives to be achieved is to know the phenomena that occur in the process of loading on the bolts. Besides the above objectives, this study also to identify and analyze the characteristics of the material properties of the shear plate is fastened with two bolts, on a variety of positions so we get a position that would result in fracture or shear bolt receiving optimal shear forces. Optimal position to receive a shear force is position 2 and 3. The position is not optimal receive shear force is position 4

Abstract

This research background with the desire of knowledge about what exactly the author Spot Welding and is usually used in the automobile industry for the manufacture of body of a car, the purpose of this study was to determine the time to do a good press plate welding especially in Black and Galvanized plate with a thickness of 1.2 mm . The first method of research conducted test process composition, creation of test samples, perform welding with welding machine Spot Welding, further testing of tensile and shear on each - each plate type, data processing, data analysis form conclusions, and report generation. After doing the research and the results obtained, a good press time at 3.5 seconds on each plate with the current 26 Ampere, it is evident after tensile test on galvanized plate and black plate worth gained the greatest diameter 4.3 mm for the black plate and for shear test galvanized plate and black plate valued largest diameter 5,35 mm for the black plate. From the above data it can be concluded that at the time of press time spot welding greatly affect the value of tensile and shear strength, in due time to the welding electrode material emphasis will generate heat, thus forming clumps, the resulting heat will affect the outcome of the weld .

Abstract

Sand is the base ingredient in the development process. In addition, the material can not be separated sand use in the industrial world. Often in industrial buildings and workers needed sand material that has been processed. Sand material is usually still mixed with rocks or gravel. To get fine sand material, do the sifting process. The sieving process is carried out in order to get ready for the sand used in the process. The design of this sand sifter tools will provide convenience and a better process when compared with the work done traditionally. Benefits of making the application of automatic sand sieving machine can help the construction workers, especially in the process of building the sand processing to bebepara functionality and usability. And can be used to produce maximum results in conditions that are not limited in the field. The purpose of making sand sifter tools this automated system is to ease the work in process and streamline the sifting sands of time, economic and workforce. The process of making this tool consists of four main processes, manufacture sifter, frame and hopper manufacture, manufacture of other supporting components, and assembly of all components. From the results of tests and experiments, that for 20 kg of the starting material that contains sand and stone (gravel) are processed only takes approximately 25 seconds to produce three types of the filter sand and stone as well. In general, the innovation of this tool enabled us to increase production of larger sieve in a short time, for development work on a large scale, this tool is suitable for generating a large amount of production that would be more economical in terms of time and cost.

Abstract

This study will discuss change in tensile behavior as a function of vol.% of a’ in copper free and copper bearing dual phase steel. Microstructures of the steels after solution treatment and annealing at intercritical region are lath martensite and (a+a’) dual structures, respectively. The temperatures for annealing were determined using JMatPro 4.1. Specimens were austenised at 1000?C for 30 sec and followed by water quenching. Then, each type of specimens were heat treated at specific temperatures in order to obtain 20% and 80% of martensite. Beside that, for get hardness values each samples, the samples strain at 2%, 4% and 8% tensile test for base steel and Cu steel. Changes of hardness of annealed samples almost the same in both steels. On the other hand, it is found that addition of copper can improve tensile strength, total elongation and strength-ductility balance of the DP steel although no significant effect on yield stress and uniform elongation. Therefore, it can be concluded that the copper bearing DP steel has more excellent tensile properties than the copper free DP steel.

Abstract

The welding use gas of Oxy-Acetylene as source of heat represent one of the way of weld which quite a lot used at field. The test at the result of oxy-acetylene conducted with a few form different of groove, to know strength of weld form groove of test. Objective of the research is to knowing strength of result weld Oxy-Acetylene at steel of ST 37 which is joint on form groove of U,V and X. The result test of strength steel ST 37 with thick the sample is 5 mm which is with Oxy-Acetylene form of groove U,V and X this can be concluded, the tensile strength of weld steel which is smaller than tensile strength of the steel without weld, and weld steel result have the character of brittle and coarse grain. Tensile strength result of biggest welding happened at test of weld with form groove V that is equal to 317.7 N / mm . Joint of weld with form groove U have : Fmaks = 16768.8 N, groove V : Maks F = 19856.3 N and groove X : Maks F = 17381.2 N.

Abstract

The process of heat treatment is a combination of the operation of heating and cooling with certain speed and was conducted on metal or alloyed in the solid state as an attempt to acquire the nature of certain properties. The temperature of the warming is done for 7850 C and 8200 C. As for the purpose of this research is to find out how the mechanical properties of steel heat treatment at different temperatures and then to find out the value of the strength and hardness of steel with optimal cooling water and oil media. research methods used are experimental methods, experimental group consisted of samples which have been subjected to heat treatment which is pull-test sample amounted to 13 sample afterward for comparison is 3 samples. How does the difference in strength and violence that occurred after the heat treatment was given with water cooling and oil media against material that had not been given the treatment. From the test results and calculations made on the influence of heat treatment of Steel AISI 1029 with water cooling and oil mediums of the strength and hardness, the highest strength values found in the samples that were given a heat treatment at a temperature of 8200 C with the value of the strength value then Mpa 972 highest violence also occurs in the sample who were given preferential treatment at a temperature of 8200 C with 299 VHN.
